Little did he know I’m a truck driver, his face was a little red when he found out he was busted.some are great don’t get me wrong! 😊
Quick question... What year is your ram? I was under the impression that you had to lift the drivers side front tire off of the ground to spin the front drive shaft till I watched this. It seems after a certain year, it will spin freely like yours does? I have a 2021.
Mine is a 2018 4th generation. I think yours is a 5th generation but i think you should be able to manually turn turn it. Mine is a 2500 4wd. Can you see your driveshaft labeled as such? Mine is actually labeled with a sticker!
@theyippikiyo mine is a 2500 4wd as well. I've heard the 5th generation dud away with that grease point. When it finally dries up enough, I'll hafta look.
Mine has a sticker under the hood that specifies the requirement for greasing the shaft every oil change. Do let me know if your 5th gen has the same sticker or not. It would be nice to have that sealed.
needle is not the proper tool you will damage the check ball in the hole, you need a longer tip such as the Lincoln 5803 Grease Nozzle bend it at a 45 degree angle mount on the metal pipe on the grease gun, not on a rubber hose. Use a Q-tip to clean hole.
Thanks for your suggestions! I had meant to bring Qtips for cleaning but forgot them so had to make do. I've since greased this joint four times and remembered them! I initially tried a nozzle like you mention. It did not work for me. That's when I got the needle. I appreciate your warning and will definitely be aware! Appreciate your comment very much!

Get a pistol grip grease gun and use pliers and install the flexible shaft. Much easier.
Yes, a pistol grip gun would make it so much easier, 3specially in those tight quarters!

Just checked. The 5th gens DO NOT have the greasable cardon joint on the front driveshaft!!

This works for 4th gen RAm 2500s if you have the sticker saying it needs to be greased, it will work.
