That bigger one isn't intended to be used by sticking it into the boot. That one is used to go directly into a zerk fitting or other types of fittings that come on newer ball joints. For instance, I have upper ball joints that have a place to poke that right down the center of it and fill it with grease - done. Great tool, but not for stabbing the boots... too big of a hole. Great vid. Glad you didn't poke yourself. :)
Ok I thought I filled my up too much but after seeing this I thing they’re good😅
THANK YOU for talking about what and why and how
Excellent video !!! We’ll done !!! Quality video as well as explanation of the process. Thank you for saving me money!!!
Fantastic!! This is about the 20th video I've watched - WISH IT HAD BEEN THE FIRST! Many thanks.
Thanks so much! I used this today and I gotta say, it worked awesome!
Best video on the topic since you showed the different parts and how they are assembled.
I'm a RN. When you take the cap off a needle, twist it to break it loose. Then it will come off easily and you won't jab yourself. You have a great channel. Thanks.
Thank you
That was so thoughtful of you. Using your skills in your profession to assist someone in their profession. That's what makes the world go round😊
Great Video
Really helpful, thank you!
Very good tip !
Thanks alot. I did like ya said on my pro master van made a big difference went on a trip to a pro motocross race Unadilla NY 4 hr drive couldn't believe how sensitive the steering was perfect 👌 take care
That is Awesome 👍🏽
I just ordered this needle fitting for my grease gun. The ball joints on the front end of my car are squeaking away. The uppers have the zerk fittings from the factory. I pumped those up hoping that would get rid of the squeaking. No such luck. I’ll try to post again after I use the tool . But, the video cleared up a question I had. Thanks so much for making the video 👍
Thanks for this video.
Thank you my brother ✊🏿
Grease needle is a money saver and yes I need to grease my vehicle next oil change at 4000 miles with Val oil
im gonna buy one tomorrow , thanks!!
I have an 04 Dodge Cummins without grease fittings...front end is creakier than my 92 yo great grandmother - can't wait to get home from my road trip to try this. as they like to say in the UK, brilliant! thanks.
Did it work?
Yeah, did it work?
Thank you so much . God bless you ./.
Appreciated
Great video

Brilliant! I had no idea these attatchments exist.
Thanks for the instruction/info.
thank you man
1997 7.3 4x4 no upper grease zerks ..Problem solved ...Thanks a ton...
I might try this on my bad knee.
Lmao
😂
Thank you
Thanks my pro master van has no fitting I will try I like that better than the hypodermic needle I think I will put something over the hole agen thanks alot
On a Chevy 2500 there are 9 grease fittings already on the truck……they won’t grease them at the dealer unless you insist and double check….
Thanks
This might be easier than using the grease zirks to begin with. Cool.
I just had my oil changed on my chevy express. The work order said fittings were sealed. After watching this, I feel like I got screwed. I'll mention this to them next time and see what's they say. Thanks for the info!
Well actually they did not tell you anything wrong. It is a seal unit. My video is basically showing a way that you can grease a sealed unit. Thank you for watching!
In the UK, on an annual MoT inspection, they can fail the safety inspection for a ball joint leaking grease, so beware as replacing wishbones is not cheap.
but surly the grease would come out unless you seal the hole once you put grease in to it
This must be not the first time judging by the grease leaving through holes. The sharper the needle probably less leakage.
Almost stabbed your own hand taking the shroud off that needle! 😮
Ps, Dam thanks alot does auto zone or Advance carry them I been wanting to do them but couldn't figure out definitely the small one. Thanks
I got both of them from Advance Auto
Its too much just enough for the innerjoint like 4 times is fine
There was a zerk on top of that tie rod.
The first one is easy
What sealant did you use to seal the hole you created?
You can use black permatex RTV Silicone.
Should the needle holes somehow be plugged or wouldn't the grease eventually leak out from these needle holes?
You can put a little Silicone on the hole
I tried it and on one ball joint the grease kept coming out imma remove the silicone and try again what can I use to remove silicone from rubber boot
In your case. You may want to use the small needle and do not pack the boot full of grease. More like half way. If you have used silicone. I would injet in another area. I myself have not used silicone.
Mine always leak where I poke em.
Can I do this with my truck on the ground? Or do I need to lift the truck to relieve pressure/weight on the boots?
You can do it either way. But it is always best to grease Ball Joints and especially Kingpins off the ground.
a tudsz jobb megoldas milenne ha a media pontosan masolna ???????????????????????????????????
tried this and wound up greasing my tires. video on flat fixing, please.
I am sorry to hear that. Look on my Channel and search the Video on Fix A Flat Tire.
mine has no zerks and the rubber boots are shot partially gone.Would that mean I could not get grease to the ball joint?
I'm afraid that it maybe difficult for you to do this.
It has no issues noises or anything. Drives nice no wandering no tire wear. I might try spraying white lithium grease inside not sure if it would get to the socket or not in time. @@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
Doe you have to worry about the grease l eating out where you injected the grease?
I just inject enough to have inside the boot. Some may or will leak out.
You can degrease the hole and wipe some black silicone sealant over it to seal.
Where can i buy such a tool i am in South Africa.
Wow!
Here in the USA you can purchase it from your local Auto Parts Store.
How long does it take for the grease to leak out the hole you made? And don't tell me it won't leak out! And how do you tell how much damage was done to the ball before you pushed in new grease?
You do not have to pack it full of grease. Just enough to have some inside the boot. Ball Joints show several signs of wear. If you noticed a potting sound when turning left or right. Or frontend may Squeak. You can lift up the frontend and shake each wheel . If you have excess movement. That's a sign of worn ball joints .
Wow pretty cool and he replies to questions huge plus
Isn't that going to 💥 after the first pothole
No sir, it seems to stay in well. You can place alitte silicone over the hole and be done.
Does this stop the crackling noise when the steering wheel turns?? I replaced the ball joints & outer tire rods.
I had a buddy told me it stop his frontend noise. It can't hurt
Where do you buy these tips?
I purchased them from my local Advance Auto Store.
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 Thank you
so how do you get syringes if your not a user? im in australia.
In the US they are sold in the local Auto Parts Store.
Also try what we call a feed store in the USA…They sell syringes for livestock and equine medications/treatments.
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892.Outstanding video my friend. Thank you!
Which grease are you using?
All Purpose Grease
This doesn't leave holes?
@UCanHaveHim yes , it do leave a hole. Some use silicone for hole. If you can go underneath the boot, that would help.
Won’t it come out now that there’s a hole??
Not all grease will come out.
