    Thanks for doing this video. It's the best Bark River Survivor video I have seen where the knife is actually being used. I can't wait to get mine out in the woods.

    Thnx, Bruv..I have the bravo 1 in CPM 3V, and I am considering this tool more now from your vid 🔥
    You won yourself a fan with your comment about the knife safety and potential cuts 😂
    One knows, after a while, what to do and what not to do ☮️

    Sharpening that spine is a huge improvement. Although I rarely use the spine of a knife to scrape a ferro rod I use the same technique. It allows for more accuracy and control. Great video keep them coming.

    Gotta love BR's convex grind! In cpm3v (or A2) steel they are hard to beat. Try to do the same tests with a Mora. LOL No comparison. You can do large jobs and small intricate carving with the BR. For a survival knife I agree that the extra length of the 1.5 makes life a little easier. Thanks for showing it.

    3V is so tough you could build a chopper this size out of .100 probably and still never ever break it have it still perform like a beast too!! I wonder if they did it so think just for weight to improve chopping???

  • @gerretoutdoors3710
    @gerretoutdoors3710 7 років тому +1

    Man, sweet ride. What year is that? And how fast is she? Typing this as I am watching. You talking about how people are telling you how to chop has me cracking up. That knife is a champ though. Batoning and chopping like a beast. How much use do you get out of it before needing to sharpen it?

    • @TheLankyWoodsman
      @TheLankyWoodsman  7 років тому +1

      its a 1995 wolverine 350. Its def a rough ride, and it has seen better days but it runs and it is fun. not sure how fast, it doesn't have a speedometer but I'm gonna hook my phone up on it and get a close read on speed soon. Man people bug the shit out of me sometimes with the dumb comments...so I don't mind making a little fun of it in the video lol. so with all my knives, I strop them on a double sided strop with bark river black compound on one side and green on the other after each significant use, they all shave hair still. I even do it on other blades now that aren't convex and it still seems to work as long as you haven't done damage to the blade.

    i think you chop more effectively than most guys doing a utube vid taking decent size chunks with little effert

    what's the blade length on this model? I have been looking at the bravo 1.5 or 2 just can't decide which one I want .. I've heard a lot of great things about the bravo 2 though

    • @TheLankyWoodsman
      @TheLankyWoodsman  7 років тому

    I wonder why knife companies don't cut out and make sharper a little section on the spine? They know people use the knife to make sparks.

    • @TheLankyWoodsman
      @TheLankyWoodsman  7 років тому

      +malthus101 I agree. I have actually heard people complain that its too sharp and hurts their thumb...seems crazy to me.
