    Awesome knife, I absolutely love mine. I knew it was a big knife when I bought it, but once you get this beast in hand, you really feel the 3V weight and solidness. Bit worried about dropping it on my feet at times whilst swinging - it would prob go straight through boots

    Hello Chris, that is one awesome knife, great review. You have reviewed so many great knives, too many Choices. When it comes to batonning, the wood didn't stand a chance. It certainly does all the essential bushcraft chores.
    All the best to you. Keep up the great reviews. 🤗

    These bowies are for the enthusiasts and heavy users. You can get 4 Wild West cold steel bowies for the price of one of those. Of course the quality of bark river is far greater and they will last longer. The convex grind is king also.

    Great review. I have a JX6 Companion in Elmax set up as a necker and love it. And as you indicated in the video it is a perfect companion to this knife. I think the word(s) you were looking for is "financial interest". And I have no problem with a change in "best of" name designation. You can actually flip that to mean the other end of the spectrum. The Schrade Jess-X might feel right at home on that list.

    I've searched for years to find my knives to fit me. Now I have knives for different jobs like my Bushcraft knife is the Jessmuk , neck knife a scandi ground Patriot, This knife is my do all knife when I'm out, it is worth every penny I've had mine about a year cooked,carved, bushcrafted, clean fish and game both have not found a weak spot in this knifes useability and design although I'm 6'5" and have very large PAWs the handle could be alittle longer but with the finger school I make it work, also I'm disabled so this knife works twice as hard, thank you Bark River, I also have the bark river cub as a back up cause I couldn't get a dam dark timber grizzly made by Pete.tried for years had money in hand even got on the waiting list after Chris got his but never got a phone call even been friend with Pete face before his fame.now I can't afford one it's my white whale...but the Crusader in 3v is a great knife...peace

    Honestly. Truely innovative wilderness goers while take advantage of all option possable. I carry a smaller MSK 2 kneck knife from TOPS, a customized Condor Hudson Bay Survival Knife, and my Gran Forks Bruks Small Forest Ax. Between these three blades I have every need of mine for primitive Bushcraft covered. I like them all. But I like to practice with a small ax and specialize with it. It's easy to build with naturally smelted iron. Therefore could produce a steel ax with primitive means ( or a tomahawk type hatchet at least ).

    I don't need it but if i had that with my benchmade pukko 200. Then i wouldn't actually need any other knife for probably the rest of my life. Though its a lot of money for me and i would still want more knives. However i am super impressed. I find not a lot of cheaper companies make blades that shape and size. They made the knife that's been in my brain my entire life.

    This knife is just a bit larger than the Bravo Survivor. I prefer the Survivor to the Crusader, plus, I've paired my Survivor with the JX5 (which I use for limbing and taking out small saplings). The Survivor does the bulk of batoning and alternates chopping duties with the JX5. T me, the Bravo Survivor is just a bit more nimble and is just sized better than the Crusader.

    • @glbwoodsbum2567
      @glbwoodsbum2567 5 років тому

      You'll notice almost all actual working knives have a simpler steel that sharpens faster. If you spend long enough in the bush you're going to have to sharpen it. When you do sharpen it, it's nice to not need any special types of sharpeners and have the edge come back fast. jmho

    • @benwarman5202
      @benwarman5202 5 років тому

      GLB Woodsbum 256 I can’t speak to long use in the woods but if your using a 3v knife for a long time just occasionally strip it mid use and it should keep its edge. And as for special sharpening equipment all I use is a stone

    • @glbwoodsbum2567
      @glbwoodsbum2567 5 років тому +1

      @@benwarman5202 Well if you're occasionally stropping it anyway then why not just use 1095? It shouldn't really matter unless you're going through media that would normally damaged 01, 1095 or 1075. When you think about it, we're still cutting the same things in the woods that guys were cutting a hundred years ago. Many of the "lesser" steel's can be sharpened with a river rock if needed. Once again just my opinion, I do understand your point.

    Is it possible to order a Bark River just the way you want it? I mean, can you say something like I want this knife with those scales and mosaic pins? I have one Bark River, a beautiful Ultralight Bushcrafter with blue & gold elder burl scales and mosaic pins, and I'd really love to order a larger matching knife one of these days, something like a Crusader 3V with blue & gold elder burl scales and mosaic pins, but if I'm going to drop that kind of cash it's going to be exactly what I want or not at all. Can that be special ordered, or do I have to just hope that I can eventually find one in that configuration? My Ultralight Bushcrafter is exactly how I would've custom ordered it if I were custom ordering one, but I just got really lucky and got one second hand that happened to be made exactly how I wanted it.
