- This week's Throwback Thursday classic goal - brought to you by the Car Finance Company - is a magnificent turn and volley from Patrik Berger against Charlton Athletic.
Securing the Goal of the Season award very early in the campaign made this game one to remember for the Pompey fans.
The goal gave The Blues a vital draw, which would ultimately prove to be a substantial result for Harry Redknapp's side, who went on to finish 16th in the league. - Спорт

If this was scored from a top four club. This goal would still be talked about today. But as it came from a lower team. Has become a forgotten gem.

Better than Henry's goal against United at highbury
Manchester United > Charlton. And Henru has scored similar goals multiple times, unlike this guy who rode his luck once.
Also, the keeper could have saved this one whilst Henry's one was totally unsavable. Barthez, a better keeper than the one here barely even moved a muscle. Whilst this shot was bang on the middle that could have been saved by a better keeper.
Also, Henry didn't need to swivel like Burger here. He had his back against the defender for virtually the entire time and managed to beat the keeper and the defenders with quick two touches without needing to take more than a single step after the first touch. Whilst Burger relied on a keeper error and had to take more steps.
It’s close but Henry’s is just perfect

I just watched the Henry goal. I really can’t decide which was better. think Henry’s goal was just as good. Henry was under a lot more pressure and his shot got so much power from such a much tighter turn. I really can’t chose.

Sorry to say but Henry’s is way better, Bergers only half swivelled, Henry full swivelled plus the defender was pulling his shirt and also he did it against Man U not Carlton
