Installed this today, very easy. Thanks. I do wish that the car was still able to remain in Normal or Comfort if last used on that setting, so that I would be able to leave it on that when dropped off at the dealer, and less likely to be noticed.
Thanks for the suggestion and I will keep that in mind for future updates! I doubt any dealer techs will notice anyway, it’s just not something that is paid attention to at all by someone else in your vehicle(been a dealer tech myself for 17 years)
Idle stop only works when you default to individual mode? If yoi default to sport..will idle be on?
If you default to “sport mode” idle stop will always be OFF. If you default to “individual” mode you can select the idle stop option to turn off or leave on.
@@idlestopper7486 Thank you! Got my IDS controller, installed in minutes. Worked as advertised!
@@PhongTran1981 Thanks for your support!
@idlestopper7486 about to order, does engine mode "sport" in IDS affect exhaust baffles at all like in sport+??
Thanks for your interest! The engine exhaust baffles in “sport” mode are still closed and toned down like in “normal” mode. “Sport” mode mostly affects steering, suspension, throttle response and transmission shift points.
“Sport +” is the only mode where the exhaust baffles are opened.
We don’t currently offer an IDS Controller that will retain “sport +” mode as this mode is too aggressive for the majority of daily drivers. We may however add one in the future if there’s more customer interest.
Thanks for reaching out!
Why is there a delay for the module to work compared to pressing the button immediately and it being ready in less than 1sec? Just curious. I really would prefer for it to start in sport mode to and hear the exhaust note.
Also can you use idle stopper and this at the same time? Is there enough space in there for two modules? Thanks
There is a delay to allow for the gauge cluster to boot up and do it’s self checks at each startup. It won’t register the IDS Controller’s mode switching until it’s fully booted up.
The drive mode is switched to your desired setting shortly afterwards.
Yes! The idlestopper AND IDS Controller can be installed at the same time. There’s plenty of room and neither interfere with each other during function.
Thanks for your interest!
@@idlestopper7486 is that delay programmed by you or its user adjustable ?
The delay is pre-set and not user adjustable. If the delay was shortened, the vehicle will not recognize the module switching drive modes and it would also not work during a remote start situation.
The delay is necessary to assure consistent performance in all situations.
Do you have a Type S?
If so, you can basically unplug the active exhaust valves when in sport + and leave the exhaust system open at all times. This would even apply for startup and may get the additional sound you desire.
If you don’t have a type S, the exhaust tone doesn’t change no matter which drive mode you are in. On a non-type S the exhaust and engine sounds are all created by the ANC unit and are not real sounds from your vehicle.
@@idlestopper7486 just installed both modules and the work around for me is actually perfect if i remote start it by the time i’m already getting in car is in sport mode and idle stop is off!
Will this work even when you use the remote start?
Yes! The IDS Controller WILL work even when using remote start🤗
This works with both the regular and Type-S TLX?
Yes! The IDS controller will work for all trim levels INCLUDING the Type S 😁
Shouldnt this be "21+ Acura TLX IDS .. " ?
You’re correct! Good catch
@@idlestopper7486 Need to edit the description as well..
