The SH-AWD really shines in winter. With a good set of winter tires, it will go just about anywhere. One foot deep snow, not a problem, climb steep hills with rooster tails of snow in your rear view mirror !
Thanks for the tip about not needing to hold the engine button on the fob, that'll save a replacement battery over two or three years. Pretty sure that with the launch control, when it engages the engine will drop 2 or 300 RPM letting you know it's ready, then let off the brake. Wish Acura put an indicator on the cluster but that feature is not heavily advertised and very sparsely documented so it doesn't surprise me.
Loved this. I’ve had my ‘22 type S for 3 weeks and had no idea about any of that except the drive mode/tranny S thing and battery thing. The windows trick was dope, thanks for the upload! 🙏🏾
so i lost your number .. so i wanted the performace wheels .. but to get the color combo that i wanted i had to settle for the regular 20s , and am going to buy them and put them on ..do you have any connections in your circle of friends that is wanting to sell a set of the wheels .. do not really need the tires .. i can get them at cost through acura .. but trying to find them for less .. thank you for any help ..
Nice tips and tricks. The part about using the remote to open all windows has been around for years. It’s to help dissipate heat, but I’d really love if we can put up the windows with the remote as well.
When you pressed the "auto-start" button on the key fob your car started. You also caused my Lexus to start outside as well. 😎 As always, a great and helpful video. From another 100 degree day in the Boston area. G.
Coming back here hey I've noticed I cant check transmission fluid because there's no dipstick also it's looks difficult to get to the coolant reservoir
I watched your video on the Acura type S and now it makes me so much more excited to get it. I'm looking at getting a '23 in mid to late August of '24. Is it safe to assume that all these features, tips and tricks will be on the '23? Any additional comments you would like to add please feel free. By the way, love your profile pic. I worked in the golf business on the sales and teaching side for nearly 25 years. I'm up in NY, the home of one of the most famous golf courses in the country, Oak Hill C.C.
Great video. Car looks good. Are you having any issues with it? I have 9000 miles on mine and I developed a rattle in the left side of the steering wheel. Took it in for service and now they tell me I need a new left front strut. My rims are fine no dents so I dont think I hit a pothole that bad that f*** up the strut. Please let me know if you herd of anything. Thanks and have a great day preferably with temps on the 70s👍😀
I like the TLX Type-S, but it doesn't outperform its peers. Can it be modified and is it worth it? (e.g. weight reduction ~400lbs overweight, intake / exhaust / tuning)
And tbh, I’ve had many fast cars, 6-850hp, but daily drive my type S. UA-cam and the numbers don’t tell the story. It’s a blast to drive and the SH-AWD plus the low gearing make it super muscle car feeling when in S tranny/sport+. You just have to experience it. That being said, I’m going jb4 route as well, but it doesn’t need it imho 🙏🏾
They used a lot of aluminium for the body, what will make weight reduction difficult. We have the same problem for our RCF, that is a nice car, but has to carry around his 3800 pounds curb weight. There is no real solutions around this. For a car to be "luxury", they generally tend to adress road noise, this requires lots of panelling and sound insulation, to make the cabin quiet. There are a few exceptions, the Lexus IS350 comes to mind. Still reliable, not a road domination machine, but quite fast non the less, with reasonable weight to throw around in the curves. Some germans are even lighter, but the flimsiness of them is a deterrent. If you want a car that outperforms everything, you should look for a Ferrari four seater.
Outperform how? What do you consider it's peers. I drove quite a few imports and was underwhelmed with different aspects of each car and got the Acura. They were all very fast-enough for me anyway. There is a lot more to this car than 0-60 times.
Inspite of all the Aluminum parts they incorporate in this car it still weighs freakin 4200 lb curb weight. Big no for me, as much as i love this car the weight is the only thing that stops me from buying it.

That's great to know! I had a 1st gen TLX that also did amazing with some blizzaks

Nice!! Glad it helped!

I have seen the fob will roll up the windows in Europe. I believe the reasoning we can’t in the US is due to safety regulations
@@503pdxCars agreed, hopefully there’s a hack to enable this on Honda/Acura vehicles.
thanks for the tips....Launch Control is next on the list..thanks for the steps!!!
You bet!
Thanks for the tips ma dude, got the tiger eye like yours and absolutely loving it!
It's a sweet color!
Good video. Thanks for the tips. I also, would not want my TLX filled up with hot air, and yes, that keyhole is gorgeous
Glad it was helpful!

Oh dude, yeah these triple digits... they are getting toasty!
I like the video I just learned something new today now I am about to go try out the tips and tricks
Great!
Nice! I hate i can't row my windows up. I had that in my 2015 Impala.
Coming back here hey I've noticed I cant check transmission fluid because there's no dipstick also it's looks difficult to get to the coolant reservoir
Cool… learned a couple things I was unaware of… thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for the tips. Nice spaceship goodies!!
Great tips! Thanks!!

Yah all should work on the 23
the car + the color
Cool. Video.. Thank You 😊
Just picked up my NEW PMC Type S🎉🎉🎉🎉 last night #longbeachbluepearl
Awesome! I have 007. What number did you get?
some good tips in here for sure
Owned mine for a year at this point and didn’t know about the window feature… wtf.
I have to ask if your brakes squeak when vehicle is cold or just starting up after sitting for a while?
I haven't had any brake issues
Great video !
Glad you enjoyed it!
With the Civic type R markups, the Type S is looking like a bargain
It's a lot of car for the money!
5:50 Can you remove the chassis brace for more cargo space?
Yes
I noticed your car has a heated wheel, I was told this isn't an option on Type S, can you tell me how you got it? Did you replace the wheel?
Yep! It's an OEM accessory that I purchased and swapped wheels
amazing
The only thing with this car is it doesn't warn that the seatbelt isn't on, my previous TLX aspec had voice command with a female voice
Oh interesting
@@503pdxCars Yeah I don't understand that
Pretty dumb complaint for a sports car 😂 crazy how people got along fine without this feature for decades
Yes it does it beeps
@@Im2wavy174 Yes it does but I like the voice it's just a matter of preference
Are you concerned about your interior getting dirty?
Yes and no. It’s a car. It’s going to get dirty. I’m conscious of that and just clean the interior when needed. It’s been fine so far
Aluminum hood, fenders, and front suspension is not Type S specific. It’s that way on all trims.

Not much, my puddle lights have gone out but I haven't really had anything else come up that I can think of!
@@503pdxCarsyes I feel like a hear a rattling from my driver side door
@@503pdxCarsmines only has a 100 miles 😂
@@503pdxCarspuddles light is also out haha
How reliable has the car been so far?
Other than the puddle lights, it really has been rock solid - even for a early production run. I've been really pleased.
What color is your Tlx?
Tiger Eye Pearl

All that 'weight saving' and this is the heaviest in it's class lol
Tint your windows for God's sake.

It doesn't move like a slug that's for sure.
@@kenster007 true, but still slow for my taste i guess
