Adventures with Purpose wouldn't have released that they'd found her if they hadn't. The Local Law Enforcement invited Adventures with Purpose, after they failed to locate the girl. AWP are extremely professional and quite gifted. They've solved about 30 missing persons cases, some decades old, in a two year time frame. They have extra sensitive fish finder like sonar in their boats, and they also approach the cases with a sensitivity and an almost angelic aura about them, and I believe that is why they are indeed so amazing and absolutely understand each assignment they've taken on! She was headed down a road and hit sand before a beach area where she was going fast enough to completely submerge her vehicle at quite a distance out from the shoreline. She would have had to be going pretty fast over that sand (which is hard to do) before hitting the water. Going < 20mph her car merely would have stopped in < 10 feet where the water would have stopped her car instantly. How fast was she going and why?

When I was 16 I felt that my parents were too strict and suffocating. If I was just running around I had a 10:00 curfew. If I went to a movie or a get-together I had to be home at 11:30. The mom is facing murder charges due to her child using the mom's vehicle and alcohol from the mom's home. It's called parental homicide, child was 16, and thats illegal to plan for your child to drive drunk. Parents can be liable in court if she killed others from her DUI drunk driving. Adventures have specialised equipment which is why the investigators invited them to help. It’s a blessing for her parents to find her. She was not able to be rescued, it was too late for her. Her parents will be grateful to be able to grieve her, than to have no answers, no closures.

I'm making a post to share about these guys. I live in Minnesota and this is the first I've heard of them. But I feel compelled to spread the word of what they do as it truly touched my soul in weird ways. I felt like I should be cheering & giving them a high five....but then I stopped, cuz how crazy does someone have to be, to be happy they found a deceased person let alone such a young person. Her family is facing criminal charges for providing a child with drugs that led to a murder. Allowed their child to drive drunk. The story isn't ending anytime soon in criminal court. Bad parenting lee to murder. Termed parental homicide.
What blows my mind is that they HAD teams scouring the water - how did they miss this? Why did it take a special team from out of town (not to put down their efforts and help) to find her - if it's her. The fact is that they found someone and their car and why didn't existing "dive teams" find this car first two weeks ago? How did these guys find this car in 24 hours?
AWP have said in the past that a lot of the times law enforcement do not have enough training or experience with the equipment and that is why they often find people in bodies of water that have already been searched.
I was watching one of the videos AWP posted a few weeks ago and there was a person diving under water and he had a camera and let me tell you it was hard to see under water . I know we all want to think it's easy but it's not. The diver couldn't even find the back of the car or get a license plate. I mean there's so many cold cases they have been solved of people who have been under water for sometimes 30 years and were not found for that long so that should tell you it probably isn't as easy as you might think

Imagine a van full of babies 👶 dying from her DUI driving drunk on a lake. The best outcome was her dying alone instead of a mass murder accident from driving drunk illegally. I still can't wrap my head around even going to bed while my drunk 16yr old isn't home. Especially KNOWING that she's been partying, and she gave an ETA but never showed up. So many people did this girl wrong, starting with her parents.

Diving is very expensive & most agencies would rarely use the equipment & training & most would rather use the funds they have for bullet proof vests etc that are used more often.

Teens and alcohol have mixed, for thousands of years, with 99.99% of them not losing their life. Humans do silly things a billion times a day. None of this is new. NORMAL, compassionate, healthy-minded people just find empathy, instead of demonizing people for the things that ended their life.

They found the car on the opposite side of the lake from the SMALL party's location at the Prosser Family Campground where the Placer County Sheriff's divers were looking. That's why they never found her vehicle or her in the two weeks they were searching. She was close by, but not where they expected her to be. Her phone was pinging over by the campground area's shoreline, but where they pulled her vehicle out was on the northwest side of the lake, and they were looking in the southeast side of the lake. She made a wrong turn, in the dark, was likely under the influence of alcohol and drugs, so her judgment was impaired, and being an inexperienced young driver (16 years old, remember... that's when California allows teenagers to get their driver's licenses), she ended up on the wrong side of the lake, on Old Hwy 89, which dead ends into the lake at that point where her vehicle was found. Those roads are not lit at night that lead to the campgrounds around the lake, so she was driving in total blackout conditions. By the time she realized she was at the lake, it was too late, she went in. If you look at the submerged shelf of land, there isn't much land before it drops off into the deeper parts of the lake, judging by the darkness of the water in the deeper areas. That's how the vehicle ended up flipping, too. Front-heavy, tipping off the little bit of a submerged shelf, and it goes down, flipping over as it sinks. They found her body in the rear of the vehicle, where a pocket of air would have formed as it filled with water. She went there to try to breathe her last breaths, before she drowned. That party that was at the campground wasn't the 300 people that attended the Senior Send-Off event. That was a small contingent of people who left the larger party, because it was too tame to do the things they wanted to do... drink and get high. Probably had too much adult supervision, under watchful eyes. That's why the photo that Sami provided only showed a small number of people in attendance at the campground.

They were searching near the campground, and she ended up off of Old Hwy 89, which also deadends into the lake, like the boat ramp road that passes by the campground she was last seen at. So, she made a wrong turn SOMEWHERE to end up on Old Hwy 89, in the darkness (not well lit out there now, as we saw from the end of the live video when they ended it... they had to use the light from the boat that was used to illuminate everything, bring in klieg lights (the ones they use on road construction sites) that are battery powered, etc), while under the influence of alcohol &/or drugs. By the time she realized she too close to the water, it was too late, the vehicle was committed, and sinking. Come on, dude... think logically.

Cops have arrested the responsible party, her parents for providing alcohol and keys to the car to a minor. That's a felony termed parental murder. A homicide actually her parents belong in prison for killing someone, their own blood.

Absolutely chilling. I think most of us had a very good idea she may have veered off the road, especially in the state she may have been in. This is why its crucial to surround yourself with people who won't abandon you alone at a party after a night of drinking. I realize she made the final decision to get behind the wheel, but she could have been stone cold sober and still ended up in the water. please keep in mind the AWP have a lot of experience reading this kind of equipment. Most LEO do not have a lot of experience with searching water via this kind of equipment. What this has to bring to light is the skill needed to read this equipment. Each state should have AWP train at least one person for their state on how to do this.
Been saying this for a while. I think dive teams cops use are usually volunteers, hobbyists, they're training maybe once a year. AWP does this all the time, they have thousands upon thousands of hours of real world training. They also have some of the best equipment money can buy. I'm not making excuses for the dive teams cops use, but it's absolutely evident that they're not skilled enough, they don't have the right equipment, they aren't properly trained and they consistently fail to deliver results. Who knows how many cases have been left unsolved because one of these teams was sent out there to peek around for 30 minutes before deciding it's clear? Makes me wonder if maybe AWP or other teams should start revisiting all the bodies of water "searched" by such teams in cases that remain open or unsolved, perhaps they'll start closing ten every week?

And as we often see with AWP, people can often end up in places you don't expect them to which leads to longer searches that LE might not be able to dedicate manpower to

Adventures with Purpose wouldn't have released that they'd found her if they hadn't. The Local Law Enforcement invited Adventures with Purpose, after they failed to locate the girl. AWP are extremely professional and quite gifted. They've solved about 30 missing persons cases, some decades old, in a two year time frame.
They have extra sensitive fish finder like sonar in their boats, and they also approach the cases with a sensitivity and an almost angelic aura about them, and I believe that is why they are indeed so amazing and absolutely understand each assignment they've taken on!

If anything it leaves more questions than answers... She was headed down a road and hit sand before a beach area where she was going fast enough to completely submerge her vehicle at quite a distance out from the shoreline. She would have had to be going pretty fast over that sand (which is hard to do) before hitting the water. Going < 20mph her car merely would have stopped in < 10 feet where the water would have stopped her car instantly. How fast was she going and why?

The mom is facing murder charges due to her child using the mom's vehicle and alcohol from the mom's home. It's called parental homicide, child was 16, and thats illegal to plan for your child to drive drunk. Parents can be liable in court if she killed others from her DUI drunk driving. One less drunk driver on the road out to kill you and me. Thank God she's dead and didn't take a family in a van full of babies dying due to her drunk driving on the lake. Adventures have specialised equipment which is why the investigators invited them to help. It’s a blessing for her parents to find her. She was not able to be rescued, it was too late for her. Her parents will be grateful to be able to grieve her, than to have no answers, no closures.

Without AWP, who knows if they would have ever found her. AWP pulled a car with a 16 year old boy that had been missing for four years out of a busy boat ramp in shallow water. Four years. And the top of his car was damaged from boats running over it.

I'm making a post to share about these guys. I live in Minnesota and this is the first I've heard of them. But I feel compelled to spread the word of what they do as it truly touched my soul in weird ways. I felt like I should be cheering & giving them a high five....but then I stopped, cuz how crazy does someone have to be, to be happy they found a deceased person let alone such a young person. I'm happy for the family as they can have closure, how crazy does a person have to be for being happy her family has the reality their daughter is dead & it's all over the media. I'm so thankful there's people like them around, how crazy does a person have to be for being thankful there's a need for folks to go find dead & missing people.

Her family is facing criminal charges for providing a child with drugs that led to a murder. Allowed their child to drive drunk. The story isn't ending anytime soon in criminal court. Bad parenting lee to murder. Termed parental homicide.
What blows my mind is that they HAD teams scouring the water - how did they miss this? Why did it take a special team from out of town (not to put down their efforts and help) to find her - if it's her. The fact is that they found someone and their car and why didn't existing "dive teams" find this car first two weeks ago? How did these guys find this car in 24 hours?
AWP have said in the past that a lot of the times law enforcement do not have enough training or experience with the equipment and that is why they often find people in bodies of water that have already been searched.
I was watching one of the videos AWP posted a few weeks ago and there was a person diving under water and he had a camera and let me tell you it was hard to see under water . I know we all want to think it's easy but it's not. The diver couldn't even find the back of the car or get a license plate. I mean there's so many cold cases they have been solved of people who have been under water for sometimes 30 years and were not found for that long so that should tell you it probably isn't as easy as you might think

Imagine a van full of babies 👶 dying from her DUI driving drunk on a lake. The best outcome was her dying alone instead of a mass murder accident from driving drunk illegally. At real late at night and a person drinking will drive down a boat ramp thinking it is a road. A car will float for a while before it sinks.

Diving is very expensive & most agencies would rarely use the equipment & training & most would rather use the funds they have for bullet proof vests etc that are used more often.

They found the car on the opposite side of the lake from the SMALL party's location at the Prosser Family Campground where the Placer County Sheriff's divers were looking. That's why they never found her vehicle or her in the two weeks they were searching. She was close by, but not where they expected her to be. Her phone was pinging over by the campground area's shoreline, but where they pulled her vehicle out was on the northwest side of the lake, and they were looking in the southeast side of the lake. She made a wrong turn, in the dark, was likely under the influence of alcohol and drugs, so her judgment was impaired, and being an inexperienced young driver (16 years old, remember... that's when California allows teenagers to get their driver's licenses), she ended up on the wrong side of the lake, on Old Hwy 89, which dead ends into the lake at that point where her vehicle was found. Those roads are not lit at night that lead to the campgrounds around the lake, so she was driving in total blackout conditions. By the time she realized she was at the lake, it was too late, she went in. If you look at the submerged shelf of land, there isn't much land before it drops off into the deeper parts of the lake, judging by the darkness of the water in the deeper areas. That's how the vehicle ended up flipping, too. Front-heavy, tipping off the little bit of a submerged shelf, and it goes down, flipping over as it sinks. They found her body in the rear of the vehicle, where a pocket of air would have formed as it filled with water. She went there to try to breathe her last breaths, before she drowned.
That party that was at the campground wasn't the 300 people that attended the Senior Send-Off event. That was a small contingent of people who left the larger party, because it was too tame to do the things they wanted to do... drink and get high. Probably had too much adult supervision, under watchful eyes. That's why the photo that Sami provided only showed a small number of people in attendance at the campground.

They were searching near the campground, and she ended up off of Old Hwy 89, which also deadends into the lake, like the boat ramp road that passes by the campground she was last seen at. So, she made a wrong turn SOMEWHERE to end up on Old Hwy 89, in the darkness (not well lit out there now, as we saw from the end of the live video when they ended it... they had to use the light from the boat that was used to illuminate everything, bring in klieg lights (the ones they use on road construction sites) that are battery powered, etc), while under the influence of alcohol &/or drugs. By the time she realized she too close to the water, it was too late, the vehicle was committed, and sinking. Come on, dude... think logically.

Cops have arrested the responsible party, her parents for providing alcohol and keys to the car to a minor. That's a felony termed parental murder. A homicide actually her parents belong in prison for killing someone, their own blood.

I think most of us had a very good idea she may have veered off the road, especially in the state she may have been in. This is why its crucial to surround yourself with people who won't abandon you alone at a party after a night of drinking. I realize she made the final decision to get behind the wheel, but she could have been stone cold sober and still ended up in the water. A young, inexperienced driver in the dark, likely tired/exhausted and that area is difficult to navigate alone.

please keep in mind the AWP have a lot of experience reading this kind of equipment. Most LEO do not have a lot of experience with searching water via this kind of equipment. What this has to bring to light is the skill needed to read this equipment. Each state should have AWP train at least one person for their state on how to do this.
In my home state of Arkansas, AWP had found 4 people missing.

I think dive teams cops use are usually volunteers, hobbyists, they're training maybe once a year.
AWP does this all the time, they have thousands upon thousands of hours of real world training.
They also have some of the best equipment money can buy.
I'm not making excuses for the dive teams cops use, but it's absolutely evident that they're not skilled enough, they don't have the right equipment, they aren't properly trained and they consistently fail to deliver results.
Who knows how many cases have been left unsolved because one of these teams was sent out there to peek around for 30 minutes before deciding it's clear?
Makes me wonder if maybe AWP or other teams should start revisiting all the bodies of water "searched" by such teams in cases that remain open or unsolved, perhaps they'll start closing ten every week?

I think everyone who's seen AWP videos already knows that they have to completely disregard what the Police tell them in cases like this, because there's now more than 50 years of evidence that cops either don't care, don't look, don't have the equipment, don't have the skills, or simply try to prevent a thorough search so that they're not "embarrassed" when the case is solved by someone else.

If you have never lived in a very rural area, you might not be aware of just how dark it gets without light pollution. The light of the moon is often snuffed out when you are in wooded areas. You can't even see your hand inches in front of your own face. It's not unreasonable that nobody saw her car go into the lake.
