It isn't a Versus video, but what do you think would happen if Thrawn had the Supremacy? Because of its size and staff requirements it could initially be a problem for Thrawn to use, but the Supremacy was a mobile fortress with mining and manufacturing capabilities. One of Thrawns 'weaknesses' was a lack of ships.
@@robertnelson9599 Eh; with the destruction of the Supremacy the First Order lost its flagship, a major manufacturing/docking facility, and it's main base of operations. While it only lost a dreadnaught with the destruction of the Fulminatrix.
I would give it to the Vong, there were so many times in the books were there munition just pierced through shields as if they weren't even there. It has a reason why they had to ram the Lusankya in it after bombarding it with an exorbitant number of Turbolasers, to destroy that thing
@@acezenfu3293 they used it as a ram because they redesigned it as a ram with firepower. They knew it wouldn't have enough firepower to destroy a world ship so they made its inner hull into a needle to puncture the worldship killing it.
It's because there are two kinds of shield. Ray shields, which stop, blaster shots, and particle shields, which stop physical objects. But they are powered by the same power source, so as you raise power to one to strengthen it, you have to lower power to the other, weakening it. The majority of projectiles in the SW universe are energy projectiles (blasters and turbolasers) so by default warships put more power to the ray shielding and less to the particle shielding because they are expecting only things like micrometeor impacts to need deflecting by particle shields. Yuuzan Vong weapons are mostly physical projectiles. Most warships have their shields calibrated to favor Ray shielding by default. So Yuuzan Vong weapons just punch right through.
@@GuukanKitsune in addition, they were hot af and drew therefore power from the energy shields as well and if they came through they made tremendous damage to the hull. I can't tell you how often i read that the wing of a starfighter got hit and it melted straight through
Regarding the Supremacy's resilience on-screen, let's not forget that it was abandoned and scuttled because the First Order leadership wanted to make sure none of their rivals could use the ship. Even after it was sawn in half, it was clearly very valuable, and the ship was not rendered combat-incapable until it had been dismantled and demolished from the inside. That bodes very well for its damage resistance, especially to external weapons fire which the ship would be designed to withstand.

Like on it's initial hypering in and catching the Rebel...errr RESISTANCE fleet. Or when picking off the transports. Of course it could be the general idiocy of everyone in the Sequels... Worldshipe with fleet vs. Supremacy with fleet I'll say goes to the Vong, no problem though.
The reason we don’t see the supremacy do much is that the resistance was able to keep out of range of most of its weapons, and out of the effective range of even its longest range weapons
@@gonkdroid4603 yes, a range of a measly 50 km or so, if the tactical holograms are to scale (and that seems to match most 'live' shots in the film, too) That said, a lot of power was being shunted into the engines, which (presumably) had to keep constantly accelerating, since the Resistance ships apparently were.
@@chrissonofpear1384 the ship itself is 60 km wide. You are either joking, or actually too dumb to think that, if the ship was so far from the Resistance fleet that its scale was barely visible, then ofc that they were out of range. You know, most lasers can't travel infinitely
@@a_balloon well they aren't literally lasers, per se, but yes, not infinitely. Still, we see ships fire from ORBIT - and if the holos on the bridge are to scale, it barely clears the Supremacy's wingspan, to hit the Raddus. As much of a dumpster the sequal was, the Supermacy was actually one of the rare good thing that was presented. Then again, I’d be extremely happy if you did any video that mentioned Space Battleship Yamato.
Have you ever done video(s) on some of the non-military ships in Star Wars? We caught glimpses of some of these types in the prequels. For example, there was the fire ships in Ep.3, or the roadster Anakin commandeered in Ep.2.
I still think the Yuuzhan Vong are the most interesting piece of legends there is, the whole war and their past is extremely interesting, considering their connection to the force, their destruction of their galaxy, and them causing the largest conflict in galactic history, killing literal trillions. Unrelated but why wasn’t Coruscant made the capitol of the New Republic? I mean it’s always been the most important world in the Star Wars galaxy, and I know Mon Mothma wanted a rotating senate, but like bruh. Great video btw! Much love❤️

THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING bcs I've been wondering about the two biggest ships in star wars and especially the yuzahn vong that are really good enemies sense the galaxy has never seen them before and are a so different compared to other wars,I also wanted the swarm war to be a more important conflict sense the swarm are also very unique and are bugs so that pretty interesting
What's the point of this kind of versus when now in canon, you can throw a ship in lightspeed mode to nuke a bigger ship? The sequels are such a waste...
@@lilithvia1122 If you are referring to the battle of Endor... Well it has been explained that we only saw the finishing blow of that A-Wing running into the super star destroyer. Ackbar himself is calling for a focus on it on screen...

I was wondering if the fleet the Sith Empire used to take back Korriban in KOTOR would be able to save Reach from the Covenant, also, glad verses is back
To the point of the Supremacy being taken out in The Last Jedi, it was taken out with a capital ship doing a hyper jump ramming maneuver NO SHIP can prepare for that.

Who would win: EU: Wedge Antilles, Jag Fel, and Pre-Jedi Coran Horn Flying XJ7 X-Wings vs Disney: Wedge Antilles, Yrica Quell, and Poe Dameron Flying T-85 X-Wings
I think the main issue would be the Yamask, the Vong would have the edge in fighter craft (I think) and that would allow them to swarm and combining that with the many many large guns. I think the Vong would be able to knock out the MSD's shielding at least in part, their fighters get close and that would be game. Even if the Resurgence had point defense guns there is no way it would have enough of them to stop tens of thousands of fighter craft from chewing it to bits. Plus if those fighters hit something vital like a shield projector or several and take down a portion of the shielding... well that's just a faster checkmate
I wish they would re-record The new jedi order (Yuuzhan vong set) audible set in the full Unabridged format (ie the complete book) and have them read by Marc Thompson
I assume both could just "Holdo" each other with hyper capable auxiliary craft, but life is less fun if we reduce our fantasy space battles to immutable MAD.
@Vanya C Finn's comment in TRoS was purely there to address & quell fan backlash of that particular scene, doubt it had any real weight to it other than that. The powers that be didn't put that much thought into any of the backend anyway. Or the entire trilogy for that matter. It was "rule of cool" 100% of the way. Some author may extrapolate some bullshit about the shields into a page or two in an obscure source book or something, which will ultimately be marginally canon until it isn't.
While I like the Worldship more I can see why the Supremacy won. It's superior firepower would be overwhelming. I'd like to make some suggestions for future videos. Waiting for the battle breakdown of Yuuzhan'tar from The Unifying Force
This was a really cool video!
"Supercarriers are pissing contest" -generation tech
Looking through reccomended after watching an impulse vid
"25 minutes ag"
Ah nows a better time than any!
That “Coral” The Walking Dead reference was great 😂👍
I went right to imagining the Yuuzhan Vong World ship pooping around space as its flying around.
Almost 6 miles a day? Respect.
I loved this series, glad to see it back, thanks eck for this gift
Cool video!
I'd always love to see a Starship VS featuring the Bellator.
Honestly, I have doubts that the Supremacy actually could put out that much fire power.
Because watching the movie, multiple times it really just didn't when it should have.
@@gonkdroid4603 yes, a range of a measly 50 km or so, if the tactical holograms are to scale (and that seems to match most 'live' shots in the film, too)
That said, a lot of power was being shunted into the engines, which (presumably) had to keep constantly accelerating, since the Resistance ships apparently were.
Maybe they can fire further, but not with sufficient hitting power - that said, these were the 'arcing' laser/plasma bolts.
And yes, maybe it looked further onscreen, but seemingly, not by much.
As much of a dumpster the sequal was, the Supermacy was actually one of the rare good thing that was presented. Because for the role it was meant for, the design actually made sence while looking good at the same time. Even the way it went down belong to the rare moment of lucidity the plot had, if not the only one.
Thanks so much for a starship versus!!!!!!
What if Exegol Sith Armada vs the entire Yuuzhan Vong Army?? I wanna see if the vong is capable of defeating the armada independently.
How about the army of the zann consortium against the first order/sith eternal army
@@lordofcreation3498 That would work. Nice idea.
@@Zakku_Kousaka thanks
I got a good vs match idea for ya gears of war vs doom. so the humanity at full strength with sentinels and doom guy with the demons of hell vs the COG with delta squad and locus. Maybe to get crazy you could add Maykrs and lambent. I feel like both army’s are a about equally matched, I’d think doom has the edge.
@@zeradus In reality, unless you are using Argent energy, none of those weapons would damage the Slayer due to his praetor suit (which in itself is inmune to even the most advance armaments) and the Argent barrier that surrounds him, so yeah, not even the Hammer of Dawn could hurt him even a full power, for the other side of the spectrum you are right, demons would easily beat both humans and locust simultaneously, Hell not only has the numbers, but even demons like the imps and tanky are powerful enough to subdue almost anything of its tier
Would've been cool if the "coral" material the Vong ships were made out of was the same as the Orbalisks that Bane unintentionally adopted as his armor millennia prior
Nope but very similar to the vonduun crab armor the vong wore in combat.
It’s good to have you back eck
I see the video finally rendered, well worth the wait though 👍
At last, another vs Episode. Glad you listen to your fans, Ecks!
@EckhartsLadder I'd love to see a versus episode with the USS vengeance from Star Trek into darkness.
This seems like a race between the superior frontal firepower of the star destroyer vs thousands of coralskippers pounding the star destroyer almost unmolested from behind.
“It can probably stay out of the area where it’s gonna get it shields sucked off.”
-Eckartsladder, 2021
Emperor-Class Battleship vs Executor SSD!
Next match: interdictor melee
A good while ago, I suggested a match between the Rebel’s CC-7700 & the Imperial’s Immobilizer 418 cruiser. If there are any better interdictors to slug each other, then please replace ‘em accordingly. Otherwise, I’d like to know which one is superior & such…
Please, regale, @Admiral Wullf Yularen.
Anything else, @Admiral Wullf Yularen? Because I was imagining some sort of hardening contest between Metapod & Kakuna (Pokémon metaphor)…
🤨 . . . Well, if you’re referring to _Empire at War_ , @Admiral Wullf Yularen, then when they turn on their gravity well generators, do they still move or ? ? ? Because I honestly believe THAT to be a huge factor, especially in regards to comparing gameplay mechanics vs lore, why I brought up that Metaphor…
Yes! I love Starship / Galactic versus! I still think you should do one of these that involves a ship or faction from the Japanese science fiction show “Space Battleship Yamato” which was released in the US 42 years ago today as “Star Blazers.” I’d love to see a Galactic between the Courscant Defense Fleet and a Gamilas fleet. Then again, I’d be extremely happy if you did any video that mentioned Space Battleship Yamato.
Heres the thing I noticed about the sequel trilogy...
Awful movies, characters and plots.
Fantastic ship design.
That bothers me.
EL: A very interesting ST versus video
Me: You are so right!
Much love❤️
I know of a ship in Legends that did take on a world ship and win. It was Domain Lah and the ship was the Super Star Destroyer Lusankya, for the New Republic Navy. Part of the Borelias defence strategy Emperors spear.
Here’s a better question. Could the Covenant with High Charity and it’s fleet with the CSO from Reach take on the Vong. Also pretending all CSOs haven’t been destroyed already
Here's an idea for a vid: Yuuzhan Vong vs. Tyrannids
I would love to see an ISD from Star Wars vs the Defiant from Star Trek. I honestly don't know if the maneuverability of the Defiant is enough to allow it to destroy the ISD but it would be fun to see EckartsLadder's thoughts.
Keep doin this kind of vids man.
Babylon 5 the Earth defense of Earth vs the covenant attack.
Or the Halo defense of Earth vs the Minbari attack.
The Empire vs the Shadows or the Vorlons from Babylon 5
The Babylon 5 universe vs ether something from the Star war universe or the HALO universe I would love to see some Babylon 5 love once.
Factions
Fighters non Star Wars. Babylon 5, HALO, Stargate, the Last Starfighter, Battlestar Galactica or Space: Above and Beyond
Capital ships non Star Wars.
What Faction has the best planet attack capability
The Supremacy is probably the best ship the first order could have owned. Too bad they misused it as a battleship instead of as a hidden shipyard.
Exactly. Another thing they should have done is turn that enourmous production capacity towards droid fighters.
Cheap, effective, numerous, and don't require the manpower that the First Order lacked.
@@Banchoking Hell they could have gone a step further and had it be old CIS Tech
The supremies was miss used in the movies. I tbink it has some deathstar lasers, because jj.
The maga projector plus the gravity generator thing could make an interesting shield. Basically vomit out a bunch of magma, let it cool. Move it around the ship with the grav gen, instant asteroid field for projector.
Good episode!
Would like to see Narn Ka'Toc destroyer from Babylon 5
V.S,
Hunter class destroyer CAF from Rifts.
Very interesting video! Will you do more battle breakdowns? Its my favorite series on this channel
Episode 8 should've been the Vuuzhan Vong being a huge treat to the galaxy, not a Mon Calamari cruiser worrying about fuel and Holdo
All ranged weapons are just variations of throwing rocks at people. Bullets? Little pointy rocks. Nukes? Big spicy rocks.
5.1 k views in an hour? Your loved bro.
That moon really pulled a Holdo Maneuver on Chewie lmao
Damn bro
Too soon
@09:55, a yuuzhang vong black hole? HOLY MAGOG WORLDSHIP , BATMAN
Hi Ec love your videos they teach me so many more things about star wars than I would have know by my self .
Dude made me split with the coral joke 💀
Because of the thumb nail I will not lie I thought for a second this was ur second chanle playing the Yoaden MOD.
I love your content! Maybe you can compare a small fleet comprising of like a harrower and some other old sith ship against a early small rebel fleet
Was gonna ask for a battle breakdown of the Lusankya against the Worldship but this works. Lol
Thank you!
Hi! Great video! The Supremacy could not beat a Shielded crusier... so the Vong ship would make short work of it! In my opinion ofc :)
The new Rogue Squadron audible book is incredible. I hate abridged, low quality titles. Plz, do the whole series!
If you setup the scenario where they are in an empty void, and they just go head to head, and the Vong not only stay directly in front of them but at a good range for the Supremacy, and ftl is disallowed, and the vong don't use Grutchin. Then yes Supremacy has a slight edge.
You heard it here first folks, Yuuzhan Vong suckin' them shields off all day erry day
Interesting matchup but i'll go with the supremacy.
I miss these versus. I wish your team would do mock fleet versus
People designing the supremacy: let’s make it look pretty normal but still very big
People designing the yuuzhan vong: S Q U I D
Squid is superior
Id love to see live action vong war, like a dark war movie with troops on the ground... would be sick
Please do the CIS C9979 vs the Republic Acclamator. The space battle might be slightly one sided but I want to see how their ground forces can duke it out!
Haha, I like how if you play things back at 25% from 3:55 you sound just like Rick
Who would win:
EU: Wedge Antilles, Jag Fel, and Pre-Jedi Coran Horn
Flying XJ7 X-Wings
vs
Disney: Wedge Antilles, Yrica Quell, and Poe Dameron
Flying T-85 X-Wings
I think the main issue would be the Yamask, the Vong would have the edge in fighter craft (I think) and that would allow them to swarm and combining that with the many many large guns. I think the Vong would be able to knock out the MSD's shielding at least in part, their fighters get close and that would be game. Even if the Resurgence had point defense guns there is no way it would have enough of them to stop tens of thousands of fighter craft from chewing it to bits. Plus if those fighters hit something vital like a shield projector or several and take down a portion of the shielding... well that's just a faster checkmate
i dunno if he mentioned it, but all worldships also had a superweapon
I still need to read those books.
The beast from Homeworld Cataclysm vs Star Wars universe
I've been rereading some Vong era legends books so this video is great timing!
First, and thanks for the great video. As this was a interesting match up but a bit off given the sheer size of the World ship
I wish they would re-record The new jedi order (Yuuzhan vong set) audible set in the full Unabridged format (ie the complete book) and have them read by Marc Thompson
Supremacy vs Viscount Class Star Defender
I love all the comments saying that the worldship can just pull the old Holdo maneuver and "clearly win".
No one wins when they're both destroyed.
I assume both could just "Holdo" each other with hyper capable auxiliary craft, but life is less fun if we reduce our fantasy space battles to immutable MAD.
@@argentaegis Exactly. That's the problem with introducing that concept. While it looked cool, it opened up a whole can of worms.
Halo vs Star Wars: What if humanity in Halo had been invaded by the Yuuzhan Vong instead of the Covenant? And what if the Covenant invaded the Star Wars galaxy instead of the Vong? Also Autumn-class heavy cruiser vs MC90 Star Cruiser.
I hate how the supremacy got destroyed cause a simple interdictor field would have prevented it. And also prevented the entire episode which would have been a win win
