It's funny because I do not understand anything when I read the instruction manual but I learned all the functions watching your video 😀, thank you very much and greetings from Carmelo, Uruguay 🇺🇾
I like to install an abacus near the triple clamp. Just slide a colored bead across for each gear up then reduce a bead for each gear down. Side benefit, I can solve complex equations while sitting in traffic
Having just purchased this smart unit I can't believe its got all these great functions. Thank you very much for making it so very easy to understand how to change all the functions available, with the added bonus of showing each setting with a counter number to know which section to check out for any further changes...awesome 👍
Just had one fitted to my BMW G650GS. The X-type doesn't rely on gear position data from the onboard computer/ electrics but instead uses a wheel speed sensor in association with the G650GS inbuilt crankshaft sensor and tacho signal. The wheel sensor is mounted over my front wheel ABS disc. After a couple of failed attempts at getting the unit to "Learn" the gears correctly, the Glpro now seems to be indicating the gear position with about 95-98% accuracy. The readout will occasionally stray from the correct gear but will correct itself within one or two seconds. (basically when teaching the unit, you need to learn NOT to change up until the correct prompts appear on the display- if you make an error, you need to clear the data and default to factory settings before you try again.) I am fairly happy now with the units performance. No gear is indicated if the clutch is even partially in. Installation of the wheel sensor and wiring took about 5 hours so it wasn't exactly straightforward. (It would be quicker if it wasn't a first install.) This will be an expensive modification if you don't do it yourself.
Man, this is info I really needed. I had no idea it even had that button up top and all those features. My FZ6 came with a GiPro installed with no instructions. Assuming mine actually has any of that.
I really love having it. As many have said, most of the time you don't need it, but when you'Re unsure, it's great to just know what gear you're in. The extra features are very nice in this model too.
Absolutely yes! It's on my list. I'm just waiting for a free day with good enough weather. Sadly that's getting tougher all the time now that winter is on the way!
This is something I can REALLY Use on my own FZ1... So many times, when I am in the twisty mountain roads, it is hard to be certain if I am in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th as I brake hard into a tight curve to be in the 'right' gear to roll on the throttle for the exit... I have a very good sense of what gear I WANT to be in for the exit, but not always sure which gear I got into during braking... I am a bit concerned about setting the "Redline Shift Indicator" in 2nd gear... I would be running over 160 K/PH...

Impossible to say really. Different temperature, different fuel, different tyres, Dirty Air Filter, old sparkplugs, different exhaust system, different altitudes, or maybe just different riding style. It used to work properly with my previous bike - Yamaha XJ6. PZracing lists FZ1 as supported but with no ABS, so not sure if it has something to do with the issue ...

@@AndyManCam still not working. I called the shop they send me a list to check all possible problems, i called the shop back and explained it to them, the shop owner in The netherlands should call me back butt never did.
Δημήτρης Κριτσιανης indeed. You have to release the clutch to let the system know in which gear it is. So you have to ride (or in case of neutral standing) in that particular gear to see were you in. Hope this make sense :)
Tanks for the heads up! One more question; When you hold the clutch in, does the gear indicator show a line/dash for you as well? Mine does, and it's a bit annoying when I have the clutch in when I'm waiting to enter roundabouts/intersections or at red lights.
That's what I though. But I don't remember having this issue with either of the other bikes I've put Heal Tech gear indicator on. That being a 2009 Kawasaki ER-6F and a 2011 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom. Installing the gear indicator on those were plug and play, so that might have something to do with it.
Did you make the same mistake I did? Or did you not get to the part where I realised that I’d made a mistake! If it’s not recognizing the gears, then one of the wires is probably wrong. Make sure you’re using the wire colours from the bike, not from the sensors.

Thanks! Yeah it got a bit out of hand. My current CB1000R is a LOT tidier now!
@@AndyManCam haha I'm just making light hearted jokes. There's a few things I wanna put on mine but I also like it nice and clean. 🤷♂️
It's funny because it's true though! There was a LOT of stuff fitted in there! 😁
The actual gear indicator looks fine. The rest is just a waste of time and trying to justify the cost.
Possibly. Though I think some of the functions could be useful, in the right scenarios.
Why such a complicated system. When all you need is to know.what gear you are in.
And how do you propose to find out what gear you’re in?! You need the information that the various plugs and wires collect to calculate it!
@@AndyManCam there are simpler systems that calculate the gear position by the gear lever position and through a simple magnetic sensor.
Sound expensive
TBH, not all that expensive. Less than 100€. And for the quality and features, very good value.
My bike 2016 abs xj6. Its didnt work.
Did you contact Healtech to see if you fitted it correctly?
