I've found the Healtech to be fine in a sprint ST triple.
The setting that says delay is to deal with our own variability in how we shift.
By setting a longer delay with a higher threshold it stops the accidental cutting of the engine and it stops the variability of our shift action affecting the actual shift. The idea is to increase the delay to make sure enough time is given to reach the threshold and that it's not just an accidental slight tap of the gear lever.
I thought your shifts seemed good at both low and high rpm.
Removing any play in the linkages by renewing them Helps the feel a lot.
I was so paranoid about over tightening the sensor that my gear arm was loose on the gear spindle... So I turned on the phone app and kept tightening the nut until I saw it was beginning to read on the sensitivity then of course back it off. This made sure the arm that the Bolt went through wasn't too tight but not too loose either.
Very good video. Very clear diction and good camera work.
lovely video, thanks! I've been fortunate enough to test this lovely mod and it does cut the mustard really well! And the price is way better than the counter option's! I have to tell you this isn't the first HealTech stuff on my bike and won't be the last that's for sure! I love my GIpro as well and the Speedohealer is a must too... cheers!
Gabor Hegedus Thanks for the feedback Gabor, looking forward to testing it very soon on the street! Ive had a HM plus on the bike so will be good to compare like for like :)
Took her out for twenty minutes or so today and i ramped the sensor sensitivity all the way up and it deffinetly made a big difference. I also put the cutoff delay to 10ms.. i might turn up the cut off delay alittle bit to see how the bike responds in coming days.
Thanks for the heads up, will be ready to test mine on the road next week, can't wait :)
Ive fitted this unit but its always nice to watch somebody else do it so I can see Ive done nothing wrong
Came from the healtech vid, me mum thought i was watching some softcore porn because of the background music lol
Thanks for the vid Mate. I fitted mine tonight and it didnt take long as I had the heads up how to do it. Being the latest version it says it is adaptive so we will see. If not I will put it into expert mode and set the kill times.
+Rob Defire thanks Rob, I also have the iqse model fitted to my other bike so doing an updated video shortly but adaptive mode seems to work well 👍
Nice an easy on your blade but a different story on an R1 2005 , but with a great help from a friend success, just need dry weather for road test .
Fantastic write up!
nice vid thanks, i have a healtech on my 2015 kawa Z1000 and have to say i wouldnt use it below 5000 rpm as its crude to say the least and certainly not smooth and fluid, and even then only works well in the higher rev range if on the shift rod and not as advised by Healtech on the spline.
this is just my opinion but no matter what settings you try the sensor is just not consistent enough for lower rev changes, works well enough in the high rev range which i guess is what a quickshifter is designed for.
Anyway thanks for a nice informative vid.
I just installed the healtch quick shifter on my z1000 2016 sooo you recommend to start using above 5000 rpm?
This is a test-run in higher rpm range: ua-cam.com/video/PLcBnk6NFkI/v-deo.html
For my experience on my 2004 cbr1000rr it does change gear okay in lower rpm ranges after tuning the killtimes a little bit down from standard. But the high rpm ranges, it just slides lovely into the next gear like ... (place nasty comparisation)...
Great video.
Do you need to have Bluetooth on once installed or just for installation?
Very nice and professional video! Good job
Thanks very much Mike :)
Thanks Mike :)
Great video, what you recommend for my gsxr1000 2016, healtech or hm plus, I'm doing 75% road 25% track ? Great content, keep it up Lamb chops.
Waiting for your on road test video.. Great vid.. Waiting for mine to arrive at least I know what to expect..
Shouldn't be to long Muhammad :)
The one problem I have with your video is you don’t show how you hooked up the ignition wires??? Since you describe everything so well why not show us visually.....thanks!
It get his power from the coils and the earth of the battery. If the engine runs then it wil work. Like he says in the video
Chops......In your humble opinion, who makes the best quickshifter? I have a Healtec on my VFR 800 and I’m looking to install one on my Tiger 800 as Triumph don’t do one for my bike? Is Healtec one of the better ones still or are there others you know of.
Tranlogic seems to be the best all round quick shifter I did alot of research spoke to 4 different mechanics and all said to me allso tranlogic is way to go.not cheap doe
If I want to drive without the shifte, can i just pull out the small cable from the box?
The sencor cable?
Thanks from sweden
Hello
Please excuse my ignorance, but is this installation just plug and play or you need to adjust ECU etc,??
It's not plug and play.
no adjustment required to the ECU.
if you want a plug and play quick shifter buy a tranlogic far bar job all round
Video and discussion is extremely helpful. Thks all!
Ive got one of these fitted to a gsxr1000 that i brought. I didnt install it and the sensor is attached to the top of the gear linkage rod, its not all that smooth when changing gear (clutchless) do you think i should move the sensor to where you have yours placed ?
how does it connected to bluetooth? does bike have to on?
hi, is this unit only for upshift or can it be used for downshift?
thanks
Can be used for both
it cuts ignition both ways
cant be used for downshift you need a drive by wire system to blip the throttle cable throttle bikes cant auto blip downshift.
@@hingholo8027 works both ways. Doesn't need drive by wire. Just installed on my 2020 GSXS-750Z. Switch only knows pressure not direction to cut injectors so it works both ways.
@@racylaserjet you can clutch less downshift while inejctors are cut.
amazing video, so informative
why you mount sensor on arm and not on rod?
can the quickshifter be connected directly to the power commander instead of ignition coils ?
Thanks for this review. I'm thinking of getting this unit. I currently have a Dynojet Power Commander V that is linked to my coils, do you know if I will be able to attach this unit without issue due to my Dynojet fuel management being connected? I take it the Dynojet should have some type of way to piggyback the Healtech QSE?
+Las Rick (Laz) yes you can piggy back again off the coils if your PC connects to your coil packs, not all of them do depends if it has the ignition option included.
Just put a video up on my page running the qse through the gears if you want to check it out.
Cool vid. Very well explained. Look forward to see how this performs. It's got quite a mountain to climb to be as good/better than an HM unit Imho :-)
Thanks Russell, yes I agree but my expectations are high! Took a HM plus off the bike to test this so can do a back to back comparison :)
Fantastic Video
Good vid just fitted one to my track bike ,slightly different set up as mine installs into injection connectors rather than plug which means I have to have bike running before Bluetooth will connect to phone
+samr1 hi Sam, ok that's different what bike is it?
Lamb Chop Rides ,hi its a Yamaha r6 5sl 2004 ,
+samr1 ok thanks for confirming. Guess it must have a non coil pack setup with separate coils
Lamb Chop Rides , yes quite possibly everything else is the same apart from that but just goes to show to check fitment chart for each bike ,app for I phone as expected,
samr1
Thanks for the video. Curious though as to where your getting the kit with the sensor from as I note the following on the manufacturers web site :-
"The QSE sensor is not available in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Japan and China due to patent claims in these countries. Available in all other countries through our distributors and dealers."
Hmm odd Steve, I got mine from bikersdiscountstore.co.uk as shown in the vid.. Unless something has changed..
Lamb Chop Rides
Strange, it would mean they are effectively out of the market if they can not sell the sensor in those countries as that a big demographic to alienate yourself from.
Yes, just check BDS no longer list it.... I think they have got in trouble with a patent infringement on the sensor... Will try and find out
Lamb Chop Rides Some info, they have been removed from sale temporarily due to a patent infringement on the location of the sensor. Healtech hope to have it resolved with a week. I've been advised to ask potential buys to phone the in country dealers and ask about stock..
Many thanks LCR. Be good if they can resolve it as the strain gauge they use does open up a lot of applications which have a cramped linkage layout.
Looks like a neat kit, but there is no way the strain gauge is accurately measuring preload from that sensor on the bolt. I would be concerned about accurate preload and associated wear on the transmission parts over a proper inline strain gauge.
The new sensor does fit in line on the shift rod, but it does work very well where it's located. I know it doesn't look like its going to work located there but I've had no problems thus far.. Have just fitted the latter sensor now though to stop the false down shifts cuts
What happens when you move the gearshift lever down instead of up? Does the sensor see a downward movement? (Shifting in the direction 6-5-4-3-2-1)
Ps I don't want it to interrupt my ignition when I switch to first gear
The only may it works is if it cuts ignition.
awesome video! quick question...is the install the same on a carb bike? the bike in question is a cbr600 steelie f3.
+bunty1986 after watching the video, i feel this kit will totally work on any carbed bike, with the right "wiring lume" as the guys state. though to be honest i feel that on older, simple carb'ed bikes you can probably buy the kit, sans lume & just make your own with the proper gauge & length of wire.
Lamb.... when you plugged the piggy back plugs in is their an order in which they should go? Like are they numbered? Also the 2 plugs with the red marker on do they both plug into the same coil pack or do you split them between 2 coil packs? Or and lastly does the red marked ones have a specific coil to go on? Thanks.
Depends on how many cylinders your bike is if it's four it doesn't matter where you plug them if it's three use red marked on 1st and 3rd coil if 2 use only red
Also if one cylinder use the red one with the power wire it'll have three wires instead of two hope this helps you
Can you give me your settings so i can try them out on my bike ? I hope it hasnt been pin locked ........
Hi.will.this fit my daytona 675 normal 2015 model ? Does it come with up and down shift both ? And does it work smoothly on a daytona ? Where to buy this if you ca share the link..your response will be highly appreciated
Great video! Looking to purchase a quick shift for my 2012 Speed Triple. This seems to be a good option. Looking forward to your performance review. Thanks!
Shouldn't have to long to wait Rayo I hope :)
Ive just installed healtech QS on my 07 cbr 1000.. have you also noticed the sensor is extremely sensitive?
Yes does seem to be Michael, have you tried it on the road? Adjust the sensitivity from the app?
hey, do you have the "old" sensor or the new one? cause mine look different than yours. cheers
Can this quick shifter be connected to yahama-fzs ver2 with stock ECU or should we change the ECU for connecting the quick shifter
+arockia prakash it should connect fine, send Translogic a message they can confirm 👍
I have honda cbr1000rr 2008 I got instal healtech quickshifter when I shift from first gear to second some time go to neutral can you give me advice how to make run better!
increase the sensor threshold and test it if it don't works, try increase the cut off delay
Is that a lithium battery? If so what did you think of it?
Next time my Dynojet one dies I'll be getting one of these
Did you get a healtech? I have a power commander v and wonder should I install and how
do you know any Quickshifter brands that make kits for old bikes with carberateurs? I got a Suzuki gs 500 and I want to build a track bike from it. But I don't know if it is needed to plug a Quickshifter in to the computer of the bike. Or just between the coils and the plugs. If you know what I mean.
Ok, I will do that, thnx
@@MarijnKramer13 and?
So once the settings are set, are they sent to the unit? or is it constantly querying your phone for its settings?
The setting are stored on the unit, the phone connects and downloads them each time. You then make adjustments on the phone and when compete upload to the unit
man, are you daft???? why the hell would you even consider the phone has to be used all the time?? offcourse the settings are set in the healtech unit itself.... jezus,,, people are really getting dumb and lazy ...
NIce Video. Thats what i´m looking for. When can i reckon with the 2nd part?
KamiOneZ Setup on the paddock stand soon Kami but road test probably 3 weeks away unfortunately
Hey mate, do you know a lot about quick shifters? Got a mate that’s fitted one and can’t get it to work on the road. Works perfectly on stand but not on road. Any ideas
if its the healtech one then it could be on what he has set it to within the rpms
🙄 pay sum one that actually knows what he is doing
As it is a modification to the bike has anyone enquired as to how insurance companies will require for this mod?
You be a fool to tell an insurance company of this mod as there robing us as it is
how you liking the qs now that you've had it a while. thanks
Still very good Rob, lots of improvements on the firmware from Healtech so only getting better!
Robert Scott uy
Nice one, hope it's good so we can get a group buy:)))
Yes Mike at BDS could be up for that, worth a shot :)
I never use the clutch after take-off. Is this really much faster than burping the throttle?
Yeah it is William until you try it it's hard to understand, it also feels and sounds epic :)
Other then that for the price you cant beat this thing
HM Super lite QSH costs a little bit less and you dont need to get deeper into settings and it takes much less time for set up... but I am not quite sure if that thing is a reliable one.
@@planetnails100180 the HM is not as good and the settings are a PLUS, it makes it more adjustable, cause not every gearbox and engine are the same. The healtech lets you optimise it, which is awesome
yeah and the Translogics are more expensive and offered to way less bikes....
is this quick shifter up/down..?
Up
Can you still shift with the clutch even with this on ?
Yes.
What do you think? This is the best quickshifter or is iT the translogic ?
Translogic
Does this work for downshifts?
how do you know what to tune the timing to?
THE GRIFFISS Motovlogs That is where you need to set it up Mr G, I know someone who's used it great with the stock settings. But it recommends running it on the paddock stand and testing. Not sure how well that will work in truth but we will see soon :)
Is a dyno flash tune or power commander necessary with this setup??
+kit runner no nothing, just cuts ignition doesnt interfere with fueling. Hope that helps
Lamb Chop Rides yes thnx saves me $$.I purchase this stand alone for 315 where as buy dyno quick shift $130-200 + power command $300 or get my bike flash tuned $250-400 + then buy dyno qs $130.
Hey lamb chop, what setting are you running on your healtech quickshifter?
Hi Hamid, look at my other healtech ride and test review I show my settings in the vid :)
Lamb Chop Rides
Ok thanks heaps awesome video by the way :)
Mine wont pair with out a code? Where is the pairing code from healtech?
Is this quickshifter compatible with carburetted bikes? Thanks in advance...
Hey, you found a solution? I have a spark plug cap and not the new ignition coils and I'm looking for a solution
Sweet... Are you testing it over the winter or waiting until warmer weather comes?
Thanks Weeem, I hope to sneak a ride over the next couple of weeks for a quick test as soon as the bikes road worthy. Weather dependant of course don't do getting wet :)
Lamby, how does this compare to the HM+?
exuptoy I think its better Exuptoy, ive had both also. The only issue is cutting spark in both directions on the lever but the later sensor improves this.. Healtech have provided me one but ive not had time to fit it and test it yet..
can you buy just the sensor because my sensor has got a nick in it?
+Big Hoyle yes you can, if your in the UK contact BDS Racing they can sell you one 👍
ok this is irrelevant but i need some hlep, so i fitted the shiftier and i took it for a test ride and the engine jerks and sometimes turns off when i stat it up. this also happens when i put it in by-pass mode. any ideas thanks
Big Hoyle this is currently happening to me i had to connect back to original set up. Did u figure it out?
Mine wants a 8 digit password 4325 won't work
only app?
Application released for IOS recently.
what was the jumper plug for?
+The Muffin Man you know I never found out... think it's only needed on some bikes. Wasn't needed on mine
hmm ok thanks
Found out what the jumper plug is for.
You can use the jumper plug to turn off the QS function.
Disconnect the iQSE-1 module and connect the Jumper plug to the 4-pole plug of the QSH harness.
I just wish they weren`t so damn expensive,,,...I need one bad because of a medical isue with my left foot, and left hand...I`ll keep saving money until I can get enough to buy one...
Hopefully you have one by now mr
@@K-carbon Yes,I got got one several months ago and it's working awesome..
what is diference in versions qse and iqse?
Review update pls.
Coming very soon Props

What bike is this?

As shown in the awesome video, it's relatively easy to mount this set. And the results are just awesome. This is a test-run in higher rpm range: ua-cam.com/video/PLcBnk6NFkI/v-deo.html
Hey mate, do you know a lot about quick shifters? Got a mate that’s fitted one and can’t get it to work on the road. Works perfectly on stand but not on road. Any ideas?
@@davydtaylor4151 By now I could say I know at least enough about the Healtech quickshifter. Done 4 succesful setups know on three cbr1000rr's and one R1. What does it do different on the raod compared to on the stand?
Chopsy, old video I know but I had hours of frustration trying to get this system to work properly on my R6. I eventually binned their strain gauge sensor off because it just would not work properly. Miss shifts at high rpm, etc etc.
I fitted a normal Normally Open Ignitech pull quickshifter sensor, connected that up to the healtech control box, changed the settings for a normal sensor. Hey presto, the fucking thing starts working properly!
All those hours wasted trying to get it to work properly.
If I could do it again, I'd AVOID the healtech unit.
You can connect straight to the healtech adapter?
Not Behhdddd - good size
How can 25 people give a thumbs down to this! must be 25 nagging wives
Can i install this on my hayabusa?
Depuis l installation j ai des faux points morts
Showed everything but how he bridges the connections. You may as well just read the instructions next time 😂
Easy if you rip the fuckin bike apart. God damn.
No Apple support. That’s pretty wanky. There’s other ones that support both iOS and droid
No lo recomiendo para HONDA VFR 800 vtec...no funciona bien...da problemas eléctricos
@@JayVtec-GAMING me rompió el regulador de corriente y además me daba fallos eléctricos se apagaba la moto en bajas y mas historias.
The worst quikshifter in the world!!!! The biggest crock!!! Broken the electrics component!!!
what happened again? In English please...
You can't fix stupid 🤪
Do you still need a power Commander unit for this?
no
