2022 Jayco Pinnacle 32RLTS, I like the Jayvoice, especially if you enter the RV in the dark, Say "Jayco" pause " living room Lights" and they come on. Great when your hands are full. Also, works great going to the dark bedroom. Works well in my opinion. One downfall, maybe...is it will not recognize my wife's voice....LOL It has selective hearing 🤪

This is absolutely perfect ... If it didn't have floor vents. But even with them, I still wouldn't say no. Any nitpicks I have are very minimal. 👍✅✔👌✔✅👍

I just love the separation of the spaces, the placement and size of the appliances, and the thoughtful way it's been set up, with some great storage.

Nice. One of the few times I don't have some nit-picky criticism, though the Schwintek bed slide could be pointed to (but far better than a cable slide). I really like the back end, looks like a Class A.

I love the full-sized king bed and the 6-point leveling system in a shorter 5th wheel, and I like the high quality and finish. Camp side windows are superb, table and chairs are best, and I am so happy they also included a convection microwave. The TP holder inside the under-sink door is the same as our Newmar and it is great, you will love it. As for colors, I guess Diamond, but I wish manufactures would use more blue tones. If we were 5th wheel people, this would be high on the list. Oh, it does have a sexy looking rearend.

Good evening, Josh. I'm looking at this Pinnacle after listening to you and JD the other night and what you said about Pinnacle. I like this little guy. For its size it has a lot to offer. When you talked about "shaving down the bed platform,' that got my ears to perk up. Unfortunately, I don't have my hubby any longer and really don't even need a queen. But I do believe that the box supporting the bed platform is about the size of a standard full-size bed. Would it be possible to 'shave down" the bed plate form to the same size as the box underneath it and put a standard full size bed mattress on it? That would allow for a lot of walking room around it and some really awesome little nightstands. What do you think?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd

Unsure on going smaller than a queen but our folks may be able to measure that up for you

Really nice rig. I wish Jayco would install low profile ac units from either Dometic or Mach 8. I'd expect that from their top of the line models. Also, is this on a BAL or Lippert frame?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 місяці тому +1

I'm not familiar with any BIG fifth wheels like these on a BAL frame. the FWs I have seen on a BAL frame were typically smaller and nearly no FW builders use that now
Sorry - short answer: Lippert frame
Each mfg has lippert make their frames to their specs. About 6 years ago jayco had an issue with a north point model flexing. They had lippert add extra bulking to prevent it on ALL their floor plans. Not a coincidence jayco frames are heavier in weight, more costly, and their name has been all but absent from flex conversations

I could do without the shelf thing by the table (I know it would lose the outside tv too - not an issue), and chairs and just have a freestanding table with 4 chairs with storage in the seats. I HATE THE PLEATHER! Plenty of room in the bedroom as we would opt for a Queen

@@JoshtheRVNerd Regardless of make or model, I think they all should be located on the rear bumper or inside a storage compartment for easy access and have two of them for redundancy and safety. I guess I must be the nerdy nerd of the class, because about three or four years ago, my son and I drove from IL to TX with the cargo trailer to pick up the family sleigh 🛷 and we had two flats in two days both left sides with only one spare. Obviously I had to buy tires and rims so after that experience I don’t want to pull a trailer without a minimum of two spares. Perhaps I’m gun shy now or just overly prepfull; regardless having a flat on I-35 or anywhere else isn’t pleasant. And being a 55 year old old fart with more of a spare tire dad bod than you, It’s getting hard to move around on the ground, so don’t knock yourself down; you’re still a pup yet but you’ll graduate with the rest of us old timers and catch up. 😆That’s why I can appreciate things like spare tires 🛞 in convenient places. Let’s meet sometime for pizza and Coors Light. First round on me. Thanks for everything you do professor. I believe you are changing the industry. I enjoy being in your class. Cheers 🍻

Voice command is a kool feature. Love the special water to the tap and fridge. Actually the air conditioner noise doesn't bother me at all. We had a drop at type right over the sink stove area. So it was right above my head while I cooked and washed dishes. It never bothered me. Night light are a nessary in rural areas, I use them in my house now, one in each bedroom, kitchen, bathrooms and even 2 in each end of my T shaped hall. Yeah queen bed, I'd still prefer a double for 1 person, but it's still kool being able to have a real queen. Washer/dryer please! I don't like 5th wheels but this one ticks off my entire list of wants! Only downfall is the steps to the bathroom. Is it possible to take out the steps and put like a Tommy lift that goes up when you step on it stays up untill you step on it again to get back down? Generator yes and the largest Solar package I can get! Of course I'd have the factory third air. Not that I'd run all three at once, I only use the one air in the area I'm in. So how cold/hot will this model be safe in for an extended peroid of time?

@@JoshtheRVNerd: No, Josh, all three of my FW’s were Kestone products. But, if you look up countless videos of their brand new fifth wheels being torn apart due to frames cracking, (which I actually believe it is due to our shi&$y freeways and highways,) it is a serious problem, which could hurt not just the person towing it, but others beside, behind said vehicle.
I honestly don’t even know why I care about this, as we are downsizing to either an Ember or Geo Pro, but the video evidence is clear.
The company who welds the frame for their fifth wheels is not competent.
Watching today work force, it’s no surprise.

“Frame flex” is designed into most all wheeled chassis’s. Some flexing must happen to prevent a sort of rock on rock outcome. “Frame FAILURE” is a different beast. A very large number of 5th wheels with frame failure in the gooseneck area have been in older RVs and the majority were second owners. Not an excuse, just laying out the stats I’ve found. Having an overloaded unit, especially in that over-cab area, can cause this. An overweight condition period can contribute. Seems a significant number of folks don’t get on a CAT scale to weigh their GVWR and the axles. Some load the storage areas well beyond that GVWR and don’t balance that cargo. BTW, with the reading I’ve done Grand Design has the majority of complaints. In fact, I’ve only come across a couple of Jayco’s. I feel for these second owners. They have no idea how the unit was driven (rough roads, etc, are no no’s) and they’ve no idea how long that first owner drove it overloaded. I feel for them.
