Wow his heeling by the end was so great ! You’re such a great team . Cool that the e collar came in ! And the prong too!
Were you thinking of filming teaching him to pick things up for you ? I’m trying to teach my boy that currently ☺️
What is Astros favourite thing to do when he isn’t working and training ?
hi hi!! yes, i am going to film his learning process of picking things up! when we’re not working, we love to go on hikes, play, and snooze!!! thanks for the support katelyn!
Thank you for always using captions!
you're welcome! it takes a lot of time but soooo worth it!
Awww so cute💗
I love seeing y'all's progress! Definitely improving with each video.
hi hi!! thanks for watching!! i love seeing the progress as well!
Good job Astro!!! Now I wanna try the e collar.
thank ya chuyi! it's a great tool when used well, but i'm still in the learning phase ☺
I've prolly said this before, but it's so helpful and refreshing to see you and Astro working on the same, and very similar things my SDit and I are working on! I love seeing the progress you guys have been making, and you guys are such an amazing team! Ik you guys are still kinda new to it all (as am I) but you both have already become like my favorite SD team! ^^
As for the anxiety in the car before going in, I 100% relate to that! I can get so stressed about it sometimes I start to shake really badly, but seeing you overcome, and continue to work with confidence with Astro has been so helpful and inspiring! You have no idea how eye opening it has been for me! I feel like since I've started watching your channel, I've been putting a lot more time and effort in working with Suki in our local store parking lots, an we've been staring to make some real progress! Tysm for being the inspiration that helped me get back into making real progress! ^^
So cool you're going to start teaching to get things for you! I literally just taught Suki to pick his leash up for me too! And Astros focus and heel has been improving so much!! He's such a good boy!! ^^
(what do you use to record all your store trips with Astro while your in the store?)
hi hi!! awww thanks for supporting our channel 🥰 i really do appreciate everything you said ☺️!
watching the parking lot made me super anxious! but i looked at astro and i was like "I CAN DO THIS!". i'm glad this is inspiring! good luck with Suki!! how does Suki behave in your local stores?
I use a gopro mount. there's an amazon link in the video description! again, thanks for your support! reading this made my day!
@@AstroFromTheBlue the parking lot is definitely something my dog and I still need a bit more work on, especially when my family leaves us in the car, but we’ve been working on it, and he’s been getting better!
We’ve only been inside one public store (our local petstore) but he does really well inside of it! Sadly it’s pretty small tho, so it’s not somewhere we can really make much more improvements than we already have… But we do walk to Walmart and Carrs often and work in the parking lots and next to the automatic doors for some desensitization and just basic training! ^^
(I’ll check out the link for the go pro thingy, Thank you!!)
@@-teamsukiandcorny- what obedience training do you do
@@chrisvandoros1805 when I’m public we usually work on things like heel, focus, sit, down, sometimes stay, infrount, some tasks, occasionally tricks, leave it, and just things like that… we don’t always do all these things depending on if I remember about them, or how long were there… I also have just started on walking with Suki in a heel while pushing carts in parking lots, so that’s one of our current things we’re tackling ^^
@@-teamsukiandcorny- do you have videos
You too have made so much progress which is awesome. I and I also struggled in the beginning with giving my dog a treat to fart for me rather than lower down closer to her this way she wasn’t reaching up to far for it before I was ready to let it go. That’s great that he did so well in such a loud environment for his first time there. I might be wrong but I think himedeepo is pet friendly
hi hi! I love seeing you in the comments! Again, thank you so much for your support! Yes, Home depot is pet friendly!
@@AstroFromTheBlue thanks
Thank you for sharing this! I’m having a hard time getting watson to focus when we’re out. I’m not sure how to work on that except for lots of rewarding and treats.
Great video!
thank you!! glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
U guys r doing great! When we started using the HS prong collar it was such a game changer. My problem w/ it is the placement - I know it should fit high on the neck but ours keeps sliding down. I’ve adjusted the fit several times but she’s kind of between sizes & removing another link would be too tight. Any suggestions? Thx for the great vid!🐾
I hear that
hi hi!! we LOVE THE HS prong collar too!! astro adapted soooo well the collar and does not pull at all! we are actually struggling with the same thing! he’s in between sizes too! honestly, i’m not too sure, but i think having it a bit bigger would be better than having it too tight! ofc, hope to see you in the comments again!
@@AstroFromTheBlue glad the prong works great for you guys! It’s such a world of a difference when it comes to pulling! ^^
I’ve found that if you use a thicker collar like a 1.5 or 2 inch helps keep it up higher as it sits closer to the ears. It keeps it from slipping down. I like using an embroidered 2 inch personally for extra labeling and to keep the prong up.
@@-teamsukiandcorny- yup, it works wonders! it's made our walks way more enjoyable!
Omg thank u so much this helped as I am currently in this exact state of training my rescue to be my service dog. Do u still use the ecoller ?
Can i ask how you're filming hands free? I just realized that recording my dog and i's training sessions would be sooo much easier with something to record hands free with lol
hi hi! i use a gopro mount! i don't remember the name, but i believe there's a link in the description for it! good luck with your training
@@AstroFromTheBlue I see you have the chest mount listed. What’s the other one for?
I have mixed feelings about e collars.... I cant tell if they hurt dogs or not 😅i heard they are to be avoided.
Where did you get the leash for astro
❤
❤️
The e collar Should not be used as in correction
You guys are doing amazing! Love the videos
hi! yes we’re still learning how to use the ecollar!! thanks for your support!!
Can you make a place video and like what do you do for obedience
yes i can! i can record a “place” and obedience training session!
@@AstroFromTheBlue what do you do for obedience
I like your filming style. A different question is a y harness also an option?
thanks for your support!! we actually don’t use harnesses anymore, only for when we go out hiking! i’m hoping to get a service dog vest!
@@AstroFromTheBlue The reason I ask this I live in the Netherlands and prong collars are prohibited so that's why I thought of that or a gentle leader to moderate pulling
@@Liann888 hmmm! i personally have never used a y harness, but if you train your dog to walk with the y harness, i think it would be okay! are martingale collars allowed?
@@AstroFromTheBlue Slip collars are allowed just not during dog classes
What ecollar do you guys use
we use the mini educator!
Where did you buy your service dog Velcro label for your leash?
hi hi! i got the leash wraps from an etsy store! i can link it in a bit!
hi! the name of the etsy store is FurliciousPets ~ embroidered leash wrap!
Do you heel him ever walk
hi chris, can you rephrase the question? i’m a bit confused, but from my understanding, when we are in public i do want him to heel by my side for my control!
@@AstroFromTheBlue do you have an Instagram so we can’t talk about training
