Angel ~ Here's one of God's carvings that HE uses to call people to Himself. _''l will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. l will cleanse you from all your impurities, and all of your idols. l will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you. l will remove from you a heart of stone, and give to you a heart of flesh. l will put My Spirit in you, and move you to follow My decrees, and be careful to keep My laws. Then you will live in the land of your ancestors; you will be MY people, and l will be your GOD.''_ ~ Ezekiel 36 : 25 - 28. May He bless you and keep you Angel. :)

@@jenslack9407They called these people savages to begin with. Plus they were breaching their borders just like white American don't want Ecuadorians coming to the US. Those people were protecting themselves, their land, and their way of life.

These are true missionaries. What an inspiring piece of history. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for his saving grace. A wonderful lesson in forgiveness. I wonder what this tribe is doing today? It would be interesting to find out how their lives turned out all these years later.

So disgusting the missionaries...judging different ways of living, destroying them, feeling "better" and "chosen by god" to reign. Outrageous.

Prior to contact by Christian missionaries, these men, women and children were always on the watch, as they were often as pagans subject to harm or death by other members of the tribe. Chritianity is the only religion on earth that teaches forgiveness.

I feel that some people are missing the point here, but that doesn't matter! The fact that the people changed so much after hearing the word of God is what matters. Even though I am a Roman Catholic convert, I have always loved missionary stories and this is one of my favorites! I know Dayuma's story pretty well and I've always admired her ever since I first read her story a few years ago. She died several years ago and she was pretty old for an Auca woman. I've never heard their language before and it sounds kind of odd. However I do know Spanish.

Auca was the name given by the neighbouring enemy tribe. They call themselves the Waodani.
And for the judgemental hypocrites on hear condemning the missionaries, you would not know that if the missionaries had not gone. Watch "End of the Spear" and see the Waodani express thanks that the missionaries saved them from self-destruction. They had been almost wiped out by their warlike lifestyle.
It is astounding to me that fools can condemn others for being condemning. Moronic.

I hear you...but in this scenario, they were the ones who approached the indians. In that case, you you went with a specific mission, it would have been better to leave them alone than end up killing them
