I grew up with the stories of your dad, NateSaint. My dad, CliffTaylor, was in the army with Nate, and was so impacted by his love for the Lord and commitment to Him. They studied the Scripture together, and my dad is even mentioned in “ Jungle Pilot”. My son is named after your dad, and his son as well. Your family heritage is part of my heritage, and now our children’s. Won’t Heaven be glorious, as we worship the King of all, Jesus Christ, together!
Wow that’s amazing ! I first heard about this testimony when I was young and watched “ the end of the spear” and have gotten a few books. It’s absolutely incredible, I’m brought to tears every time I watch or read about it. It’s going to be a wonderful day in heaven. I can’t wait to meet everyone! The Lord is so good to us.
My name is John. I'm from New Zealand. In 2000 the BGEA generously flew me to Amsterdam for an evangelistic conference. I remember seeing and hearing Steve and Mincaye speak on center stage in the morning. The story so impacted me that I went home and learned it and now tell it to children throughout New Zealand. Through gates of splendor! Oh Lord life is fleeting. Help us oh Lord to number our days that we might gain a heart of wisdom.
The Lord called me when I was six years old...in a vacation Bible school...in a Baptist church back in the fifties when they told us the story of Jim Eliot's death.. I am now 71 and will never forget my first calling to the Work of the Lord.
Bittersweet, but I can't help but think of all the beautiful souls that will spend eternity with Jesus because 5 men were willing to lay it all down and their families kept going despite the pain. Praise to Jesus.
Amen. Iam part of a 3rd gen beleiver and my grand dad was evangelized by Baptist missionaries in the 1940's who never returned to their motherlands but were wheat seeds buried in our lands. Thnx to all missionaries world over.
I’m teaching your dad’s story to kids, and it’s just crazy to see the places mentioned in my material. RIP to your dad and the other missionaries, for their lives were not in vain. God bless you.
Steve, through you and your family's ministry God has touched millions of people. Your wonderful parents' and other missionaries' sacrifice never went in vain. As the Holy Bible says one man's soul is greater than the whole world. So, God will say 'my good and faithful servant'.
Thank you Steve, for sharing this happy but sad time with us. The heritage that is being passed on is so precious. In spite of everything, you are a truly blessed man. Each time I see you, I think of meeting you when you were a small boy in Equador. I’m guessing you were around 10 yrs. old...early 60’s. May the Lord continue to richly bless you and bring comfort to your body and protect the hearts and minds of your dear grandchildren as you pass the baton on to them.
God's story will continue. thank you for your obedience. the most precious thing: The Gospel of Jesus we shall pass on. without the Gospel there is nothing worthy of living. Glory to God.
Oh Lord ... How wonderful is Your work in our lives...!! Here from the other side of the world 🌎 with tears of joy and love ... We shall meet in the everlasting home. All glory be to God.🙏
I was blessed to hear about what God has done with these dear people after watching the end of the spear. I can't help but thinking in these days that God is showing us what He has done all through out the world by our faith in Him and how far we have become from Him in the US. These dear brother and sisters across the world are now ministering to us at home. Our neighbors here have forgotten their first love.
Thank you Steve, for sharing this with us. It is so beautiful to see the work that your mother and father and their friends still working today. God is indeed so good! Give a hug to Mincaye for us, and we are praying for you and your family (including our Waodani brothers and sister) always! Much love and God bless
The blood of the martyr's is the seed of the church. Brother Steve, your Dad and other missionaries laid their life for reaching the unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am very much encouraged that even your grand children willing to be the torch bearers. In comparison to what your Dad and you all suffered for Christ, my suffering is nothing. I was only imprisoned and debarred from the county in India. I am very much encouraged. May the good Lord bless you richly and continue to use you mightily for His glory. 🙏🙏
What a blessing your life has been, for me a panamanian what an honor to meet you while we were in Kansas City at what was called Kansas City Baptist Temple, today Graceway. I saw the movie, and followed your accident, always edifying my life, when I watch you I remember what you told me: "God writes the next chapter of your story and your children 's story. " Blessings my brother.
As a follower of Jesus Christ and fighting cancer , as a human your spirits can become so low and you feel so far away from our Savior. My dear friend and nephew of Ed McCully sent me Walking His Trail. Praise our Lord and Savior!! After reading Through Gates of Splendor and now just finishing Walking His trail God has lifted me away from the uncertainty of my illness. Never once have I asked God “why” I praise Him for it. He has His plan and I trust in His endless love and compassion. Thank you Steve and may God continue to bless you abundantly.
I bought a 1956 copy of Life Magazine in a flea market and found inside an article about the 5 missionaries that been killed in Ecuador. After reading, I "Googled " the Auca tribe , curious to see what had become of them. What a story.
I'm watching the movie "End of the Spear now", I needed to see who the real Steve Saint was, and who also flew the original plane for the movie! I can't wait to see the complete story?movie!
Hi everyone, would you please pray with me, that I may live a surrendered life....make the love of Jesus Christ known to everyone. I am grateful I learned about Steve's life

Leaders of the Huaorani group had expressed to the missionaries that they did not want their private lives molested any longer by the Christian outsiders. Eventually they had no other option but to carry out what they were threatening to do for along time. The Missionaries first made contact with the Huaorani by dropping bags of raw sugar & hard candies into the communities as they flew by. As time went on the missionaries continued to entice contact by air dropping toys, model airplanes & fruits that the people were unaccustomed to. W/in time the missionaries had established themselves well enough to touch ground & freely initiate their methods to evangelize. The missionaries were soon understanding that many individuals were non receptive or defiant to the Westerner's ways- giving up of their traditional beliefs, culture that was familiar to them. Where as others individuals that were more enthralled with the newcomers. The Missionaries had to eventually create divides amongst the communities. Creating "an are you with us or are you with them" scheme. The "followers" were told to leave their more traditional family members and start a new settlement where they were promised a church, school, Rice, sugar - "all of the gifts of God". Fighting & quarrels began within this newly contacted community. As traditional hunters/gatherers, the Huaorani were almost continually on the move. Relocating to new seasonal hunting, fishing $ harvesting areas. The group was soon planning on moving to another camp to Hunt. But the missionaries discouraged the move as that would make it impossible for the missionaries planes to reach the new grounds. The missionaries promised that God would continue to feed them in the form of rice- sugar & whatever else could be brought by plane & motorized boat if they stayed. Strife was smoldering. The missionaries began a routine of taking the "followers" with them in their outgoing flights, removing essential members of the tribe. This made it impossible for the tribe to move all together as an essential family. Eventually the missionaries were met with threats by the Community upon their return landings. The Huaoranis that were being sent off were being use as "poster childs" for furthur Evangelizing efforts for

you go invade the White House and teach them about the Bible to love everyone use your so-called missionary power to help the White House
