    Praise the Lord! Just thinking as I watched this that Stephen Curtis Chapman was able to fo all the things the 5 missionaries planted the seeds to do. Praise the Lord!

    I have been following this story over & over again, listening to Elisabeth Elliot's teachings on video & podcasts; watching Steve Saint's life after his dad's death, trusting God to write each chapter of his story .... How much are we able to trust God for ours? Who else can be more trusted with each 'next chapter' of our lives?

    This is what a missionary life should be. Give up everything that you can never keep to gain what we can never lose. Unlike modern missionaries who can't even serve 3 months in the field before wanting a furlough because they miss their mommy and daddy or the comforts of home.

    After "crossing the pond" & finding our home church in California, we quickly became close to 5 older people who would all eventually become, "honorary grandparents" to our children. A widow who, with her husband, headed the team up at Shell Mera & were witnesses at the Elliott's wedding in Quito. The other four were 2 couples & one of the men had been best friends with Jim Elliott & he also knew 2 of the other missionaries! We loved hearing stories of the missionaries as teens & also accounts of the day-to-day running of the mission station. One thing that was impressed upon us, through those first-hand accounts was that five, not one, young man was "promoted to glory" that day. I also came to see them as, not only obedient servants of our Saviour but also very human.... We must never look on their martyrdom (or, rather, "promotion") as having been in vain. In 2006, roughly 200 Waodani (Aucas or "savages" no more!) travelled, some long distances, through the jungle, to gather on the spit of land opposite "Palm Beach" for a meeting of thanksgiving & baptism. Steve Saint & others were accepted into the tribe, Steve himself was baptised by Mincaye, the very man who speared his father! Their lives should be an example to us, even now, in the 21st century - the harvest is still plentiful & the spiritual war continues. "In solemn truth I tell you that, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground, it remains what it was - a single grain. But, if it dies, it will produce a rich harvest" John 12 v 24.

      The Holy Spirit and God's perfect timing. Steve Saint was told by the men who murdered the missionaries that when the search party came to find the bodies, they watched from the jungle as the bodies were buried. While the search party was doing a VERY short graveside service, the Waorani saw an angelic host witnessing the scene. They understood they were spirits without anyone telling them so. They were terrified and knew they had done something very bad. When the women came, they did not see them as a threat and also because they had witnessed the angelic host, they wanted to know about their God.

       @Chris Little My pleasure. Through Gates of Splendour was one of the BEST books I ever read. If you haven't read them yet, may I also recommend Jungle Pilot by Russell T. Hitt, 1959, The Dayuma Story by Ethel Emily Wallis, 1960 and The Next Chapter by Steve Saint (by ITEC, here on UA-cam) which will bless your heart beyond measure. I absolutely recommend the originals (find on amazon) rather than the newer releases that have quite a bit of original material edited out). Enjoy your adventure into one of the most inspiring accounts of the modern times.

      The people they were trying to reach were originally called "Aucas" which is Quechuan for "savage". They were widely known as the fiercest tribe, killing not only their enemies but even their own family members! One of the females who had been among those who met the missionaries, ran away from the tribe as she had done something wrong & was afraid of the tribe killing her. However, the blame was directed instead at the missionaries & the tribe killed them thinking that they had either killed or kidnapped her.

    Sad, Steve Curtis is such a worldly, rock and rolling man. This is certainly all about him and not about reaching folk for Christ. It is the worship of Curtis and his entertaining ways of fun. It is not about coming out and being separate as the LORD commands.

      Val Lee Steven Curtis is an extremely humble man. Have you ever met him?

    • @ValLeeWeblog
      @ValLeeWeblog 4 роки тому +2

      @@wagnerfamily2043 It is not about Steven Curtis it is all about Jesus Christ and His holy inerrant Word from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. And this includes all the areas of the Bible which command believers to come out and be separate from a rock and rolling society.
      Both testaments are about forsaking satan's trendy and styling world and never uplifting man and his talent-the things made by man's hands which God condemns.
      True born again Christians desire to come out from amongst them-those who maintain the sexy and sensual beat of the world and its philosophies. Christians are only to hold to the Bible properly translated from the Greek and Hebrew, with no additions, subtractions. They are never being one with the satanic world. Satan is the ecumenical god and one day, during the tribulation, most will bow before him as he leads his ecumenical religion, which is all about idolatry. He is the god of immodesty as well and it is displayed everywhere in so-called Christianity, as few women desire to dress in shamefaced purity and innocence. They want to expose portions of their breasts, upper legs, etc. This is the way of the antichrist too, knowing promiscuous sex and immodesty will be known factors of arriving Mystery Babylon as exposed in Revelation and elsewhere.

      @@ValLeeWeblog That's your belief, your religion, Not mine! What I have learned so far about Born again christians is that you are judgmental, snooty, and over bearing with what you preach! Your basically saying he's Satanic, and I say you sound like a weirdo! And the crazy thing is you think you sound normal! But you don't and your not! Nothing about what you said is! Your perverted sense of thinking is nut's!! And your supposed to be a Godly woman? SMH

      Val Lee : if Steven Curtis Chapman is so worldly, then why are you watching this?! In reality, Steve is friends with Nate Saint’s son! He wanted to tell the story again for future generations! I think you are a little bit too full of yourself.

    • @ValLeeWeblog
      @ValLeeWeblog 3 роки тому

      @@ebriggs3498 It is my heart is to follow the apostles' example. For many walk according to what they think or have experienced or what others think or have experienced. This hurts my heart and such actions made Paul and the other apostles weep. We are to only walk according to Christ's and the apostles' examples and teachings without questioning-1 Corinthians 11:1, 1 Thessalonians 2:3-4, 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 2 Peter 3:2 and Jude 17, etc. The Word of God never changes to suit manufactured doctrines, entertainment, and activities! Those who do not obey are the enemies of Christ, whose end is their destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is their shame, who set their minds on earthly things; Philippians 3:17-19. Marxists teach if someone teaches truth then attack the messenger.
