Hi everyone! Thank you so much for pointing out the mistake with the picture at 00:33. We appreciate the attention to details you have when it comes to case information. Indeed, it is a photo of Lawson family parents. We've put the note for future viewers in the description with the link to the correct image. We have been working on that case too and it will be published this Sunday 😉 Sorry for the confusion and here are the real parents: res.cloudinary.com/jerrick/image/upload/f_jpg,q_auto,w_720/63a249ebecd4de001dac5b39.png
TCR,Amy & Chris it's Christmas eve, I want to wish you both a very Merry Christmas ✨️🤶 🎅🎄☦️🛐 and always a safe 1... God Bless & loves🕊🙏💕 from me here in Tri-Cities, Washington state
I spent 37 years in fire investigation. I used K-9’s. Has anyone ever gone to the property with Human Cadaver Recovery dogs that have fire scene training? I’ve worked with dogs that can find centuries old grave sites. In the thousands of fires I’ve investigated I’ve never seen a human body totally consumed by a house fire.
There's definitely too much stuff popping up after the fire to believe that those kids died in it. What a puzzling story. Chris, thanks for telling it so well and so intriguingly.😊
The picture they show in the beginning is not a picture of the sodder parents that's a photo of Charlie Lawson and his daughter Marie from NC murders of the Lawson family, happened in Madison NC.
I kind of doubt that there were five child bodies in the house when the fire department searched it. It's bizarre but sometimes the most simple explanation is absolutely not the correct one. I suspect that the suspicions that the kids were kidnapped is what happened. Seems there was a bit more evidence for that than the kids having died in the fire. The ladder being thrown in a ditch and his cars both not being operational is definitely set up for kidnapping as well as the phone line having been cut. Bizarre mystery. Somebody should definitely do some examination of the soil in the area just to see if there are any traces of remains that were not found previously. If nothing is found I think it's clear they were kidnapped. Thanks for bringing us such a blast from the past type of story. Mysterious and so well told, as always.❤🎉
I think the five young children could have been kidnapped, before the fire apartment put out the fire. I don’t really think that the kids would definitely perish in the fire, since there are no remains lift in aftermath to suggest. That those five kids definitely died in the fire that night. Also I think the fire could be deliberate and set up, as it’s strange that the leather was missing in the usual spot. The car was not working and phone line is dead. Believe there are foreplay and and the kids, gets kidnapped as a payback for something.
Hi Chris. 👋 ive been watching you and Amy for years and years and imo this is the most tragic and 'somethings up' story you've covered. I feel so damn sad. 😢 Thank you for a great coverage. ❤
I love you guys!!! I love your relationship, I love how real you both are, I love that I can get my true crime in half the time! !!!!Wishing you both the happiest of holidays❄️🎄🙏🏽🥰❤️
I am surprised this sad incident still hasn't been made into a feature movie as yet. Perhaps Chris's excellent coverage and summary of the highlight key points here shall initiate interest finally to make a fair storyline into a solid movie?? Jim C.
Ah yes, the Sodder Missing Children case; this is a puzzling one. You could very well be right, Chris, about the simplest solution is probably the correct one. I'm not necessarily saying they all died in the house fire, and George accidentally destroyed the forensic evidence; I'm saying it's the most plausible. I really don't know what happened. I just don't know. Thanks for the video, Chris. And to the TCR Fam, be genuine and take care of one another. And have a safe and happy holidays. Until next time.
That could be a possibility, but I think evidence still would’ve been there. Even if George covered the evidence accidentally, if it not been terminated by other people.
Great video :) such a sad but fascinating case. Here are a couple of additional interesting facts if you’re interested. In regards to the picture of Louis that was addressed to the mom, Jennie, she did had a brother named Frank Cipriani, who could be “brother Frankie”. The Sodder family had initially suspected him because he lived in Florida. There were witnesses who saw the children get into cars with Florida licence plates. Even the Sodders believed this theory that Jennie’s brother took them because it would’ve been someone they knew. Thank you again for a great video.
Wait, I have not heard anything about Maurice and the younger boy having to put the cows and chickens away beforethey went to bed. That's a first and very odd. My family were farmers in Jackson County and I know that a good farmer would have fed and put them away before dark.
No how many times Ive heard a story ( and Im a huge crime buff) You and Amy always seem to find out more about the crime and evidence. But Evidence dont lie. I cant accept the kids were in the attic, with NO trace of them in the remains. AFter than, I have no clue Great story, even tho its super tragic. I cant even imagine losing some of my children. Sad Sad.
It probably was an accidental fire and incompetence on the fire department's part. The children did probably die in the fire but through incompetence their bones (which would be quite small) were overlooked and then their father buried the evidence further into the ground. All of the different "weird" happenings may not even be true, families have a tendency to grab ahold of the smallest details to hold onto hope rather than accept their loved one's untimely deaths. It's just human nature. It would be interesting to have the remaining family upload their dna and create a family tree and see if any of the five kids could have survived through passing along their dna. I'm betting they didn't survive. People don't go around kidnapping five kids from the same family at one time.
I have often wondered about this story and wondered if the children weren't kidnapped. Of course, nowadays your first thought is if the parents didn't kill them. Do you have a 5 or 6 year old, a 12-year-old come in a 14 year old so I don't think they ran away together. Unless someone somehow talk them into going with them. Back in 1945 you wouldn't have thought like that but look at that crazy guy in the UK that killed a bunch of his kids but was trying to get sympathy. I remember seeing the billboard for the missing children in the 1970s in Charleston, WV up in the Loudon Heights area where can Conchata Ferrell lived. I don't know why this large billboard looking thing was moved from Fayetteville to Charleston or if it was another billboard.
Never heard of this case. What a bunch of weird things that happened. Clearly something evil happened but it sounds like the fire dept. and others were in on it or closed their eyes to it. How sad for the parents. They did their best to find their children.
just when you thought this story could not get any weirder…..it does! this is truly an odd story with LOADS of twists, and turns and cul de sacs!! but the bottom line is that these parents NEVER WAIVERED in their hope & dedication….and kept searching for their children….going to EVERY extreme to find them!! AWESOME LOVING PARENTS!!❤❤How awesome that even though the parents died…their children’s children continue their search for them! TRUE LOVING PARENTS AND FAMILY! I hope they finally find out what happened and they can all truly rest in peace!❤❤❤ ONE TOTALLY OFF THE SUBJECT QUESTION!….WHAT KIND OF A ROTARY TELEPHONE WAS THAT!!?? THE LETTERS ON IT WERE: “A-B-C-F-H-I-K-L-M-R”….very odd!! Any rotary phone i ever saw,had the alphabet plus O for operator…. WEIRD PHONE NUMBERING!!
Most plausible scenario. The sales man start the fire because the father didn't want to buy from him and they got argument.. 5 children died in a fire that was raging for hours and their bodies got cremated. Then the father unknowingly put dirt over the children ashes and their small bones. Fire department chief and that sales man (coroner) should be arrested and charged with murders
If they indeed died in the fire, there would still be remains of the five children. For the firefighters or investigator to find, before George could have accidentally covered. Any evidence of any remains of their five children.
I always told my daughter to say that she was from Fayetteville, and they can assume wherever they want 🤔 now that I think about it. She should be proud she was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Hi Amy and Chris. I'm familiar with this story. I think regardless of witness reports of seeing the children alive and the veracity of those reports. The strange events, both prior to and after fire, coupled with the fact that the duration and temperature of the fire would, most definitely not have reached a the thermal threshold necessary to destroy the larger skeletal features of even a child. The remains would have been evedent even to the untrained eye. Are undeniably strong evedence, that something other than a tragic, but simple house fire took place. What happened to the missing children? I don't have any real theory, but. I have a very strong belief that they did not perish in that house fire. Thanks for the recap, and. Seasons greetings to you both from the Republic of Ireland 🎄⛄🇮🇪
to me it´s strange ... when you love the leader of your origin country so much, then go back to this country ... poor kids, nothing good happend to them. That´s sure.
That is definitely a crazy one! So what stands on that spot now? Is it just ruins or is it another house? It is very crazy that no one has excavated it. I really don’t believe they died in the fire. I think with that latter being moved That someone must have gotten them out of there. they must’ve dumped the ladder. Too many strange things!😊❤
I think there was a mistake. The picture at the beginning looks like the father and daughter from the Lawson family video. Sorry if I’m wrong but I just watched that one and looks the same.
May your Holidays be Merry and all your comfy clothes have pockets, especially your dresses! 🎉☃️🥳 Edit: I think the kids didn't die in the fire. Maybe excavate the old crime scene, again?
I hope a day will come we all were granted control of algorithms that infect quality of life. Or at least we should find a way to reset them, or use them as currency, id sure buy some one else's. Mine is a turd.
I've seen this story told many times and it's always the same photos of the kids. They look seriously miserable in what I am assuming are their school photos. Not one child is smiling. They look like mug shots. I'm thinking it probably wasn't a very happy homelife and there's way more to this story.
The first picture you showed as the parents of the Sodder children is not their parents! You use a picture of a father & daughter from the Lawson murder mystery! Shame on you all, I thought you were better than that! SMH
Very interesting, maybe they should do DNA test see if anyone pops up as a cousin or uncle/aunt! What if the brother was involved in kidnapping them too? Merry Christmas to you both have a great day xx
I have heard of cases where fires were so severe that there was little, if anything, left of victims' bodies. Personally I think the children died in the fire. Wouldn't anyone else in the family have seen them being taken away by someone else?

I'm so glad you're covering this. Have always wondered 'bout this case. It seems like a coordinated attack to steal the children.
Sadly child trafficking has always been a thing... very strange. Heartbreaking for mum& dad.
I can't imagine that every single bone, tooth or any other piece of five bodies burned up in that fire...EVERY PIECE!
It would be so interesting to see if familiar DNA ends up connecting the family.
That would be amazing 🙏
The picture they show in the beginning is not a picture of the sodder parents that's a photo of Charlie Lawson and his daughter Marie from NC murders of the Lawson family, happened in Madison NC.
This case breaks my heart. These parents never gave up. Clouded conspiracies, incompetent authorities, goose chases... no answers. So terribly sad.
I kind of doubt that there were five child bodies in the house when the fire department searched it. It's bizarre but sometimes the most simple explanation is absolutely not the correct one. FR. This one shouldn't still be this mysterious. Wtf? I think maybe the Sodder parents were right about some kind of cover up. What gives?
I think the five young children could have been kidnapped, before the fire apartment put out the fire. I don’t really think that the kids would definitely perish in the fire, since there are no remains lift in aftermath to suggest.

the man's picture is not a Sodder. It is of a man named Lawson and his daughter if I am not mistaken
Unfortunately I think the simplest answer is the correct answer, I think they died in the fire.
Still think that the kids were kidnapped. The investigation was done poorly.
So weird, i feel so bad for the parents, and the dad driving to different states looking. Such a tragedy. 😢

WAY too late for any arrests. I would like that too, but it has been almost eighty years. Anyone involved is surely dead and gone.
@@peternolan4107 at that time I meant they should have charged and arrested both of them.

The house was set on fire on purpose but George putting dirt on the foundation destroyed any evidence. The first search was not to detailed.
