I was 20 years old when this happened and I had just had my first son 4 months prior. I was absolutely terrified and devastated by this story. It showed me how truly scary people in this world can be. You can never be too careful and mindful. This heartbreaking story in our headlines everyday, made me be a more cautious person. To look at my surroundings everywhere I go, exits, entrances, fire alarmed doors. I know it might seem over the top for some but I felt it necessary to always be on alert. Never go to sleep without your home secured, and never trust anyone who gives you even the slightest unsettling feeling. That instinct can save your life.

You made me think of a great Leonard Cohen line “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” While it’s so sad that Polly and her family have and will always suffer from this monsters doings, it has shed light on the way things are approached and handled and how it can improve and make a difference.

This case really effected me. I had just had my daughter. Until she left home I would check on her in the middle of the night for the rest of her life.
When she had people spend the night I would check on them a lot. I startled on of her friends because I was leaning over the bed to make sure that she was okay too.
Slumber parties made me extremely anxious. I didn’t get a lot of sleep. I would check on them and count them to make sure that they were all there.
I did have a full blown panic attack one time because I was supposed to have 12 girls and only counted 11. I counted again then ran through the house looking for her, checked all the doors and couldn’t find her.
I went back and counted. Still 11. My heart was pounding in my chest. I woke everyone up and the 12th little girl was wedged against the wall covered with pillows.
I know I scared them because I started crying and hugging them. They had no idea what was going on.
There were so many cases that terrified me. JonBenet Ramsey was the same age as my daughter.
Now that my daughter is older she completely understands why I was so vigilant. She says that I have trained her well because she will be the same way with her children.

I remember this case so well. I lived about an hour away from Petaluma. I was 10 years old at the time. Polly was everywhere on the news, everyone was on the lookout.
It is a core memory of mine when I found out they found her. My dad came into the room and told my mom and I they found Polly... I was so happy to hear it but something about the look on my dad's face made me ask... Is she ok? Then, I remember him putting his head down and shaking his head no.
The strength and resilience Mark Class showed during that time and all these decades later is beyond measure!
The Polly Class foundation is such a wonderful testimony to sweet Polly. ❤

After her father was cleared he got very involved then they formed the foundation and I believe they've been working tirelessly ever since the supplies of human and lnhuman😢jerk buttholes, zombies, homeless, drugs everywhere and multi-millionaires and billionaires running around. Such a minor detail I’m stuck on but - what was the point of the condom? Like actually.
    1) she’s a little girl, she’s a virgin there’s no chances of std
    2) he knew he was going to kill her in the end so there was no chance of pregnancy
So then I’m thinking “maybe he used it because he didn’t want to leave dna” but that doesn’t check out either because he left the condom at the scene! 😅 I’m really trying to figure out his reasoning for a condom.
