    It is a funny thing reading all these pointless comments from people who splurge their knowledge, but at the end of the day they don't know anything! This kind of pizza must be deep fried, otherwise it won't get the right result! Is that difficult to understand? Then, if you think there is too much oil, you can always use a kitchen paper, just to absorb it from the pizza (before adding the sauce on it...obviously!). This kind of pizza is a typical "street food" that you can mainly find in Naples, but it is quite common in other areas of Southern Italy as well. Have a look at the famous episode with Sophia Loren and Giacomo Furia in "L'Oro Di Napoli" and you'll see how people were enjoying this delicious pizza. Previous generations ate this kind of food for years, and they all died in a very ripe age. I also grew up eating these things, and thanks God, I am not obese and I am healthy. Moderation is the keyword, but this is something so obvious! One glass of wine is good, one litre is not, just to make an example. IN MEDIO STAT VIRTUS (The virtue is in the middle) said the ancient Romans, never truer! Eating this pizza every now and then is not a crime, for Christ's sake! By the way...you can eat as much salad as you like, but you are gonna die just the same. So my friends, don't think too much and open that mouth just to put in this delicious pizza. AMEN

    • @wickedsensation669
      @wickedsensation669 9 років тому +7

      Well, mate...you are doing just the same ! Maybe you didn't realise that, but your comment is terribly arrogant! Read well what I wrote, and (maybe) you'll notice that I said wise things and I expressed my opinion.I replied to useless messages made by people who don't know anything about this kind of food. It might hurt you, but I grew up eating these kind of things, so...I know what I am talking about. Then, if my "knowledge" hurts your nerves, well...it is your problem, not mine! I am responsible of what I say, and I am not responsible of what you understand! Paraphrasing Salvator Rosa:"AUT TACE AUT LOQUERE MELIORA SILENTIO" Take care...

    I made this for me and my GF right after watching the video. I have to say guys, this was amazing. The dough cooks so much nicer than it does in a conventional oven (because they typically dont go high enough). And with a bit of kitchen towel to dab the oil, you wont even notice it! It just fast pizza that tastes great! Everyone bashing the amount of oil. Get over it, you're cooking with it, not drinking it.

The way I done the base, just make a thick paste with flour and water, no yeast, no raising. If I want a bit firm, I add the oats, that will make it firm and crunchy. It is a lot quicker without kneading the dough

    I love him. He is what I picture my Italian Nonno to be like if he was still here today.

    I'm going to take a guess here, since a lot of people are saying that you can't fry pizza etc. The dish looks great, and probably originates from using older pizza dough/bread, so that you are adding moisture and flavor to it. It's practical and delicious, kind of like when we used to make stews and pies before the advent of fast food, and acutally had to be creative with leftovers.
