- Sometimes the best stories about the auto industry simply come from those that were created solely through passion and the need to try out something new. Lexus had never tackled the supercar before- does their first attempt remain a banger today?

Car Retrospective is the series where we look at cars of all shapes and sizes, of all backgrounds and nationalities- if it has at least three wheels and has an engine of some sort, it may appear. We uncover the true histories of some of our much- loved cars, such as the Bugatti Veyron to the Audi Quattro, and from the Lamborghini Countach to the Ford Crown Vic. It's all here!

Would you say this is one of the greatest supercars of all time?
Definitely, especially because it went for a more unique V10
Akio Toyoda is a legend! If only HE got 100% power of Toyota, it wouldve exceeded every car market sales ever... If u know his history, he is a racecar driver by hobby, and was taught by the best! He KNOWS what a sportscar is truly like, and also in one of the creators of toyotas GR brand (RIP TRD)
I remember seeing this being reviewed on Top Gear. Stunning piece of kit. I've never seen one in the wild, but I recall this being one of the best handling FR cars in Gran Turismo 5 and 6.
Love the LFA, hope they end up making a new version with another V10
Hey, this was a great video! Cool to see mr. Naruse and Yamaha mentioned. Seems like they had their hand in everything awesome Toyota made.
If the lfa had released 5 years earlier it would have been way more successful
