  • Vent windows can be a real eye sore or worst yet the vent widow frame can be broken and slopping around in the door. We give you tips to make the install of some NPD vent widow frames, vent widow felts, and vent widow weatherstrips an easy job on your Mustang or Cougar. We show you some tips for using panel adhesives and rubbing compound to make the install both sturdy and shiny.
    Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the kind words, be sure to tell your gearhead friends about us. What part of Texas? We go to Houston and Dallas frequently. We do have some GM stuff and plan more. The difficulty is in getting into a local car that is "where we need it to be" in the resto/modification process. We've found a local Chevelle ('69 SS) that would be great for us and left a card on the window but as of yet, haven't heard back.

We've heard people say that the repops don't fit. We wanted to disprove that. While they aren't perfect they are ready to go and do fit.
You are welcome jaspro! All we ask is that you spread the word!

Im in Fort Worth (next to Dallas), resto modding my 69 Chevelle. Just finished doing the entire interior, need to replace the 8.2 with a 12 bolt I have but need to rebuild it and install a set of gears and posi and need to do the paint and body eventually. But its a California car so very very little rust, just a few dots in those corners as usual. By the time I have that done Ill probably blow up my TH350 behind my 468 and have to rebuild that lol. Keep up the vids my friend and keep the humor

Great episode, why did you decide to go with repros vs rechroming the original vent window frames?
The autorestomod videos are helping me out a lot since I am working on the same car, thanks guys.

Bending normally brittle die cast pot metal, even "tweeking" in a vise as you did, is not recommended. Plus the hard chrome surface itself will be subject to microcracking which will become problematic in the future. Not exactly a positive recommendation of this NPD reproduction part. But it was helpful as I've now decided to have my 1967 originals stripped and re-chromed instead.

Thank you for all that is in this video. My only questions are at 11:44 - 12:00. Im not sure why you need to tweek it. You don't show what the actual desired result needs to be.

Muchas GraciASS! Nice vid. Now for the question. I've got the vent windows installed (will all new weatherstripping) and the small "glued-on" weatherstripping which goes against the outside of the door on the bottom of the vent window is nearly useless.
How do we get a water-tight seal between the bottom of the vent window and the door? (as the door/main window weatherstripping stops at the vent window.)
My water test literally stopped NO water from running in the door.
    Thanks in advance.

Not sure there is a way to do that Kevin. That's why Ford put scuppers in the bottom of the doors.

Thanks for the video. I have a 65 Mustang and the vent window lock will not turn to the unlocked position. Will i still be able to remove the vent window?

Try it with the tool we showed. If it doesn't budge you'll probably have to try drilling the pin out.

I can't find just the felt for the division bar, looked at NPD but have to buy the assembly, do you have a part number. And great video on the windows.

For that little rubber strip at the base you glued it in place right ? Like contact cement ?

And I feel like contact cement is the best way to go.

I'll add, make sure to take the old seal out first. You can't get the vent window out without removing it first. Trust me.
