Wow that was...a lot more complicated than I expected. I've seen videos done on 73-79 F100s vent windows and I don't recall seeing those rivets. Thanks for showing us the process. My vent windows need new rubber desperately.
I felt the same way.
Thanks for the very detailed video.
Thanks for the video. I need to replace the seals on my F-100 vent windows. Looks like a hard job. I’m tired after watching that video, but so glad you provided it. Jim
The one thing I will say about the F 100 is there's plenty of room in the doors to do a lot of what you do it is an arduous job at times but well worth it.
This is awesome!
Like the details of the project
Another great video! I'd guess you probably have somewhere around 1,000 hours in this truck. It's details like this that make the difference between a nice vehicle and a heap.
Counting hours on a project makes you cry. I just think of it as going to school. Sometimes I learn just as much as you guys do!
Great details!
Great Video. I sure wish I had this two years ago before I replaced the rubber on my vent windows.
Sometimes that happens! Thanks for watching all the same.
Great Vid as always!
Thanks for showing how you put it back in, the only part people would actually need help with
You are welcome.
@@AutoRestoMod for real not trying to be a cock but it’s much harder putting something back together then taking it apart, any monkey can disassemble something 🙈 🙉 🙊
Thanks for taking the time, excellent tutorial. 👍
Now that was helpful - thanks!
Thanks. I've got to do the windows on my 69 Falcon and to see the process done (on any Ford) makes me feel like it is doable on mine.
We did the removal on our Fairlane Wagon too, the process is basically the same across Ford.
Thanks for venting.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
9:50 When seating the rubber lock lip into the curve channel, would hairspray help instead of soap since it's wet and slippery when placing rubber seal then sticky once dried
When using Rust-Oleum black paint, you mentioned how some people won't like it because it's not 100% right. Seems to me would work completely fine for a daily driver/non-show truck that anyone could do and if ever needed then some masking tape and newspaper around the area to shoot some new coats.
Am I getting exactly what you were saying or somewhere did I misunderstand?
Vent wings are such a pain. Any tips on getting rid of them. I want to do one piece glass on my 62 sedan.
The biggest issue I've seen with that is door flex (that is why Ford put a bridge up by the vent window. There is a kit for the '67-68 Mustang, and that might be adaptable to the other cars.
Oh, for the want of a small lathe for making tools for jobs like this...nuther good vid Cuz.
I thought about that when I was doing this...
do you do outside work. Rebuild for customers.
Can you tell me which size rivets you used on this project?
Awesome walk-though, thanks!
What's the song this starts out with?
Double Espresso Forancesco D'Andrea
I replaced all the glass in my 68. As well as all of the seals, and sweeps. An by far the vent windows were the biggest pain in the ass.
They can make it exciting!
I took the short cut with pop rivets for my 65. The other rivets made me say things.
Great video, is your counterpart on vacation?
His day job at Diesel Laptops is getting more and more busy. So Cam may be on less in the future.
@@AutoRestoMod That is disappointing I like the big lug.
Can you link the video before this? I can't find it

@@AutoRestoMod thank you. Restoring a '69 f100 with my 15 year old son for his first vehicle. This series has been invaluable.
@@AutoRestoMod Sorry, but the episode you linked (476) doesn't mention vent windows at all.
another good one....great info even though.... ya think they could have gone with.... well.... I don't know....fewer parts......for a WING WINDOW.....for a UTILITY VEHICLE!....
and seriously Jeff does the automotive industry have some weird Hollywood style rivet kink thing going on?
let me stop.... good video
love and Starliners
I was like "are you KIDDING ME?" when I took the window apart. Honestly that rivet idea was a punt that worked out famously. And yes, somewhere there is an auto engineer rolling in the dough after creating the Bedazzler...
Starliners and powah
Amma day this once... when will bunny return or make a cameo ? 😂
Bunny?
@@AutoRestoMod whooooops auto correct.
I meant to say vinny
Damn cats 🤣🤣
Word.
After door seal replaced. DOOR won’t close.
It is an issue. Mine finally wore in but it took a minute. I'd LOVE to see the aftermarket make a softer seal like is available for the Mustang.
my god im reinstalling mine on a freshly painted door i was cringing watching you manhandle the vent window assembly out
Yes taking those things in and out on a painted door is scary. You might even pee a little.
That looked like it was a pita to get out.
The adjuster screw on the end of the division bar was frozen in place, had to soak it and use locking pliers to get it out. Had it been removable things would have gone far smoother
That was only half of the job, you didn’t show putting the vent window/division bar assembly back in and doing the side glass channels too.
I do believe if you search around on auto rest a mod there is another video showing just that.
Geeez... All that for a vent button???
Yup
