  • Developed by preparators this is a method for mounting artwork to a backing board when a mat is being used. The advantage is that nothing is adhered directly to the artwork. The strips provide a very secure method of holding the artwork. If necessary they can be removed and the artwork has not been changed in any way.

    very clever. thank you!
I have a question. I have many beautiful artworks on A4 paper which are drawn and colour up to the edges. I want to mat and frame them but I don't want any part of my drawings to be covered by the mat window, which means that the mat window will have to be larger or of identical size as the drawing and never touch on it.
This implies that the artwork must be attached to the backing board, but how?
I have been looking and haven't found a way so far.
I know you can use double side tape but I heard it's not as good to use tape behind paper artworks, especially on thin paper, because it could buckle. Is it true?

You want a mat and float combination. This video will show you how to measure and has a link to how to attach the artwork to a backing board. www.metroframe.com/mat-float-combined-calculating-size/ If you have further questions call 800-626-3139 and we would be happy to help you.
