- I got the 2jz engine block all cleaned up and painted! If you wanna learn how I cleaned, prepped, and painted the engine block, follow along. Its ready for reassembly, so make sure to stick around for the next one!
P.S. Don't waste your time on the harbor freight media blasting gun. It's not worth the effort.

Thanks for watching!

Im glad you showed the fail on that HF media blast haha
Yah it sucked haha
Nice video keep the good work up!!
Thanks!
Good vid, keep the videos up on the process as best as you can, these kinds of videos really help and I think will become a big help coming up here for future NA-T builders with GTE's sky rocketing
Thanks!
@@Teysik in one of your coming up video's could you possibly show us your whole part list possibly even with links?
@@krispyfinesse267 yes, I plan to have a complete list put together
@@Teysik Awesome looking forward to that video, I've hoping to make time for my NA-T build here soon, think I'll do budget built first just like yours before I get ahead of myself spending 4-6k minimum haha. Same setup as you VVTI GE with non VVTI rod's.
@@krispyfinesse267 sounds like a fun project, but pretty much guarantee it’s gunna cost more than you expect 😂
Great video!
Thanks!
cant wait to see the transfer
Same 😂
Damn bro how cold is it in your garage? I can see your breath. Lol subscribed tho! Making me wanna do a NA-T build
Pretty cold 😂 I turned my torpedo heater off to talk, it’s not too bad with it on
The Incredible Cyp was here 👊🏽
Thanks dude 👊
👋🏼
Do you re used the piston rings that coming in the non vvti block or you buy new one i already purchased a set of the gte piston and rods for my build the piston rings look pretty clean but i dont sure if i can re used or not is any way to test it before i put it in the block
I did not take the bottom end apart, so I reused the rings. But if you already have the pistons out you might as well replace the rings, they’re not expensive. If you don’t want to reuse them, you can use feeler gauges to check your ring gap and make sure they are within spec
👍👌🤝🇺🇦nice work
Hey Tey, how are you ? I’m following you since I watched this built you made on 2jz. Please educated me here. In my understanding half gte and half ge model? What if I don’t have budget to get two engine and combined them? Which one can hold power conservatively tune.. 300-400hp just for daily drive ? Please advise me and thank you in advance more power.
No they are both GE. One is vvti and one is non vvti. The non vvti can hold the power. Up to 700 or 800 reliably, but it has a distributor and no vvti. The vvti block commonly breaks rods around 350hp
@@Teysik oh okay now get the top end from vvti put to non vvti and use the entire block? I get this big thanks 🙏
@@SGQ12 yes sir. You’ll just have to get a custom line for the vvti oil feed. Driftmotion sells one
Hey when you cleaned the block, did you remove the pistons and everything? Or just cleaned them up? I saw what you did with the head, just curious what you decided to do with the block before you painted it.
Did not remove them, just shined them up. If I was going to remove them I would do all new bearings and probably get the block honed and I didn’t feel the need to do all that
@@Teysik How's it all held up? I'll likely do the same with my swap. Don't feel the need to do the bottom end stuff besides change all the main gaskets and seals. Aiming for no more than 500 whp in mine.
@@Nick15Green I got it running really good except I’m having an issue where at wide open throttle it completely shuts off at 5000 rpm ish. Still trying to figure that out
@@Teysik did u figure it out?
@@cookie-hf5ww yep. Check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/X-X2Ia8yWh8/v-deo.htmlsi=KJkSJaUAUbo_HnlX
Did you get the deck resurfaced?
Nope, didn’t find it necessary
How do you clean powdercoated parts?
Pressure washer and a nylon brush/ tooth brush
what ecu are you using
Stock jdm GTE vvti ecu
Why not just vapor blast the block? Hey bro label the videos in numerical order like part 1, 2, 3 ect ect
Budget haha, but I definitely will do something like that next time
Shame you got it that clean and didn’t prime it
You really shouldn’t prime an engine block. It will make the paint too thick, causing heat to build up underneath it and make the paint bubble and flake
lmao; lol,.... funny vid playa try again...lol
