  • This is just a small hack to deal with data coming from the "interfaces" servers. Thanks to Jean-François Renaud for the inspiration to separate the channels.
Below this text you will find the names of the joints to put into the "rename" CHOP.
Everything You need to know and to download is linked through
    interfaces.7pc.de
The Repo for the Server can be found at github.com/gandie/interfaces-...
And if You have any questions ask them here or on / discord
There will be separate tutorials on how to install and how to connect to Derivative touchdesigner on this channel soon.
"Interfaces" will bridge between dance and generative art. It will be a data and knowledge base including a ton of open source code for everybody to create their own digital artwork from choreography.
This time we are featuring an open source motion capture system that we (mainly Lars) will be publishing very soon.

Thank you for this tutorial! Could you make a second tutorial how to connect this points with lines with different colors?

This looks interesting, but how's the latency?

We haven't measured it yet. But there it some latency.

You put so much work into this, and it's likely a very great achievement. But what you invented there is already widely available on the market.
I don't see why anyone would want to tinker with handcrafted solutions in a professional environment, when solutions are proven almost daily in the professional industry.
I've followed you for a while now and it seems you are extremely smart, but you like too much to invent your own stuff rather than to give credit for what others came up with and evolve from there.
    Anyhow respect for your efforts.

Hi, thanks for watching. (Loving the drone shots on Your channel)
This video is part of a project we put out there to support dance, theatre or any other live productions that want to use technology like motion capture but can't afford sensors or big systems. Most industrial solutions out there seemed to aim for a market of bigger fundings.
But let me know: What solutions were You referring to? Because I'm far from a wide overview over all the systems out there.
      Best

@@philipp7pc have a look at notch, it supports camera based body tracking in realtime.
      No need to reinvent that.

Absolutely. I like notch. But most budgets of free art institutions don't like notch for the extravagant pricing - extravagant in comparison to "free". So there is a certain need to re-invent it in the open source world.

@@philipp7pc Staatsoper Hannover requires you to work for free?
You should come work for me, i require good realtime artists and my projects pay :)

Nono. ;] but the audience for this build is a wide range of creative coders and artists with their sometimes low budget projects.
But hit me up any time you need my skills. ;]
