I ended up on pc because moving a console around with me would be a pain, but it turns out it's faster than the console was. Also 30 seconds adds up if you are doing it over and over again, if you load the game once every other day you'd save 1.5h by the end of the year.

yea but PCIE is faster if Sata was faster than pcie then companies like nvidia and AMD will use Sata grahics card's PCIE is upgrading to 4.0 which means higher bandwidth and also means the PCIE slot powers the gpu without needing gpu cable because each slot will be 500 watts of power to run any grahics card so.that means cleaner setups
oh why use a expensive ssd on a piece of trash like PlayStation 4 I think alot of you are miss informed yes 1080p is nice but low quality textures is a no no no I rather have 720p with medium textures on the Xbox but if I want all of that on 5k resolution I rather buy a gaming PC have everything in ultra settings

Most PC gamers play at 720p and if you want 1080p 60fps you need a $800+ PC that you need to upgrade every two years that's $200 every two years or you will be playing at 720p or lower that's and most OLD PC games don't even run on new hardware since their not updated and Shity PC ports that come out 6months after the console ones and the multiplayer is a mess hackers everywhere

Built my pc three years ago for $600 and still play all games at atleast 1080p at 45 to 80 fps on high on most new games. Ive only made one upgrade, and all I did was upgrade the case and add an ssd, which doesnt really change performance.

Why? Just wondering, because while yes the SSD was faster, it's still limited by the Sata II in the consoles (it's now finally SATA 3 in the Xbox one S) which means it can't hit its theoretical limits of speed. Austin never mentioned that when he should have imo.

Wii U has a flash chip for faster loading but the storage sucks.
My ssd (in my pc with i5 and GTX970) loads Fallout 4 in just 10-15 seconds.
Edit: I tested it and turns out that it takes 23 sec to launch from Steam to the menu, and after that from menu, loading the latest gamesave takes about 5-8 secs. So about 20 seconds.

Ps2 have from small to no loading times with an SSD.
I don't think the PS4 or XB1 can even properly utilize an SSD... There was an article on (I think) IGN covering the load times w/ and w/o SSD and the benefits were marginal at best. I think the consoles don't have access to a fast enough interface to properly saturate an SSD (SATA 2 IIRC).

USB 3 is not faster than SATA 3, and only a bit better than SATA 2 when you account for the overhead of the USB protocol. So in theory the XB1 solution is better performing but it depends heavily on the software to squeeze every last bit.

usb3 on the xbox its much slower than the direct sata conexion on the ps4. USB3 speeds can go up to 200mb/s, sata speed can go up to 600mb/s
the ps4 only has sata2
im not sure of that, but anyway, still faster (300 vs 200mb/s) and the latency of a sata drive its lower that a usb.

Definitely a great video, I do not console game mostly just pc game, however i have been told by many people that the gains in putting an SSD into a console does not do much but that is definitely not the case. Nintendo ( if I remember correctly) says you have to have a hard drive that plugs into the wall for power butt if you get a cable that one side goes to your hard drive the other side goes to 2 USB ports on your Wii U then you can plug it in and it will work fine I have first-hand experience with this ps

well, i mean, you CAN do that, it just means popping open an awful lot of clips with a screwdriver or something similar. I'm pretty sure the xbox one's HDD is still just a generic SATA drive.

well you could just remove the hard drive on the xbox 360 slim and replace it with whatever you wanted, but even then if you wanted the original hard drive holder thing you'd have to pry it off the old hard drive and glue it back on the new one.

The kit I bought came with a case to convert the original (or any 2.5" drive) into an external drive. I wiped my old drive after transferring all my data and I'm going to start using it as an overflow if I ever Excede my 2TB.

Kinda like what Raspberry pi does today. It did not take up an entire room. Not to mention that ZEROX already had personal computers. Video games were around in the 70's but didn't really gain mainstream popularity until the 80's, well after the PC had been established.

Well pc has multiple GENRES that console does not have plus everything on the consoles(exclusives will take alot of time but will be emulated eventually) and keyboard and mouse is better in alot of games especially competitive games. You can also hotplug the same controller u use on your console and it works fine. Hackers are not very common either especially in popular competitive titles with anti-cheat programs. And there are just way too many other advantages i am not bothered to get into to.
