- HOW do you clad a beautiful cabin in the woods and make her watertight? Tonight we house wrap the cabin and get her clad and start putting the windows in.
We have a vision for a 2 story cabin with a high A frame style roof and a medieval inspired veranda and balcony. Follow along as we build our cabin without any previous building skills & we show you anyone can do it!

Your Rosie is one blessed girl☺️
She's so excited! ❤️ She's, especially looking forward to decorating!
Well done on the cabin. Interesting to learn of the preparation for the wrap and cladding. Rosie must be so excited to move in. Going to watch your new channel shortly. Best wishes for your market garden.
Thanks so much Susan, and yes Rosie is super excited especially about decorating. We're really excited about the garden and thanks for joining us there 🙏🌱🌱

Marvellous progress and the cabin is looking so good. I never would have thought that when you decided on buying the land after the tour around it, that you would have achieved so much and live a much fuller life than most everyday folk.
Thanks 🙏 Have to be honest as surprised myself just how great the cabin looks. We've learnt so much and it's very satisfying. I'm really looking forward to it being finished, especially as, Rosie is so excited about moving in 🌞
Hi,
Amazing work you both do!
Very inspirational and motivating. 🌟
Wishing you much success with your projects on the land.
Can’t wait to see the bananas growing! 🍌 🍌
Take care.

Thanks, so much Sam 🙏
And can't wait to see how, the nana, are doing in spring AND if we can get fruit this, year!
Wooow, well done🎉
Thank you! 😃
Well done. You two never cease to amaze me. You’ve come a long way since the yellow van. You’ve achieved a lot and given so much inspiration to many. Xx
Aw thanks Marjorie certainly a Learning curve as they say from suburban house, to van, to building a tiny house!
Looks fantastic and blends in lovely with the landscape.
Thank you! Really does look lovely and the view is amazing, can't wait to clear the area around the cabin too & Cheers!
Oh my goodness that looks absolutely amazing, well done on all your hard work, I love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! So pleased and tbh a bit surprised myself how good she looks! 😍
Such a beautiful sweet little house! It fits so well into its environment. You both need to pat yourselves on the back for a job well done. By the way, we haven't had any rain in a very long time here in Almeria. Hopefully there is some on its way soon. I'm looking forward to seeing the cabin turning into a home.
Thanks very proud of I'm honest, learnt a lot ❤️
Have you had the rains? Ours, arrived yesterday and lots forecast for today. Great for the garden!
Just subscribed to your New Gardening Channel. 😊
Thanks for subbing! And see you over there 🌱
Hi guy's that looks so cool.
Great job 👏 👍
Be safe
Thanks very much we're all good super pleased how, she looks 👌
It's looking lovely!!!
Just hope you guys don't have the risk of wild fire in your region. 🙏
Sadly everywhere in Portugal is a fire risk. Our land and its surrounding area is less likely. But additionally we'll be clearing all around the cabin and leaving only the oaks. And thanks very pleased how she's shaping up ❤️

Hi guys, it’s great to see you realising your dreams of living in a more natural simple sustainable lifestyle. My husband and I have 1 hectare of land 20 mins from Castelo Branco, and intend to live on it in the coming year. We have a small ruin which doesn’t have a habitation license but is registered. We intend to build a small wooden cabin similar to yours to live in to start with, with additional small wooden sheds for shower, toilet, storage etc. Interested to know if you’ve had any objections to building your structures or living like that, before applying for habitation for your ruin? 😊
Hi our ruin was registered pre 51 and exempt, we registered it and converted part of the land over to urban. Took ages mind!
For any building temporary or not or cabin yurt etc you'd have to submit your plans to the camara and ask for permission.
It's much easier to convert your ruin and make that habitable. Again have a chat with them and or get your lawyer to 😊✌️
Good luck and welcome to the area 💚
Thank you for this helpful answer. Is it expensive to convert rustic land to urban, and submit plans for structures? How long did you wait?
@charlottechapman1969 if it's, rustic land without a, registered structure you're unlikely to convert it, but ask at the camara. For a pre 51 registered structure in our case it coat us 600euros including fees, and taxes to convert to urban with an exemption licence.

Cabin looks great. Any thought on rain management around it?
Thanks & Decided against gutters as they trap leaves vs fire safety...
Already had lots of rain without issues but will probably dig 2 French drains and fill with gravel and direct them to what will eventually be a new banana circle
;ppks really as a dream!
Thanks very happy how it's, shaping up ❤️
hi guys, its looking good.where did you get the cladding from, see ya in next vid, good luck
Hi Cladding was from Madeiaze wood yard in Castelo Branco and thanks. What are you building/Cladding?
🌟👏👍🍀💐
😊☺️😎😁
Hi, I haven't seen Rosie for a long time. Has she got her own channel.
Morning, Rosie never got round to starting her channel and she's not much a fan of being on camera, so we only film her with consent. So it's, certainly been awhile but it's normally chicken related filming as she loves her chicks 🐔🐔🐔💚
Because of wild fires in Portugal isn't it best to build a Cabin away from trees/bushes?
All the pines are cut down and it's on the list to clear all the brush as ultimately the cabin will be within the garden. Deciduous trees oaks etc don't pose fire risks
I keep losing the chat 😢
Sorry to hear Sue have to watch it back x
