      Glad you enjoyed it and yes very simple but really loving it. Sometimes hard work with daily chores and building etc, wood chopping and watering etc.
      Chicks are growing fast 🐥🐤🐣

    The inside of the cabin is looking nice and cosy and that's before the plaster and the decor. A good solid build to withstand the elements but I think that once all the chickens have grown, then the sound of pock pock pock will still be heard inside 😉 Off grid life, luvvit!

      I'm jealous of the cabin Rosie is, so lucky and once the heating is in going to be very cosy. Trizieis, settling in but so small compared to the others.... Defo going to have to extend the coop!

    Will you be insulating the walls of the cabin too? Or is that overkill?

      Definitely floor and roof, we, wet planning the walls but we're in 2 minds as to how much it needs it

    king afonso of portugal...alfonso is spanish 🙂

    • @TheWildlandersOffGrid

      Wikipedia:Afonso I, also called Afonso Henriques, nicknamed the Conqueror and the Founder by the Portuguese, was the first king of Portugal. He achieved the independence of the County of Portugal, establishing a new kingdom and doubling its area with the Reconquista, an objective that he pursued until his death. Wikipedia

      @@TheWildlandersOffGrid That's not the issue! 😅 You said Alfonso but it's just Afonso, without the "L". That's what @carlosvictor8679 was talking about.
      Also, in the video, you were talking about Afonso the second, not Afonso henriques (the first).

      I imagine most people changing lifestyles have things to learn it's part of the journey isn't it. Learning, failing growing achieving. Living in London there was little need to know about Well water or head height's. Equally never built a house just did that too. So yes, still here and thriving in positivity. I'm absolutely stunned people even leave comments like yours

      @@TheWildlandersOffGrid i grew up on a farm, then later in life moved to a very rugged remote property. And have seen so many in my area show up thinking they were going to live off grid, and watched all of them spend their money only to leave within a few years and go back to working for society.

    • @TheWildlandersOffGrid
      @TheWildlandersOffGrid  3 місяці тому +3

      Not all succeed but all part of their journey. We love it, we'd already lived in a van for years can't imagine we'd ever go back to traditional lifestyles. We're nearly in our 4th year here still loving it.

    • @moparmanuk
      @moparmanuk 3 місяці тому +2

      Shane. Instead of critiquing people (look it up if you need to) perhaps those people in your area could have benefitted from your years of experience. I suspect you just watched, tutted, and patted yourself on the back when they had to move away.
      We've just moved to Portugal ourselves and channels like this inspired us to do it. We're not off grid but might do one day. When we do, I'm sure we will seek the Wildlanders advice rather than from unhelpful people like you.

    • @shanestamball1886
      @shanestamball1886 3 місяці тому +1

      @@moparmanuk well thats about as negative thinking as ive ever heard. Ive helped a few and some of them you can't help. Because they think they know whats best for themselves. Then there's those who think they were gonna raise their own feed animals, but didn't understand the concept of feeding and caring. And the worst were a mid aged couple who couldn't come to terms with the circles of life. Yall ever see a 1700lb pet 😂. And i dont know where you come off saying im critiquing anyone. There is so much "Fake/scripted" on UA-cam. I made a simple comment of knowing from watching others who didn't know what they were doing.
