i would agree there mate . i think the crown looks very tidy like that 👍 excellent job . interesting he wants a 22 for target work . please do do a follow up on this one as i would like to see how he gets on for sure
It'll be interesting to see how the .22 barrel works out. Really nice machining video and gives a non engineer (me) and insight into what really goes on in the machine shop 🙂
I've watched quite a few of you uploads very very interesting to watch and pure engineering genius and amazing finish to all your end projects. Outstanding
Is that a Dremel speed click for doing the crown ? those little cut off wheels are expensive for what they are, but i guess very practical for this application in keeping everything true.
it has been tested and the verdict was it was good but not good enough for br comps ☹ i think we are going to try another barrel at some point as they are all different 😀
Hi, I know you do quite a few re-barreling videos and wondered if you know where I could get a .177 Match grade stainless steel heavy barrel for use on a bench rest rifle.
hi sorry we do some but not done a ss one yet, we use chambers for the LW barrels and Bagnal & Kirkwood for all the others. We have used a few FTP 900 barrels but i think they are plated not ss so just look like ss
This video popping up in my youtube suggestions makes me excited to get working on my big bore crossman 2240/2250 project again. Always enjoyed working on airguns but it's been on hold for a while due to circumstances. Have you tried using a gauge pin in the rifling to dial it in?
Great video, do you have any experience with the sig mcx virtus air rifle barrel. This Airgun gives me 2 different groups within 10-15 consecutive shots. I’m trying to figure out why the rifle groups horribly
@@sub12airgunners I hope you can get your hands on one and investigate why. Many owners if not all have this problem. Must be something that owners can do to improve it . I can try to explain the setup briefly. On the 177 mcx and mcx virtus 22 it’s fed into the Airgun by a mag with a belt , with every trigger pull the belt/ plastic chain rotates and lines up internally with the barrel. Then as the trigger is pulled a hammer hits the air chamber valve and a burst of air hits that pellet and pushes it through the barrel, but right before the barrel is a small (breech piece) like a nozzle that is maybe half a mm bigger than the circumference of the pellet. After shooting the pellet into a 25 gallon water trash bin to capture the pellet I can see there’s a smear on one side of the pellet as if it’s not traveling through the barrel straight or evenly. Do you think it’s possible you can get your hands on one. I was thinking maybe putting a inexpensive slightly better barrel like crosman 2240 and if it could be improved a Fx barrel
is there ay reason that you prefer the spider chuck in the 3 jaw over the use of a 4 jaw? is it for the length of grip, as adjusting over 4 points o each of the 2 axis dose allow for a lot of movement a sideways twist
Hi Jake,Al Stevens from airgunforums. Could you please tell me the make/model number of that s/p thread cutting tool please. Where did you get it? Thank you, Atb,Al.
hi Jeff ive converted my walther barrel on my 500 thats now 4 inches shorter and groups around 15mm at 45yrds but would love to put an Anschutz .177 on it for fun just to see what it can achieve. where do you buy these blanks or do you have any for sale? im local to petes

thank you 👍 yes i think he just wants to see how it compares, but we will do something on the results👍

Excellent and interesting as always👍👍 keep ‘em coming, could watch them all day. Super skills.
thank you 👍
Nice to see someone taking detail seriously ,,,, great job.
thank you 👍
Nice tidy job with the machining. 👍Interesting move to 22 for target shooting, that will likely get some frowns. 😁😁
Yes will be interesting how he gets on with it, and the reaction he gets😂

well spotted, yes it is they work a treat for this job 👍
Interesting as always chaps ,great quality work .
thank you 👍
Kudos for being thorough!
thank you 👍
Excellent job Jake
thank you 👍
Fantastic work as always Jeff, top notch Cheers 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
thank you 👍
So to follow up on this one - how did it end up from a BR option? Great videos as ever, thank you
it has been tested and the verdict was it was good but not good enough for br comps ☹ i think we are going to try another barrel at some point as they are all different 😀
Thank you @@sub12airgunners
What sort of steel is that? it seems to machine very well.
it's just mild steel 😁
Yet another excellent video 👍🏻
thank you 👍

Amazing top Quality workmanship 👌
I'm trying to get a longer barrel made for 9015 to try a bit of benchrest.
Still searching 😥
thanks for watching
Nice work!

thanks for watching, yes have done it that way before it works just as well 👍

not had one apart yet but with this sort of problem it's a case of going through it bit by bit 👍

what is the diameter of this barrel?
It looks pretty robust. I would say it's about 19mm?
yes it is a meaty barrel 18mm 👍

as you say it just gives more adjustment than the 4 jaw 👍
Genius ... period ...
Thank you 👍
Awesome work thanks for sharing bsafe buddy 👍
thank you 👍

Thank you,

Hi, we get them from cutwel and it's simtek e3 grooving threading tool
@@sub12airgunners Thank you👍
Very interesting video as expected👍🏼

the Anschutz barrel is off our own 9015 the one we machined up is a LW i believe, but the blanks we do get come from chambers 👍
Thanks
When is the BRK Ghost coming ? :)
It's been on order for about 5 weeks now so hopefully soon 👍
Great Vid. 😊😊
thanks for watching 👍
Cool job! Is it possible to share your thread tool reference please? Thank you
Hi we use a simtek TE3 16 16 insert 20 tpi full form 👍
nice work
thank you 😀
Must be Jasons barrel .ill be interested to see how he gets on with it.
yes i am interested to see 👍
As usual, awesome engineering.
thank you 👍
Can You make 2 750mm Barrels for my Fx Impacts M3 4.5mm and 5.5mm...?? Let me KnoW please...
Hi sorry we don't do work for people, we just do ours and some good friends guns 🙁
I now own that barrel 🤣

Thumbs down at the end?😉🤔😂

What material are you using for the barrel?
Do you use the same type of material for a 9mm, 45ACP and 7.62mm AK Round?
