I used to be a bus driver. On one birthday I had let an old lady on the bus to sit more comfortable at the terminal point while she waited for the journey start. I told her it was my birthday and she wished me happy birthday. Part of the journey went by her house and I let her off outside it (not supposed to). She thanked me and disappeared indoors. On my return, she stood in the road to flag me down. She got on the bus, lit a single candle on a very small cake and sang happy birthday in a wobbly old voice. It was such a sweet thing, I nearly cried. Oh and she was possibly the worst shag I've ever had. (Sorry, that last bit isn't true, but the rest was.) That moment will always be in my heart.
That action speaks very highly of the character and culture of Denmark and of course, its people! :) That driver will cherish that moment until the end of his days! We'll done Denmark! It has inspired me to do good and live a joyful life.
I like it when good things happen too seemingly genuine, nice people. I'd rather see stuff like this than pointless stories on meaningless celebs, that offer nothing to anyone, apart from their fame.
People, stop saying that our country is better thank yours - it's not about countries, it's about humans and love. Every people from every country can do that! :') This is so beautiful.
bus drivers like "BEST DAY OF MY LIFEEEE" this is so cute, people should do this kind of thing more often. It shows the little things can mean so much to someone
Sooo beautiful...and what a genuine looking fellow. He truly looks like the kind of fellow who truly deserves such a beautiful gift. Good on you mate!!
There are no racist countries. There are only racist people and they are the minority. Denmark is one of the best places to live in the world, if not the best.
Sometimes the weather is really bad, but I'd rather live in peaceful Denmark instead of for example. USA, Canada you know the big countries. Rather bad weather and peace than good weather and war. Know me :) (Btw, no hate to USA and Canada, It was an example) Sorry if my english is shit. I'm from Denmark and in like potatoes.
I don't even speak this language, I literally have no idea what anyone said.... However it still brought tears to my eyes because I knew what it was about.... People have so much potential to be great spirits.... I just wish more of them would make an effort to do such things....
thats so kawaii when people go out of their way to do something for that 1 guy that everyone knows but doesnt appreciate, or so the guy thinks, until people show care and affection
As I was watching this it brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me that people out there do appreciate the work done by public servants like myself. I am a bus driver in Tampa, FL and I'll tell you that it feels good to know that you are appreciated with a job that stressful and hectic.
Beautiful, really nice, can see that the bus driver didn't know what to make of it with the trumpet playing at first, but when the singing started... he and many of the passengers seemed to really enjoy it. Found this funny and unique and very pleasant and heart warming :)
Have watched this video many times since it was posted over a decade ago and cannot help it but cry a little, so touched I feel by it. Well done, Denmark and her lovely people! Thank you! 😢
I love this, what a wonderful thing to do. I think flashmobs are an incredible way of bringing people together and putting a smile on peoples faces. This is something he will remember forever.
This is a close second to the T-Mobile Welcome Home flash mob, and made me cry as well. Very sweet! I note it's about 10 days before Mukhtar's birthday again. Happy Birthday, Mukhtar! :)
i cant think of an better bithday surprise and how lucky of him and how great that he is loved that much ;) his smile makes me smile actually :D loves from Turkey!
I dont understand the language but i can guess whats happening. This is very sweet. if only all humans were this lovable toward each other. Can you imagine the cheerful world we would live in?
oh! the world could be wonderful. it's up to us. just to know the driver to the bus you take everyday, and say ''happy birthday'' to him, makes his day better, and ours too. congratulations!
@Troublesome2008 thats just a bus coming from other direciton. The shot was showing the 'protestors' from the back and not the front to give some context to the protest, to disguise it from the birthday boy.
I keep watching this. It is so very touching. It's brought me to tears several times, it is such a beautfiul moment & to honor someone in such a sweet, and surprising way. We can all learn from this......

Faith in humanity +1
A wonderful act of kindness to the man that serves them so loyally each day. I loved the expression on his face at the end. He felt their gratitude!
He recently had back pain and needed to get a surgery to replace the bones in the back.
So he could not continue, with the job sadly.
Beautiful, really nice, can see that the bus driver didn't know what to make of it with the trumpet playing at first, but when the singing started... he and many of the passengers seemed to really enjoy it. Found this funny and unique and very pleasant and heart warming :)
