  • Nice straight forward job to get my week started. Fitting an airing cupboard out with slatted wooden shelves, and painting a small downstairs hallway.
    In this video I'm using Dulux Trade Diamond Matt on the walls, Dulux Trade Super Matt Emulsion on the ceiling, and Dulux Quick Dry Satin on the woodwork.
    Paint used:
    Dulux Trade Diamond Matt: amzn.to/37sM8Fb
    Dulux Trade Super Matt Emulsion: amzn.to/2UTvIDe
    Dulux Quick Dry Satinwood: amzn.to/2Swz1i4

    really nice work, not everyone will agree with your brand of paint, but to be honest, you get what you pay for, i use dulux and leyland. trade paints are alway's better than retail paint , hence the price. fellow decorator...

    To get those tiny little holes as you say, or missed areas as I call them, usually caused when a part of the roller runs dry, keep the roller well loaded to avoid that. Roll in sections quicker to keep a wet edge, then lightly roll back over where the sections meet to avoid leaving roller marks.

    it's not bad gear I found johnstones cleanable matt easier to apply and it's got less sheen isn't quite as thick either

    Great job when you repaint over skirting boards and door frames do you have to undercoat it

    Hi, I love the Dulux Diamond Matt. I painted my hallway with it 13 years ago and it looks as good as new. However, now I need to paint the hallway again as I have chipped white skirtings etc.. Do you use the Zinsser 123 primer/undercoat on previously painted interior wood? Then 2 coats of Dulux Satinwood?

    After painting around a light switch very well, you then used a small roller.
    1. What type of roller, shorthair?
    2. Is this to clear brush marks?

      That particular roller was a short pile/nap, and yes it was used to remove any brush marks around the switch.

    Did you coat the skirting boards first

    • @JBTV
      @JBTV  4 роки тому

      Yep, they got rubbed down and primed/undercoated before the satinwood.

      @@JBTV what skirting boards first and wall paint Last

    • @JBTV
      @JBTV  4 роки тому +1

      @@StephenSmith-vs8hr I mean they got rubbed down before painting. You can paint the woodwork first, but you then have to protect the woodwork from splatters of wall paint. In this case I prepared the skirting, applied primer/undercoat, painted the walls, and then finished off with the woodwork...
