Nice one Phil...plenty of useful pro info for the diyers out there. And a good review that us pro's can relate to. I often find most acrylics can be identified by an ammonia type smell, (which is a reaction between two chemicals in the paint apparently) whereas the hybrids have that odd oily/window cleaner wiff about them.
Hey Phil! Advice please..... Sash & Case windows, I use an acky primer (on bare timber) water based undercoat and 1-2 coats of exterior allcoat satin, I would love to try the gloss tho What you reckon on the process I use?
Have a look at Isomat new AllPrimer (as your primer and undercoat) then two top coats of Isomat Aqua satin. It's a very nice paint and finish. If you're wanting a quick MSP paint, check out Bedec.
Hi Phil, have you ever sprayed Scuff X with a HVLP? Im about to try on a couple of pine doors and wondered what size nozzele woukd be best and if you thin it.....keep up the great vids mate 👌
Another paint you have to babysit the teardrop runs that form 30-60 mins or so after applying so no idea why you recommended PU Satin over this as it's probably worse on that front.
Isomat Professional Color or Premium Color. BM Ben Optiva 5 Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt is nice stuff. for a budget, Albany Durable Matt is also fine (I think thats made by Crown)
Hi Phil, I’ve always used Dulux Trade Satinwood and have always been happy with it. But I’m about to redecorate my toddler’s room, and I’m conscious of the off-gassing. Which water-based satinwood on the market would you recommend?
For ease of applying it. Sand down and coating up... All waterbase. Look at Bedec MSP soft satin. Or Bradite OneCan (eggshell finishes 25% sheen level) Can't mess it up with those Zinsser AllCoat Exterior satin is another to look at. They all can be mixed to colours if needed
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I’m decent enough at painting and I’m curious is the MSP as good as there advanced and how do they stack up to Johnstones aqua quard, as I’ve just watched your video on it?
@@TonyAFC85 Bedec Aqua Advance is a next step up. UC then two top coats. If going down the three coats system. Look at Isomat at also Caparol puGloss (it's only 65% sheen level so a higher satin finish more than a gloss finish)
I think you need a hobby instead the pointless painting of doors with endless white satins and different brushes when we all go for our favourites I do anyway

@@TonyAFC85 Aqua guard... Hmmm. Be great in the Olympics lol
It's okmif you know how to paint with it.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator MSP it is 👍
first
Dont get peoples problem with oil. Water based is never as good
Smell, drying times.
There’s painters out there that can’t stand the smell of paint and can’t organise themselves to make the woodwork the last thing you do in a day
Yeah is a trade off to me. Water when tight on time etc but oil just always a superior finish, more durable.@@gdpaintingdecorating5704
That’s a massive forehead Phil…….why don’t you paint it 👌

Who would you have to watch if I didn't do it. You add 0.002p each time to the Porsche fund
