I walked every morning all last year while fasted and I lost more weight than I did at the gym and it improved my stress and anxiety so much! I look forward to my morning walks
Same. I fell in love with walking. I use to train for hours a day at the gym and I never had the results I achieved just by walking. Now, to be fair, I walked about 20K steps per day, breaking that up into three walks, but I lost around 40 pounds in three months.
This video, as are all of Autumn’s videos, is fantastic. I really love walking now. It is a highlight of my day.
My walk is my reward for my morning workout. Then I can look forward to my coffee and Bible/prayer time. My mornings have been much happier since I started my days this way.
One and a half hours first thing 6 days a week, lost twenty pounds in 30 days coupled with low carb diet.
Love my morning walk, aim for minimum of 10,000 steps,so easy it’s the only addiction that I have,
I think low carb is a huge key. I was calorie counting and even at 1800 cal and 4 mi every morning at 3.5 mph I was actually gaining weight. Thanks for this insight!
That's right up my alley I do 10,000 steps 5 to 6 days a week. I was losing weight but I fell off the wagon last fall. Getting back into the routine and I feel good. It's a good addiction. 🙂
Just got back from roughly 45 mins of walking. Over 4.6k steps and it’s 7:17am!
yesss that's so great! Getting it in bright and early! I got a 4k step in before my workout this am also 💪🏻
I love this channel. I walk daily and cover approximately between 15-20k steps everyday. I start my days with 500mls of water. I add two tbs of apple cider vinegar and a half tsp of Himalayan salt. I usually break my fast around midday ( 18/6 hour fast ) with an Avacado and some Tabasco sauce. Then have my main meal of the day sound 5.30pm. I’ve lost 64 lbs over the last 12 months. No more pains in my knees. No headaches and after a recent eye test I have been told my eyesight has actually improved. This is my new normal now. It’s the way to go people. Find out what works for you and go for it. You will not regret it 👍
@@AutumnBates yep. I’m convinced that when I do a water fast ( 60-72 hrs ) that going into Autophagy is giving huge benefits. More and more medical professionals should be paying more attention to the benefits of fasting. It’s most definitely nature’s way of giving us the best defence for our bodies. Especially as we start to get older.
yes it is suprising how much inflamation even our eyes hold. I had the same improvement in my vision and now Im 60. and went from daily wear contacts to glasses for driving/ distances. thats it!
Coffee first thing on an empty stomach also raises cortisol and wrecks adrenals and hormones. I feel so much better now that I wait till after my walk to drink coffee. And I have some food first! Huge results for such a small change
i LOVE that you jumped right into the tips, no fluff that i had to skip through to reach your advice. very appreciated :)
My name is Rebecca I started watching your videos and trying to incorporate some of your information I am a 50 year old home caregiver for my mother in law who is home bound she is 87 with stage 6-7 Alzheimer's I have been caring for her for 8 years 24/7 365. Each day is a challenge or adventure I am in a constant state of stress there is no such thing as 6 hrs of uninterrupted sleep if I can squeeze in a walk I am lucky. I also started daily stretching and changing my diet because I have gained about 30 pounds it those 8 years just not caring or paying attention to me. I have lost 4 pounds cutting most not all sugar out of my diet! Thank you.
I walk with a buddy and our 2 dogs a couple of miles every morning at about 5:30am. I've been doing that for about a year and a half. During that time, along with eating Keto and OMAD, I've lost 115lbs. I gave most of the credit to Diet, but I love the walking for how it makes me feel. Wakes me up better than any coffee ever did, although, I still drink it. LOL
Did you experience any pleatu during your journey? Congratulations!
@@oshontheexperience6440 Thank You and Yes I did have plateaus. It was mostly when I started out as just low carb and not full KETO. Once I went full Keto and got my fasting up to OMAD, the weight fell off of me. Any plateaus were short lived and I pushed through them quickly. It's not all about the weight loss though. I was diabetic, I have a pacemaker and had a heart attack. All of my blood work is better. I'm not longer type II Diabetic, my A1C is down from 6.5 to 5.0. My Triglycerides were over 600 and now are 85. Cholesterol is 156 down from over 250. My sleep apnea is better. My prostate issues are better. I'm simply much healthier and feel much better. I have more energy than I've had in decades. Without question it's the best thing I've ever done for my overall health other than maybe quitting smoking after 30 years.
@@tke2414 thank you for sharing your story. Truly inspirational!
Hi Autumn, I've been following your great content for quite some time now and I'll be honest, I love your approach! I love the science based but reality based work. I have NEVER purchased a product recommended by anyone on you tube but just received my LMNT offer today. I LOVE LMNT!!!! Thank you so much for your amazing work to support a wider community of people (I live in Canada). Looking forward to more and thanks to you, being a regular LMNT customer.
Thank you for all your excellent content! You helped me start easy with just intermittent fasting, then moved into better nutrition and now focused walking. So far 30# down, dropped cholesterol by 35 points and no longer pre diabetic …. In just 3 months. Kept me off medication. You are an inspiration. Thank you so much!
Great video! I really appreciate the way you get right to the point rather than a lengthy intro. I like the tempo and the motivation. Thank you!
This was a great informative video. All the things I've learned in years of trial an error...and its all here for people now...not tomorrow...or when they have the time to research! You're awesome!
Very well explained and understandable. Thank you so much for this video!
I walk every morning and every evening with my dog. I need to add a few extra minutes to go without the dog so that I have a bit more of a cardio workout. I would like to add a lunchtime walk too. Thank you. This is a very encouraging video.
I love my stand up desk. I get up and walk in place or put my resistance band on and alternate lifting my knees up for 15 min every hour. I have a lot more energy now. In the evenings I walk 5 miles while my kids have football practice 4 times per week.
Love all your videos Autumn especially the walking ones gives me big motivation too complete a 1000 mile walking challenge here in the 🇬🇧 keep them brilliant videos coming. 🚶♀️🚶♂️
Thank you Autumn for this walking schedule, very helpful indeed.
I love your videos. Thank you for all the information!
This video was just . . . WOW! Definitely gonna try the morning walk!
In the past 9 months I’ve lost 72 pounds. I’ve walked . Simple as that. Of course it goes with a change in diet. I feel like a new person. I did weigh a bit over 180 lbs. on a small 5 foot frame, that was a lot. 😊😊
Great information as always love your videos very helpful for my healthy journey ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm in Alberta 🇨🇦, and being October, it's going to take everything I have to just get up and go for 30 minutes in the morning!! I only want to lose 10-15lbs, this is my goal for the New Year
Thank you for the great tips 🌹 I walk four days a week Mon Wed Fri and Sat for 2 hrs putting in at least 5 - 6 miles or more per walk in the mornings before eating or drinking anything. I also workout everyday even on the days I do not walk for at least 15 - 30 min after returning from my walk and I eat very healthy since April/2023. Bc I make healthier choices I have gone from 190 lbs to 164 lbs. My goals is 145/150
Great insight. Thank you.
I just started doing the morning walk after my overnight shifts. I think I'll start doing the evening ones too on my days off. Extreme back pain is keeping me from going too far but something is better than nothing. Thanks for the motivation!
Oh gosh I was looking for someone who works overnights!! It’s so hard for me after a 12 hour grave shift to walk but I am gonna give it a shot in the mornings before I sleep
@@shadowbannedagain6753 I work 12 hour overnights too, but after getting my kids to school it's bed :)
I work overnight shift to. I try to walk 20-30 min each night in the hallway. That has helped my back a lot and it helps to keep the weight in same place and to go down if I combine it with more walks/ workouts. The best part is the energy it gives me.
Omg I couldn't think of anything more scary then walking after nightshift 🤣. However I'm trying to walk out how to incorporate 45-60 min walking after I wake up abd pick the kids up from school.
Keep up the great work Autumn 👍
Thank you Autumn
Nobody talks about the evening walks at all and all their benefits for weightloss, relaxing and sleep!
I discovered the evening walks benefits a few months ago out of bordem and by accident and it was serendepitous for me! I'm doing it ever since.
Cheers and keep up the authentic content!👍✌👍
Yes, the evening walks are such a game changer for overall health and wellness. So happy it's working out for you!
I've been walking my dog most days first thing in the morning. It's been a very slow weight loss, about half a pound per week. Its true about walking outside, it improves your our mood.
Autumn, You speak quickly but That's cool. Great advice keep it up.
I'm so so glad I found your channel here..I am 60 years old and want to lose 10-15 lbs ..I walk/run most days in my local park or do cardio videos on off days .. I will now walk first thing in the morning and get up more during the day ..I make a healthy protein/fat rich smoothie with greens each morning .. I have to cut out snacks, I have cut way down but need to do better
Thank you so so much!! I am in really good shape for my age but want to improve
I feel like you are my personal coach, so knowledgeable 🙂
One thing I did a few years ago was to commit to walk outside every day. I live in a state with lots of sub freezing days and really hot days, and had to invest in some warmer layers and even headlamps. It’s helped a ton, and it feels great to come back after a walk in the snow or rain like you overcame adversity and made your body and mind more resilient.
Autumn, thank you morning walks wake me up and set a pace for my whole day 👍🏻
you're very welcome! I agree, the morning walk really helps to boost energy levels in the morning. Keep up the amazing work!
So helpful! Thank you!❤
Super great advice 💯 i’m gonna start including tthat evening walk!!
I walk 5 miles every morning in any weather except thunderstorms. I also often go for a 30 minute walk at lunch.
Helpful video 👍👍
I do yoga for 15-30 minutes first thing in the morning and have an active job in construction, so I only go on walks in the late afternoon or early evening which I find very relaxing.
I have to have coffee first thing in the morning before I even breathe.
As I’m trying to lose weight this year I’m going to start doing more walking.
Thanks Ms Autumn For 🇳🇬 Making 🇯🇵 Walking 🚶 Great 🇮🇹 Again 🇫🇷 In 2023🐰🐰!
I Learnt Heaps! From New Zealand 🇳🇿
I'm so thankful for finding your channel!! U have given me so much crucial information....such as it's better to walk in the AM!! I'm not wanting to bulk just lose flab and tone! I only have 1 hour to walk in the morning. So should I walk the whole hour OR break it up and do some weight training??
Sounds like good, solid advice.
Autumn, what are your thoughts on stevia promoting a rise in blood sugars if you consume them fasted... few doctors on youtube recommend only putting salt, lemon and ACV in your morning water (whilst fasting).
Great vids btw.
Cheers, love from NZ
I love you and your vids so much! I work nights and sleep from 4.30am to 12.30pm. Any recommendations for ppl like me on weight loss...I only need to lose 6 pounds. I eat fruits, veggies and soups a lot. On my day off I have a slice of cake and I eat rice and curried chicken...it's my treat! Thanks!
Great video Autumn! My 7yr old plays basketball everyday. Would LMNT be a good idea for him to take? If so, when?
Will put to use the tips with supporting detail. I have time for a 20 mint walk! And I’m off. See ya!
I have a good sip of water and take my 2 dogs for a leisure 15 min walk before I do ANYTHING. In the evening we go for a SOLID upbeat 30 min walk. I got in this routine a few weeks ago and it's now my happy times of the day.
I’d love to know your opinion on weight vest walking, 12-3-30 treadmill trend, and if either would trigger cortisol
Great video
Hello Autumn. What should your heart rate be during your walk in order to burn fat?
I do love a walk outside & the weather is getting nice I can start walking after every meal. Now just do an hr on the treadmill 4 days a week.
I've been going for 20k steps a day for about a month. I've been able to hit the target about 1/2 of the days so far and I'm working on trying to boost my step count on days I work (12 hr shifts). I've lost weight, my stomach is much flatter, legs leaner and haven't changed my diet.
20k steps is quite a bit and hard to do unless you are constantly walking
@@a-terrible-fate532 it takes me about 3 hours and i'm pretty slow. i also break it up
Okay, duly noted. Best time to go for a walk? When you have time. lol. Fall is coming, mid day walks maybe possible soon. Yes, I like electrolytes in the summer. Great review here.
WOE. Great video
Not all of us are sitting down when we work... as a teacher I'm constantly moving but I don't have the time to go outside. And walking in the morning...? Most of the time it's dark outside that early... 😅 But I will try to walk more...
I walk anywhere from 16k to 20k when I'm at work (5 days a week) plus 4k to 6k at the gym on the treadmill:)!
New to the channel. This video is very helpful, thank you.
@@AutumnBates Thank you for acknowledging my response! I've been listening to your videos since this morning!
I’m starting this tomorrow, I just had breakfast 😬 will go for a walk today though 😊
I purposely park about a mile away from work and walk the rest of the way. I also do omad. And I walk back to the car in a fasted state as well. Plus it’s free versus 160 bucks a month in parking.
I’m curious what all this is based on… And think it doesn’t matter when you walk… walking is good even when you are shopping or in a parking lot. Most of us are too busy to schedule walking… but steps can be counted by any fitness watch. I became smaller when I started counting steps instead of scheduling walks. No one has time for that… but she is informative. Just think that too many people make this harder than it needs to be. I think walking is great and thank you Dear for bringing it to the attention of younger people.
🌞 Walking is so addictive! I appreciate your emphasis on walking outside when able. It does wonders! ⚘Cheers! 🕊❤
I have been dealing with calf tightness/shin splints for a couple years now. I can't figure out why this came on all of a sudden. I'm going to give the LMNT a try and see if they help!
Thank you! What happens if I have a cup of black coffee before a walk in the morning?
I'm Type II diabetic & my dr is against me doing the fasting. But I am excited to add the walking. Age (78), weight, & physical limitations have added to my sedentary lifestyle. I'm positive the walking - even w/o fasting - will be beneficial. Fear of falling means I'll walk inside -- at least until I feel stronger. Thank you for making me feel so encouraged.
I just ordered LMNT! Thank you!
About to head out for an hour hike.
Texas weather is perfect right now.
This week I’m trying 12,000 steps in and next week will be 14,000 and so on until I’m doing 20,000 steps
I have about 100 pounds to lose.😬
I loved this video, very informative and helpful!
Thank you!
2024. I d be glad to lose 20 kilograms. Just can't push myself to set goals and reach em.
Until today. First walk in the evening.
@@Zaluskowsky just take baby steps.
First few weeks seem to be the hardest for me. That’s why I say do just a little at a time 10-15 minutes at a time until it starts to feel good. And that may be a week or two before you start to really feel the benefits of walking. You got this!
Hi Autumn! I would love to start incorporating fasted walks in the morning. My one concern is hormone health -- I know that working out fasted/exerting too much energy without fueling my body has led to some hormone issues for me. However, I'd love to take advantage of that fasted fat burning time frame in the morning. Is walking while fasted something most women's bodies still feel "safe" to do? :) Thanks so much!
Have you tried taking BCAAs? They don’t technically break your fast and can fuel your body a bit more if you have had issues in the past
Can marching in place be compared to regular walking if knees are lifted high enough?
The weather in AZ is starting to get cooler and the air quality should be getting better. I usually walk for 3 miles total (45 minutes). I also like doing planks during intermittent fasting.
Ahh yes, I remember the amazing fall AZ weather when I lived there for a few years. Enjoy it!
What about doing a mini stepper workout? If we do it slow as to not rev up heart rate? Thanks you.
Wow, that's a lot of walking. Having 2 kids makes that schedule difficult; I need to be available for them in the morning, then I can walk for 30 min before lunch break, but then after dinner = kids again until they are in bed. I'm doing the best I can. Please keep the great info coming.
Just a suggestion mama of 4 here. I wake up an hour before I have to wake up my kiddos to go get mine in if that helps any. It sucks but if not I won’t find time later to fit it in.
I'm recovering from surgery, so I'm home and able to walk in the morning. I'm going about 90 minutes to 2 hours. What should my pace be for fat loss? I'm walking about a 14 to 15 minute mile. Is that to fast or to slow? Thanks
You already answered my question you get the unflavored thank you
Good point. Since I don't eat my first meal until 2:00 PM give or take; this gives me all morning. Never understood the concept of eating first thing in the morning. However, I get it, most people can't go two hours without eating. Sad.
I work retail and I am on my feet for 10-12 hours a day…wait for it….overnights. 9pm-9am. I average about 15,000 steps daily
Thank you for this video! This is wonderful advice 😀 Also your hair is beautiful!!!! 💞
Love your channel. Can we get clarity?
I have heard many different things about taking magnesium during a fast. I am doing a 30 day fast and would like to support my body as best as I can. I have added sea salt and pink Himalayan salt to my daily water and want to know if I can add magnesium and potassium to help my body without breaking the effects of the fast. Thank you so much. I really do love your channel
How about elliptical machine? Can it replace indoor/treadmill walking ?
I have been skipping the walk and cutting ,hauling, splitting, stacking firewood for 4 hours the past 3 days!
@@AutumnBates 65years young, down 50 pounds in 4 months. Keto and IF. 20 more to go. All with your help.
I heard if you take a thirty-minute walk first thing in the morning before you drink anything will really help with weight loss. Take water with you to be safe of course.
What speed should I do on the treadmill for 45 mins?
Can we get a UK offer for LMNT at all? Just I can refer back to your channel!
I prefer running... Is there a difference between running or walking? Is one more preferable?
Does using an elliptical vs a treadmill work in the same way?
I have to have a low salt diet because I make kidney stones and have high blood pressure. I am also diabetic. So, should I think the weight will not come off as easy?
Does it have to be walking every hour or can I do a few squats or push ups?
Hi Autumn, i love your videos, im from mexico and i recently started walking home after my strength training, i was wondering if jogging has the same fat burning effect than walking, going on a 5 mile per hour rhythm, or do you think i should go slower?
Hi! If you haven't checked it out already, I have a video that dives into these details here: ua-cam.com/video/CqnnsxYk8bE/v-deo.html
3 miles is 3 miles. The same if you walk or jog. the only difference is your heart rate. Increased exertion raises heart rate and helps oxygenate. So the pulmonary function is benefited for both heart, lungs and working up a sweat.
Is just walking on the treadmill ok for weightloss
I drink a protein shake and am a diabetic. Should I still walk before shake.
While watching your video I walk in place.
I do 50 min before I eat my first meal it’s been my routine for 10 days later will be 11 days and I lost 8 pounds and bad days rainy days I would walk inside I don’t have a treadmill so I do from the kitchen to the living room I counted how many steps there and back is 14 so I’m doing that repeating back-and-forth back-and-forth while listening to my podcast on Spotify and literally I lost 8 pounds and I’m so excited that I am doing this as much as I can. My challenge is a month 10,000 steps every day and then add more steps the following month but I have been between 10,000 steps through. 13,000 because I time my two walks 50mins before I eat in the morning at 50mins after dinner. And whatever else I walk to go get food or do something that’s going to add on top of the 10K.
I never knew it was "element" I always said LMNT :)))
I went for my 1st morning walk today. I had to bundle up real good. If only my eyes were exposed, will I still get the negative ions benefit, wearing all those clothes?
I would love to walk 1st thing but I have 5 kids to get ready for school and still have one at home😳. So I am awake for awhile, can you do a walk at home without a treadmill. ( it is cold here already)
Summary:
1. Morning walk for 15-30 minutes before starting the day
2. Walk for a minute or two every hour
3. Try to take a walk after lunch -15 min
4. Evening walk after dinner- 5-15 min
Many thanks,kind regards Gareth.
