I couldn't agree more with your assessment of the Porsche 911 4S. I also agree that Porsche should make brakes standard in black and let owners choose (or pay extra) if they prefer a special color. Great video!
Hi Pablo, i do believe I complain about humidity in the rear light 💡 but perhaps I could claim that as pure information 😉 Thanks for watching and subscribing...
Asking Porsche for a paint choice on brakes is pointless. They don’t care what the consumers want. They think they do. The red brakes are the staple of the S model. The Base Carrara calipers are only anodized and they are terrible. I want a rear seat delete option on Carrara S.
I would drive the Panamera unless you are traveling on B-roads. Don't like driving the 911 on the high-way. BUT remember the Swedish roads have a rough surface, creating a lot of tire noise, that makes all cars far from quite. If you live in the south of Europe, then the long trip is another story. To summarize, its the noise the 911 creates on the Swedish roads that make the 911 hard to live with on long trips.
Bra job -:) I completely agree with you on the calibers - I can live with the red ones on my 991.2 but one reason that I would never consider the PCCB brakes is the yellow color / BMW even have their M brakes in blue which to me is even worse
Not sure why he is so "amazed". He is driving down a public street, at a painfully safe speed with no real challenges to speak of. Any car can do what he did easily. Now if he were at the track pushing it to the limits, then he would have something to talk about.
Best colors for me : gt silver, Carrara white, guards red, carmine red, stone gray , midnight blue Worst colors : miami blue ( ugly as hell) Yellow Best options: pdk , sport chrono ( mandatory ) , rs spyder wheels or carrera s wheel in black Dumb options: racing seats , anything stupid with leather when you cant touch it for example , back seat center console in leather Best models : carrera s, 4s , gts , turbo and gt3 Dumberst models : carrera 4 , anything cabriolet , 👎🏻
Having an automatic gearbox in a Porsche is self defeating. Are people really that obsessed with the Porsche "image", and millisecond gear changes, and increased performance measured in 1/100's of a second. I think the whole PDK thing focuses on people who don't know how to drive proper manual cars but want the image of super performance even when the reality is the closest they will get to a race track is a traffic jam on the interstate. Specs on a brochure are more important than reality. A sports car should only ever be a manual (like my own 911 C4s). If you can't drive a manual, get a Panamera Turbo Sport turismo.
Yes, PDK appeals to people who prefer to not change gears themselves: for a large part of modern everyday motoring having a manual box is a chore and promotes worse fuel economy, two reasons that the PDK was developed. At the other end of the spectrum, yes the PDK definitely does appeal to people trying to set the fastest lap times. A large proportion of GT3/RS cars end up being driven on the Nürburgring and on other tracks. Driving a manual in such a demanding circuit might be fun for a purist but you can't change gears as fast as a PDK and you risk upsetting the car by not getting heel-and-toe exactly correct, or missing gears. Also the higher performance cars can't handle the increased torque and horse power so easily with a manual transmission: Porsche had to reduce the power and torque of the GT3 to accommodate the manual transmission over the PDK. It's not a surprise that Porsche do not equip the GT3RS or GT2RS with a manual transmission: those cars are intended primarily for track use and a manual transmission would be counterproductive for reasons specified. If you enjoy a manual transmission then stick with that, just don't expect to be driving a GT3RS or a Turbo S. Personally I'd have a GT3 with manual transmission for pure driving enjoyment on road and maybe track, but if I am trying to go as fast as possible on track then there is no substitute for the PDK.
Check out videos from people driving at the Nürburgring (it's only milliseconds away on your browser): virtually everyone in a 911 is using PDK, mostly because they're GT3 or GT3RS drivers, and they also tend to be very talented. Check out people such as Sebastian Vittel (not a spelling error!) or Hinterherfahrer Bahram or Powerslide Lover or many others... Porsche are still looking after the more purist end of the market with the 911 Carrera T or Cayman GT4 etc. but as engines get more powerful, as in the 911 range, expect to see fewer manuals, if only because of the inability for manual clutches to handle the increased torque. This is undoubtedly one reason that the price of older Porsches and older manual sportscars in general are going through the roof. When you're moving increasingly towards 500HP in the base Carrera S then it's unsurprising that Porsche puts in fewer manuals, and even spirited drivers are demanding manuals less. But Porsche do listen to their customer base which is why we have a manual GT3 now, albeit with less power and torque than the PDK-equipped version, and the new Carrera T that only comes with the 370HP base model engine. And if you can afford one you can have a 500HP 911R with a manual transmission! I class myself as a reasonably decent enthusiastic driver with some track time under my belt and I still prefer a manual transmission. But if I'm going to be trying to do a decent lap on the track then I don't want to be worrying about messing up a shift and going into the barriers. The struggle between getting a 911 equipped with manual or PDK is real. In an ideal world I'd have both and be rich enough to afford to go to the Nürburgring several times a month, or more. Sadly I still live in the real world.
Bully for you. I will never own a PDK Porsche. A man in Florida was so keen to have a manual 911 Turbo, he had a conversion done to a manual. I buy a car for fun fun fun, nothing else. I don't care about fuel economy. Just get over it.
Classical manual fanboi comment focusing on "those who don't know how to drife/shift". What the fuck is your whole problem about a gearbox lmao. Everyone can do whatever the fuck they want with their sports car.
This 991.2 is much better looking than the new 992. Especially with this black configuration and turbo rims. Perfect. Classy and sexy as hell.
There is a Porsche for everybody. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
that 992 shift gear is hideous....one reason i chose a 991.2
Wow... that sound when accelerating !! #theartofdriving !! 👌🏼
Sure is, good luck with your purchase

The Andrew Agency red is perfect if you want black calipers get a pickup truck
Finally someone's talking about the 911 and not complaining there's no place for a fucking lsrge bottle of water in the front pockets 😎😂😂😎

Janko, what mount are you using in the rear to hold your mobile phone? It looks really interesting.
I must check, do not use my phone anymore when I produce videos. Thanks for watching and subscribing.

Some times it’s hard to navigate in the Porsche option list and what you are able to do outside the list.
Its true, never drive a Porsche in the winter because the snow can damage the engine.
hey janko. how would you rate the 911 for longer road trips?

Janko Lind Thank you, that is a very clear answer. 👍🏼
Do you have the link for the tires
Sorry no I have not, :-(

Anders Jensen mmm do you consider the atonishing price on the pccb yellow brakes , or just the color 🤑🤑
Anders Jensen m calipers in blue are a beauty , you should not get sports cars , all of them have color calipers
Antoine Sannfilipo both - for driving on public roads the standard brakes are just fine
From a marketing perspective, porsche is doing the smartest and most lucrative thing. Don't forget, porsche is a business.
Another great video Swede!
Var det här filmad i Karlstad?
No, it was not, this episode is filmed closed to Tullgarn. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Another great review!
Thanks 🙏Ken. Happy 😃 that you continue to explore my channel. I believe the Carrera 4s review was my very first, making a tribute to Nick Murray.
Great video!!
Thanks I'll just started and appreciate your comment.
Great spec...but I would add the rear wiper! Cheers!
In Sweden 🇸🇪 that option is not common. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Good review

Antoine Sannfilipo labeling things "dumb" is the dumbest response I’ve ever seen. My dream 911 is a manual, Miami Blue cabriolet. No go figure...
This is the dumbest comment I've seen, excepting the users with "2019?????" "2018?"
