  • In honour of completing our second anniversary with our 2017 Porsche 911 991.2 long-term test car, and recognizing the end of the 991 era as the age of the new 992 dawns, we’re taking our 991.2 on an epic road trip from the Los Angeles area, up the Pacific Coast Highway to Big Sur and back down to L.A.

    The auto neutral is such a smart idea on this car that can give you 25 mpg coasting on the highway!

    Classic car, gorgeous views and great vid. Trying to find a used version of this car, this vid helps.. thank you!
    BTW, auto start/stop is not for fuel efficiency but to reduce emissions across the globe.

    • @TrackWorthy
      @TrackWorthy  Рік тому

      That is a good point. Urban driving studies have shown that start-stop can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 10% and improve fuel efficacy and consumption by 8%.

    Mugu Rock - an iconic location for many TV commercials; the drive from Monterey along PCH to San Luis Obispo is definitely scenic and less traveled compared to Highway 101 between both destinations... came across your video for research/reviews of the 991.2 ... going to procure one in the near future

    Turn the start stop shit off. Going into sport mode kills it - so that s the best way to get rid of it. You can turn it off independently as well.

    I drove my 2016 Camaro 2SS from Sarnia to Edmonton, Banff, Jasper, Vancouver, Vancouver Island and back through USA northern states-many 600 and 700 miles days-never once was I exhausted from the drive and always felt like I do after 60 miles exiting the car-why are you exhausted after driving a great car a few miles? Oh I also have Mag ride and drove always in sport mode-just wondering

    Beautiful trip. Nicely done.
    Lousy gas mileage…..but I’m basing that on my 992 911 C2.
    I’m easily getting 32 on the same roads.

    Your math is wrong 9.3 Ltd/100 = 30.4 mpg imperial

      @@Ramzes945leftist socialist woke insane politicians run the government- so the have created a system that rewards insanity - like allowing shoplifting as long as you don’t steal more than $950 at a time. Homeless people are everywhere and the leave shit and drug needles everywhere. I could go on for days with horrible stories why Cali is driving normal people away.

    Well, you will always get better gas mileage going south. When traveling north, you are always going 'up' and then, 'down' when heading south. Don't believe me? Lay a map on the floor or table with north on the map pointed north. Then look at the area on the map you will be traveling. If you are going north, you will be traveling up the map and then, down the map when traveling south. Therefore, traveling down will always get you better gas mileage, just like it does when you come down from a mountain. If this doesn't make since, ask yourself; why do people in LA always say they are going "up" to Frisco and then say they are gong "down" to LA. It's just a matter of using your common sense, really...
