  • When you can't get to the gym or for what ever other reasons you don't have access to the gym equipment minimalist training might come handy.
    Body weight combined with simple equipment like a resistance band or a pair of sliding (gliding) discs can add a challenge to your workout.
    It is especially effective for the anterior side of your body.
    On this video Mariusz Steckiewicz gives few examples of the sliding discs routines you may want to try. We'll show you how to do a full-body workout using gliding discs or sliders. These small discs are a great addition to any workout routine as they help increase the intensity of your exercises by adding instability to your movements. Follow along with us as we demonstrate 10 different exercises that will help strengthen and tone your entire body.
    Featured on the video: Mariusz Steckiewicz, Personal Trainer at Body Shape, Ho Chi Minh City.

    Thanks for making this video this is great. These types of workouts are underestimated for athletic performance. That pistol squat you did is impressive and most people don’t have that kind of mobility

      Thank you very much for your kind words. I agree with you 100% that many people could benefit vastly from a simple, not easy, selection of exercises. I tried to demonstrate the wide spectrum of progression from easy to hard. Perhaps there are a few moves a bit advanced but, hey, shouldn't there be something to aim for? :D
      Have a great day.

    Great video, thanks. I wanted to love the pistol squat so bad, but I found them kinda hard on the knee. Probably will stick to the side lunge. Great video for constructing a slider workout!! Will keep using. 😊👍🏾

    • @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605
      @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605  4 роки тому +2

      Thank you for your comment. If you want to proceed with the pistol squat you can limit the depth of the squat at first and go little by little trying to stay within knee pain-free zone. Another option could be using a suspension trainer (like TRX or similar) or a resistance band to assist with the movement. Always go by the feeling. All the best, Mariusz.

    Do you find these work fine on your rubber gym flooring? I'll be installing some soon, I'm concerned a new rubber floor+sliding disks will be too much traction=no mobility!!??

    • @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605
      @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605  3 роки тому

      Hi Suzanne, rubber floor might be an issue and the friction needs to be rather low for the sliding disks to be used. Usually they have two sides: for the hard slippery surface, like terracotta floor and the soft surface like a carpet.

    I have been struggling with mine at home while doing Solidcore. Any suggestions about the Body Saw? My discs go out, but I am unable to get back in. I appreciate your help.

    • @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605
      @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605  4 роки тому

      Hi Lori, thank you for your question. Good point. Firstly you need to make sure the sliders give you a really good slide. Usually, both sides of the sliding disks can be used, depending on the surface you are training. The plastic side works great on a carpet type surface while the fabric side does well on a solid floor, like tiles or laminated floors. You may also try wearing shoes to ensure feet stay better on your disks. If you could send me a video, I could answer more precisely. Please, don't hesitate: mariusz@bodyshape.vn cheers

    • @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605
      @bodyshapefitnessvietnam9605  4 місяці тому

      However, if your core is weaker, or you have any spine/low back pain history, you would need to select carefully exercises to ensure a slow and very careful progression, while paying special attention to controlling the spine position.
