For those of y'all saying you don't see a door after cutting the hole, you have to start the vehicle! Once you cut the hole out and start the vehicle, you will see the door actually move forward, which is letting the hot air through. Push the door back & jam it with something like he did to keep the door pushed back.
I'm having the same issue with my 2004 Yukon Denali. The dealership want to charge me $800. The piece is only around $50 - $100. I rather do it myself. It looks very simple!
Frederick Smith Changing the actuator is easy but that's not the case in the video. The actuator door hinge broke off which you have to take off the entire console to replace the actuator door which is less than $50
Ya I'm having the same issue, thanks for the tips. I'm getting hot air coming out the rear vents but ice cold in the front. I bought a blend door actuator front junk yard (pull-a-part) and installed but got the same results. I'm going to try your fix. Did you have to cut the door to insert the plastic piece?
****Don't listen to this MFER. He messed up and now wants you too as well.*** I just did it and it definitely didn't work and there is no door to"pry shut"
Mark Johnson The actuator wasn't broken. It was the actuator door hinge which needed to be replaced and would have required the entire console to be removed.
Is it still working for you? Do you have to open the bled door in winter? I just replaced the actuator and its not blowing cold on driver side but not passenger side

Thank you, I just fixed mine.
If you remove the blend door actuator you can turn the part that moves the door no need to cut.
Thank you
I like to thank you for the information I did everything you did and my AC works fine again to thanks partner

Is there any way to change the door or the box has to be replaced

Take the door jam out and turn the ac button off...
Do u no how replace the front heater core. I have a 2002 Cadillac escalade
Do you have rear AC? Was it blowing cold air when the front was blowing hot air?
This did not work on my 2003 Escalade. There was no door behind opening number 1! Guess for some reason it was different setup..
