I had a 68 Mustang, and I LOVED that car. Quarter panels were rusted through, and the paint was bad, but just loved it! Nice job on cleaning the old girl upà
Gosh, Mitch, this one takes me BACK. I am gonna go on for a minute or two, my apologies to those who dont like long posts. My dad had a 1969 Mustang Grande, very much like this one. The "Grande" package was "meant" to be a "luxury version" of the Mustang, but, at least in 69, was the version people said "hell, no, I want the Mach one!" to. My dad's was actually bought used, he got it from a young man who had just come home from Vietnam, and "thought" he wanted a car, (until he had one!). The car was with the vynil roof, just like that one. My dad's car had a 390, which was a HECK of a lot of motor for that Mustang, and it sure gave the car the ability to get up and go. The car started out as my dad's pride and joy, and I recall some guy in a Camaro wanting to race my dad, but, dad wouldn't, cuz my sister and I were in the car. (speaking of which, that carpet? I recall that carpet VIVIDLY. Mitch, that was so long ago, I was able to kneel down in the back, ON that carpet between the front and rear seats. (I know, it IS a small space. I can also tell you there were two bolts on that tunnel holding the drivetrain in place, and they would warm up significantly. That Mustang may have had the leather added to the doors and dash, I don't know. I also did not see the clock (broken) on the glove box. As I said, that was my dad's pride and joy, and then, it became "the work car", and then it became the only car, and then, it became the broken down car in the garage. When I turned 16, I was given the car. My dad told me the only caveat was, no racing if I could get it running. I never could. Like that car, the steel used back then was pretty crappy, your man is going to be in for a huge challenge to get it back in good order. One my car, the frame cracked, and was rotted so badly, it was not worth fixing. We were going to have it towed away, for twenty five bucks, as scrap, until my dad told the guy that there was a 390 in it. He gave us 500 bucks (in 1984). I have always thought I wanted to get another Grande, and restore it, but, it's just not worth it. Truth be told, I don't miss the car, it just reminds me of my dad. He passed away in 1986.
Don't worry dude, I have a tendency to rave on a bit myself. Relaying fond memories are not long but interesting. Especially for us older fellows who have memories going back many years.🥸
You might be surprised how easy frame repairs are on these. A friend had a 6 cylinder Mustang that was a rot box. He found a pristine but accident damaged 68 Falcon with a 289. He swapped the subframes between the two cars in his driveway in under a week. Personally I would have fixed the Falcon.
I just love the way these old Mustangs look! The bodies are just so appealing to me. I can't imagine being able to say, "Oh yeah, I've owned it since I was TEN." How cool!
Loved the little critter hand prints sliding up and down the windows haha. Beautiful job looking after this very fragile car, would love a follow up when the owner has it restored!
Great job! I wish the internet was around in 1978 when I was trying (in vain) to make my '68 Mustang look new. Unfortunately, Michigan rust was faster than I and it ultimately won the war.
I once had a used powder-blue, ‘68 Mustang, ragtop. It was a real cream puff and I loved it. There’s nothing like a clean “classic” car. When cars were mechanical, not computers you drive. Warms the cockles of my heart. 💕😎
@@joelbuchanan471 Thanks, Joel. I've been in similar situations and regretted not preparing. Ooh! A plastic chair mat would work. Hard floor chair mat (no nubs) by day, stealthy drain cover when needed.
Always get your car running before you invest in cleaning it (or give it a quick wash yourself). Finishing comes after your'e done with the mechanical. Also, if the paint is failing, there's really no concern if you take any off with the pressure washer. In fact, it's probably better to remove all loose paint now, so the owner can primer it and keep it from rusting out while waiting for the bodywork and final paint job.
I find you really get to know what you've got if you clean ( yourself) it's also inspiring, although sometimes you think what have got myself into when you find rust !!

This made me quite sad. 35 years ago I was 20-years-old and had a '69 Mustang coupe--just like this one--that I had wanted to restore. But it sat too long at my mother's house and she told me it had to go and so, having no other choices and a complication with the title, I was forced to sell it as a junker for $100. I think about that car often and this video hit that disappointment all of those years ago and all of the ongoing disappointment since. I'm loving these videos, though. Remarkable transformations.

I have a question.. why bother cleaning really old tires when basically aren’t they unusable because of their age? Isn’t the owner going to definitely want to replace the tires because old and maybe brittle?
For those of us that do our own vehicles, do you have any tips or tricks? My son and I wash our vehicles together. His is a mini cooper and mine is a 4x4 Ram. He gets the parts I can’t reach, short mom probs, tall son solutions. Gravel roads, sun and mud take a toll. We use a pressure washer already, but any additional ideas are helpful. Thanks. The 1969 Mustang refreshed an incredible new brand and brought restoration from an abandoned barn for 20 years. It's worth it and looking so beautiful classical car. Mitch, I am grateful for sharing the video. Have an awesome weekend! 👍😊❤️

'65 and 66 were great but the 69 somehow lost the nice lines IMO anyway. Then in 70 they got it back then lost it in '71 with the bread van shape.

Hey Mitch! Just want to tell you that we will like the shots that you have no matter what method you use. You don’t need to do the car a different way just for footage. Do it how ever you think it will work best and clean best.
Have you ever done a full how to video of your process for a detail? My truck is nearing 7 years old now and was thinking of trying. Of course I could just follow one of your vids but just wondering. Love the process my man, fun to watch!
I like watching all your videos. I have started a small detailing business of my own and alot of what I have learned is from watching your videos. Appreciate all the tips and tricks you have shown me and others over the years. Keep up the fantastic work.
Why didn't you use your pressure washer to get all the stuff off the seatbelt instead of rubbing it back in even though you use, the steamer, it still had accesdirt all over it
My neighbor growing up had a 69 mustang just like this one. This is the car that made me fall in love with mustangs particularly the 69 which is my dream car
I'm just watching Ford vs Ferrari and thought... I wonder what Mitch is doing? Would you look at that!!! This is my dream car! I'm so stoked for this one.
17:00 DUDE!!!! WHY DONT YOU TAKE THE CARPET OUT?? Bro on a car like this, with That much Mouse poop in it, why are you not taking the carpet out and cleaning underneath, because you then wash the carpet in the car and any mouse poop under the carpet, and there definitely will be, just turns in to a smelly bacteria poop soup, I really like this channel and you, but this bro is my biggest issue, dude you absolutely have to take out the carpets, jetwash them and thoroughly clean the floor underneath, otherwise why even bother doing half of it?? Come on maaaan!!
The interior of that Mustang was in incredible condition! I didn’t think it was worth cleaning and just kept saying naa, just replace it 😂 you did fantastic on that beauty ❤❤
I've been binge watching your videos. I really hope you dont fall into depression from how many nasty things you clean in most cars. You inspire me to keep mycar clean.
The phrase “polishing a turd” comes to mind here…not sure I see the point of polishing a car that actually needs a whole new paint job…am I missing something?
Boy, does this one bring back some memories! Accel wires and "super coil." Black [hard to find now] Keystones. Padded Grant steering wheel. My '69 was a 351 powered convertible. The carpet is nylon loop. Pretty indestructible, though fading from sun is common. Lots of good times in that car... BTW, a towel or tarp over the drain will keep you from dropping stuff into the pit.
I used to work at a used car dealership, one of our detail guys would spray paint the carpet. I didn't think it was a great idea, but it looked new when it was complete.
Incredible work. I suppose my biggest concern is the state of the floor under the carpeting on the inside (where it looked particularly rusty) as to how deep the rust went. I could never leave an abandoned vehicle on my property, for vermin (and eyesore) reasons.
I was feeling cold today in the UK, until I saw this Mustang being driven in on the trailer. Quesion I have always wanted to ask, is how many cloths do you use on a detail, last weeks truck was a lot bigger, but you must have cloths for all different places you are cleaning, then how do you best clean those cloths? Quick cold wash or longer hot wash in the washing machine?
Woulda been cool to have hits from 1969 playing, notwithstanding the copyright issues. My mom had a black 1971 Mustang Mach 1, which also sat in a barn, and was covered in dust, bird droppings, and raccoon footprints. She managed to get it to a shop to see if it was salvageable, alas, the cost of repair was too much. Great to see this restoration project, nice work.
Hey! love your videos, i am car enthusiast and i was thinking about starting doing detailing in my village / small city, bought some products like APC, some brushes, glass cleaner etc. I was wondering how much time does it take you to clean whole car, of course recording whole process is time consuming but lets say without recording it how much time should it take to was exterior and interior. Greetings from Poland!
What an absolutely beautiful shape/design that car is..Particularly the front end, totally unique and unbeatable IMHO..Thank you for posting..Look forward to 'Part 2'. UK
I love that particular year Mustang. There are not too many left on the road or garage kept. As with the rest of the commenters, I would not mind seeing some follow-up pics after full restoration is complete. The black interior of those cars was as sporty as the exterior. The black on black is a good look on that body style. I just hope the owner keeps the 'triple threat' package and leaves the vinyl top. With all that chrome, the original look is hard to beat IMO. Great video, keep them coming!

For the interior dash....you should use one of those humidity warm water spray and suck tools to get clean all the nooks and crannies in the dash.
That is fantastic! Absolutely belter job, your efforts to get all vehicles looking top shape are undoubtedly world class!
Love the videos!!
Thank you very much!
Have you ever done a full how to video of your process for a detail? My truck is nearing 7 years old now and was thinking of trying. Of course I could just follow one of your vids but just wondering. Love the process my man, fun to watch!
John Wick would be proud ;)
I would love to see Keanu in this one!
That's my dream car - great to see it get freshened up. Awesome work!
Mitch could literally polish a turd. Great work! 👍
Thanks! 😄
I like watching all your videos. I have started a small detailing business of my own and alot of what I have learned is from watching your videos. Appreciate all the tips and tricks you have shown me and others over the years. Keep up the fantastic work.
Why didn't you use your pressure washer to get all the stuff off the seatbelt instead of rubbing it back in even though you use, the steamer, it still had accesdirt all over it
I used to have a 69 mustang when I was in high school. Mine was similar but green with the hard top. Brought back a lot of memories. Sweet Clean!! 👍👍
Bro just cleaned John Wick's car 💀
My neighbor growing up had a 69 mustang just like this one. This is the car that made me fall in love with mustangs particularly the 69 which is my dream car
29:00 is the money shot
I'm just watching Ford vs Ferrari and thought... I wonder what Mitch is doing? Would you look at that!!! This is my dream car! I'm so stoked for this one.
Why this car's tyres didn't get flat in 20 years ? 😐
I'm a Chevy guy, but a muscle car enthusiast all together. This is so friggin cool man, Love you, Mitch
Uhh are you sure you havent time traveled back to 1969 to just steal one from there? the difference is negligible!
The exterior was as good as it can get until the body shop does their thing but the interior looked amazing! Nice work 🤙
Thanks! 👍
The question on everyone's mind is....How much did this cost?
Probably too much even in that state
I've been binge watching your videos. I really hope you dont fall into depression from how many nasty things you clean in most cars. You inspire me to keep mycar clean.
The phrase “polishing a turd” comes to mind here…not sure I see the point of polishing a car that actually needs a whole new paint job…am I missing something?
I restored my 1982 Fiat 2000 spider and so much of what you were doing reminded me of the project!
Amazing job on the Mustang. You can see the passion you have for detailing cars. Keep up the amazing and great job.
The work you do is nothing but pure magic on all the vehicles you do
Incredible work.
Man that’s a beauty! I’d like to see the final restoration of this classic in a future video. Awesome job!
These abandoned cars, are putting you through it, but sooo worth it. The transformations are wild.
Hey! love your videos, i am car enthusiast and i was thinking about starting doing detailing in my village / small city, bought some products like APC, some brushes, glass cleaner etc. I was wondering how much time does it take you to clean whole car, of course recording whole process is time consuming but lets say without recording it how much time should it take to was exterior and interior. Greetings from Poland!
Love these saving grace details! Why not have a lift installed so you can easily access the bottom portion of the cars?
You should really include the customer reactions. It would be great to see their expressions after the detailing. Wow.... Excellent work. 👍👌
What an absolutely beautiful shape/design that car is..Particularly the front end, totally unique and unbeatable IMHO..Thank you for posting..Look forward to 'Part 2'. UK
These old cars are so beautiful. The mustangs, the camaros, the GTs... I just love them
I was so excited to see this one! My dad had this year model in red when I was 4 years old. I LOVE this year model! Good job 👍🏻
I’d love to see what he does with this car. We definitely need an update on a classic car like this
This car is a thing of beauty and i so appreciate the work and craftsmanship that went into making it
I was born in 1966. Life was much easier back then. There is too much planned obsolescence going on today and it sucks.
WOW, this Mustang was revived!!!
As Always Amazing!!!❤❤❤❤
