Why should we have to spend extra money trying to protect our cars, The best thing to do is throw out that dwarf Khan and throw out the ULEZ altogether problem solved . No more cash cow no more problems
What has happened to society?? Turning on eachother rather than just getting governments back to being public servants rather than our masters.
100% correct
Exactly. We should all be removing our number plates on ULEZ day
Maybe take your plates off and drive around normally until you get stopped and then just says that your plate had just been stolen lol
Report your plates stolen now ready to defend the fines you incur later👍
Everyone should do this…to be prosecuted there can’t be “reasonable doubt” in this country…if you reported plates stolen and then, for example, get a speeding camera fine all you have to say is that the plates were stolen and it wasn’t you…thank me later.
The other thing to do is put stickers in the window front and back so if someone has cloned your car, they will have to clone the stickers you can prove its not your car in the photo because no stickers save time dated of your car showing stickers
That's a really good tip!
Yes, great idea. I saw a program where the police could not read all the number plate, but identified the car by stickers on the back window.
Get a paper some stickers and say cheese .

You can easily buy plates from places that make up 'show' plates - just ensure you request them to be 'road legal' plates (e.g. with BS number/post code etc) and with the correct font and spacing. Last time I checked they were about £20.
@@boootros If I genuinely need plates why I should pay £40 for plates from an authorised DVLA seller when I can pay less than £20 for the exact same plates from an online show plate seller? Besides, thieves don't need any advice from me!
About 5 years ago a guy at work had his plates cloned and got caught speeding and various other offences in London. Although the vehicle was fundamentally the same, he was able to prove he was not there from CCTV footage in the area he actually was. One reason CCTV is not that bad.
This has happened too me 3 times now, spoke with the police and they told that they use your plates for a few months then swap them them put them back on at a later date and expect more fines
It's incredibly easy getting a set of road legal plates made, cheaply and no questions about ID being asked.
I had my registration cloned back in the late 90's. The Dutch police wrote to me saying a vehicle with my registration was used in a robbery in Amsterdam... I had never been to Amsterdam until 2014. Suffice to say I wrote back with proof of my cars location on the date in question. It was in the garage having new brakes fitted.
Phew!
😅🤸😃🤸😃🤸😃
Never mind cloning, I need to ring my own car to a smaller engine size version and pay the lower road tax rate for it🤣
Might as well go all in an rebrand it to something else for the cheaper insurance too lol
😅🤸🤸🤸🤸🤸😀

I had my plates cloned during lockdown whilst I had severe COVID. Same vehicle same colour car driving in pedestrian walk path, bus lane, parking on double red lines. Reported it to DVLA they were absolutely useless. Had to provide 2 signed letters from colleagues that I was genuinely recovering from COVID and had joined zoom calls to the company wanting monies for 3 PCN's. When this criminal pirate was carrying out these offences!
Sorry to hear.
The criminals are the fuckwits dreaming up all this shite to force the motorists off the road
That's brutal.
What a load of hassle jjust to prove your innocent😊
Yeah, that's awful. Maybe just get rid of the vehicle?
@@HerrBasa on sale right now on Auto Trader if anyone is interested?
The 20mph zones are a pain. I’ll be cycling and stuck behind a car doing the speed limit
Tax, insurance, MOT, how do you think we feel?! 😏
I did hear that the Welsh government want to reduce EVERY 30mph limit in Wales to a 20mph limit. Not sure if this is still true though.
@@john1v6 Pretty much yes ; effective September 17th.. All residential areas - not 'quite' the same as all 30mph but close enough.
(Some 20 signs already in place but covered over for now).
A motorcyclist I follow on UA-cam was subjected to a torrid barrage of unrepeatable expletives after being hounded by a car driver because he was sticking to the posted 20mph limit 😢. Worse still, the pensioner in the car had what is presumed to be a Grandchild in the back 😮
All part of the skip fire that Britain has become.
A good tip would be to buy yourself a personalised plate - something easily identifiable. Still can be cloned of course but in my opinion less likely as crooks like to blend into the shadows........
Oh good, first catalytic converters to worry about now my damn plates, anything else? Want my wing mirrors?
You can take my wife.
@@vodaredhill1704 what’s her specs?
You saying that reminds me of when I was in the Ukraine way back in 1988! Cars were parked up along some roads and they had no windscreen wiper blades! Some had no screw fit wing mirrors as well. I asked the tour rep why this was and was told that the black market for spares at that time was rife! So people took their wiper blades and wing mirrors off of their cars to stop them being stolen!!! 🙄

Find a TFL number plate and place them over your own. Keep up your crusade, mate. You speak sense and for the majority
Good video & advice Brown car guy, good of you to make everyone aware, cos the government certaintly don't ..

They don't even have to clone plates of a ULEZ compliant car. If someone else is going to be in the frame, then any plate will do.
Far better to use a non-compliant plate as this will create an admin headache for TFL and waste lots of their time
was a pleasure to meet you and thank you for let me t\ake a selfie in trafalgar square.

Ahhh the lovely A5 :)
To be honest if you post anything that identifies any of one’s possessions on social media is the stupidest thing going, it’s as bad as having Facebook listing your whereabouts 24/7.
I had some plates made from eBay and they never asked for my V5 or any evidence of ownership 🤷🏼♂️
@@keithpop3097 probably but they had all the markings like on a proper plate. They were 3D plates though.

I've had plates for my motorcycle bought online, no problem
Get a dash cam as well... Also enable location tracking in Google maps so you can prove where you were.
Asking for a friend…what is Sadiq Khan’s plate? 😂😂
The funny thing is. If people stop driving unless they really need to, that will dramatically reduce income for the government and the UK tourist industry 😂😂
Maybe if we all took our plates off and kept them at home they would be safe. 😁
🤣🤣🤣
Good idea . If there is an increase in the theft of number plates and there certainly seems to be around here your suggestion is a very sensible solution
Agreed. Wish everyone would do thin on ULEZ day.
Too many NPCs though.
You can easily buy legal numberplates online, without going through all the crap at a normal outlet.
My mini was seemingly seen at 2am twice in Upper Woburn place. It then was speeding in Manchester when it was in London. What to do? Saved by a parking ticket in a council multi story in Sunderland (if I remember). This had a picture! Same colour, same type, same numberplate, BUT the cloned vehicle had a towbar and go faster stripes. Manchester cancelled, private parking company reluctantly cancelled, tfl? Err.....
That is just blasphemy! who the hell has go faster stripes and a tow bar on a Mini! they are wronguns.
I get ya with TFL, they are the worst when I have had dealings with them and their appeal process is next to useless.
It is actually very easy to get number plates you can buy them on line
My plate has been cloned. I live up north and it's been hitting Bristol Ulez camera's. When reported to Police they are not interested.
Damn they're onto me 😂.
I'll never pay the charges.
A lot of car plates are held on with double sided tape these days and fall off after a heavy downpour.
Yes. Take a few minutes to fix with screws.
Ha, ha , ha . Hilarious . Although oddly my very own plates are held on with blue tac and duck tape .
Add a distinctive sticker to your car, so if they do use your cloned plates on a similar car, you can easily dispute the photographic evidence.
Sticker is no evidence...
probably best unmentioned...
They can clone the plates on my car all they like, they are not my plates.
Well if they are registered to you and they pick up fines then you’ll be the one they post the pcn to. Then you’ll have to prove your car was not in london at that time. Not so easy.

@@MookMineola Thank you, thanks for coming out 😁
At least your BMW is very rare and distinctive. It would take a real "OYK" to even consider cloning your plates....

Make sure you have something on your car that only you know about
After an accident leaving me with a damaged number plate, I ordered a new number plate online. No proof required, plates in the post two days later.
Can trace you by payment method surely
Just putting this out there..
How about a decent dashcam (front & rear) with intelligent parking mode included. Works wonders in my opinion.
Yes, good point. There is a front and rear dash cam system that works continuously, so I guess that would help. I'm not sure how much that kit is though.
@@BrownCarGuy my partners car has the Nextbase 522GW front & rear setup. So inc professional fitting. £300 in total.
Mine has the BlackVue 590X front & rear setup.
Roughly a little more in total. Both with Wi-Fi connection & intelligent parking mode inc.
If you use the largest memory cards? The 256GB card. They last ages in data collection.
If you own 2 white transit diesel vans, one is ULEZ compliant the other isn't so for you to clone plates is pretty much easier and I encourage you to do that because I hate ULEZ, since you will be responsible for any driving offences or accidents.
You can’t hide you number plate while driving down the street. So you can’t possibly stop it
Easy to purchase show plates without any of the “paper” nonsense, plus, just before the government decided to change the rules about obtaining new plates, they told everyone! This meant that those who might want to make plates for criminal activities, just needed to purchase a plate maker!
Anyone that does that, the ANPR cameras ping back that there are two vehicles pinging the database in two parts of the country both cars will be flagged and pulled . Also all legit plates will have the name of the registered place that made them up at the bottom .
That's actually interesting. A reminder this is all breaching our human rights!
Only if they get 'pinged' at the near enough same time
Can't afford to be compliant or non-compliant... thanks Sadiq 🙄
I took a photo of a car on the road two days ago with a cracked number plate that was hanging off, behind it was a different number plate. Not sure whether it's worth reporting to the police because the hidden plate isn't totally visible...what do you guys think?
I would be adding something extra to make my car more identifiable than the DVLA listing, like some kind of decals and window stickers, that way when you ask for proof photos you can say it doesn't match.
Yes, but it makes your car more identifiable when you get a parking or speeding fine.
Kinda glad I chose the car with the go faster stripes that go front to back now with this in mind lol

My car is decorated to the hilt in Canadian flags and maple leaves. Including two roof aerials with Canadian flags blowing in the breeze and much more, both front and back. So even if my plates were cloned on the same make model and colour of car, there is no way anyone else is going fo go to all those lengths to even attempt to make their car look like mine. They wouldn't even know where to find all those items. That in itself would deter anyone from even bothering to clone my plates. In the highly unlikely event they did, it would be very easy to prove it's a different car. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I am not so sure these days given how deranged some people are lol
Yeah so now they will want a black box in all cars tracked everywhere and the sheep will say yes please
This will eventually happen anyway regardless - for pay per mile and 'safety' :-(
Most of the 'sheep' will be people who've been victims of plate theft/cloning.

Do they say it was seen in the area or are they just sending to everyone?
I just received my first one, I shall be sending it back telling them to shove it up Khans arse!!!
Incidents not incidences.
The cost of ulez to the cost of defect ticket?? drive with your reg plates off, when you get pulled say" oh my gosh didn't notice, someone must had stolen them!" then get them on pay £50 to a garage or whatever they charge normally 40 in the mid's so 50 there perhaps? and then do it again. there are not enough coppers on the road to pull you and without any reg there cameras are usleess like usless ulez!
You have to have some sort of plate, even useless rainbow coppers will pull you every day otherwise.
@@tomf4547 they cannot there simply are not enough traffic cops top deal with it, and you CANNOT get a criminal conviction for it, only a fine a lot cheaper.

Blimey, the way things are going with this we will all have to have a provable alibi to prove where we were on every minute of each day! May be a distinctive sticker on the inside of the windscreen would be a good idea. To confirm the date the sticker was added take a picture of your own vehicle outside your own property which shows the date stamp. Just an idea!
you need to make your car look different put a sticker or stripe on it
Yeah but you can buy show plates.
If the number plate doesn't match the sachet number the traffic police will seize the car straight away.
Why not take your number plate off report to the police they been stolen buy some new ones and when you get a ticket you don't need to pay because you reported it as stolen
To any number plate thief I say this: you won't get away with it (even if you think you will), something will be taken from you, that's the price you pay for your thievery. You reap what you sow.
Cute. But naive.
Tell this to j.bezos or b.gates
What is Sadiq’s plate ?
Now now.....😊
Your wrong in terms of its 'not easy' to get plates made up. Their are doesns of places on ebay who will make any number you want and sell them as 'show Plates'. The look exactly the same but without the postcode etc at the bottom of the plate and a camera isnt going to spot that...
Then, ebay is breaking the law and should be prosecuted.
@@jamesan2517 But they are not breaking the law.
You just get ebay to add a postcode to bottom of plate. I've had ebay plates for 20 years, even had traffic stops. It's not an issue.
@@tomf4547 Quite right and they even pass MoTs so are perfectly legal. Why pay £40 from a DVLA authorised seller when you can get the exact same plates for less than £20 online?
