bought my e30 with a broken odo that said 140k miles after getting the carfax for it i found out it had 250k miles in 2007 hahaha. Has atleast 400k on it now with the same motor and is still going strong!
I would add one thing, the water pumps on the M20 are behind the timing belt and they are fairly inexpensive so if you replace them every other timing belt change you will save yourself from a really bad day later on.

Totally restored, full body restoration, all new trim, full engine rebuilt, new paint, 17" APEXs, 1995 M3 steering rack. Still need to fix the sport driver side seat. Drives like dream.
@@sepppe0484 I have no idea. But my M42 block is in excellent condition and they decked and squared with a good cylinder honing. All new Mahle pistons, matching rings. We re-used the connecting rods as they are forged from factory. We also used all ARP bolts for the connection rods and mains.
I currently daily a 1986 BMW 325e in Schwarz 086! It’s been the most reliable car I’ve ever driven, I love this car and plan to drive it to the damn ground!

I drive everyday E30. It make me very good filling on this velco is giving alot of goodness experience. I love to driving it everyday. ❤❤❤❤bimmer bimmer ❤❤❤
couple things to add that will almost always need replacing. Spark plug wires, ignition coil, distributor, crank position sensor, coolant temp sensor, water pump engine ground wire, intank fuel pump external fuel pump, all fuel lines, brake lines
Back in the late 80's I was a kid, and my auntie was some chick, he borrowed a e30 bmw from some sort of boyfriend, i ride with her, she just cant get it out of the parking spot. Took so long until i point at the e-brake and ask her, hey, my dad usually put this down before driving. 😂😂😂 Half a tank of gas was gone because of that, LOL....
At boot minute 5:30 cooling system fluid leaks… my 1987 325 ic sprung a sweet-smelling glycol liquid out of my heater core onto the floor. How it goes… 😊
@@TheEuroLife. Do I understand correctly that you can immediately install et25, and then there will be no problems? I think on 17 8j et25 do you think they will fit well? Are you going to put spacers on all 4 wheels or just one axle?

Timing belt advice spot on but the tensioner pulley and water pump should always be done at this time.

100% correct. I guess I forgot to add that little bit in there. And pumps are usually due about the same time as the belt itself anyway🤷♂️

had a pinhole in the rubber fuel line last summer and it freaked me out. just needed like an hour and $10-$15 worth of hose
Also manual E30s are more rare and desired than automatics so factor that into the purchase price.

How much km's are the 318 blocks good for?

@@sepppe0484 It's not the mileage but the wear, for example the maximum bore size for the M42 is 86mm (that's +2mm over stock).

M20’s are super reliable, and the b27 in yours will probably never die.

Odometer doesn’t matter, broken in most of them. If it’s in good shape and was well cared for, buy it!

There was actually a recall for this exact issue. BMW still services the E30 and would do so if you took it in.
The sunroof on my 325 ic is leaky.😮
Check the drain tubes on either side of the sunroof, they can clog and cause leaks.

Currently no spacers and the wheels fit, but clearance to caliper is tight. I’m going to be running 5mm spacers this year.
