UA-cam has recently been making big changes to the way that they handle comments, so I'm giving comments under this new system a shot. You guys let me know that you value having a community to share your thoughts with, and I'm open to finding the best way to make that work! Feel free to voice any opinions you want - just be sure to be courteous to others :). Hope you enjoy the video, I'm super excited for the Switch!
I own a Wii U, and I personally don't think it was how the console was bad. I honestly think it was to play, and it was pretty comfortable to hold. Even if other people don't like the Wii U, I love mine.
The stages of leaving the Wii U behind Stage 1: denial, you refuse to believe the Wii U is ded Stage 2: Realization, you've discovered that Nintendo have stopped making games for it Stage 3: depression, you where one of the people who liked the Wii U and hate it's death Stage 4: Acceptance, you have accepted the Wii Us fate and went on to buy a switch, now you won't stop playing Breath of the Wild
I still think Miiverse was a cool idea, given it allowed for each Virtual Console game to have an independent community and it was really fun to draw things as well. Miiverse was the kind of place where you could talk about Nintendo and not be ridiculed for it, given it was Nintendo's own community. But now, with the Switch only having Facebook and Twitter as options, many won't feel the same comfort with sharing things on the Switch as they did with the Wii U unless they are a popular streamer or something that is already accommodated to such services.
I LOVE the WiiU. I wanted it since the first word of it came out, but I was unable to get one until very recently. However, with the Switch out at this point, I got to see and try the best of both because my boyfriend got the Switch, and I the WiiU. He plays the Switch pretty much daily, while I play the WiiU pretty much daily. I will admit, the Switch is definitely fun, but I still prefer my WiiU. All in all, aside from Mario Odyssey that my boyfriend bought me for Christmas so I can play it, I wouldn't trade the WiiU for the Switch. ( no matter how many people try to convince me I should do otherwise) ❤️ the WiiU.
The Wii U gave me many hours of enjoyment and despite recently buying a Switch, I still dust off the old U for a little 3D World, Zelda HD remakes, seeing if I have any BOTW quests left etc. Heck, it's docked on my bedside table so if I want to watch Netflix in bed without using my TV=done! R.I.P. Wii U R.I.P. Miiverse (please come back!)
Man, this video is really emotional! R.I.P. Wii U! You will always be remembered! You brought me lots of joy and fun, and for that, I give to you my thanks.
To loosely quote what dunkey said: many consider the Wii U to be a failure, but then you look at its library (DCTF, Mario 3D world, wonderful 101, etc.) if that isn’t a failed console, then what would the Xbox one be
I loved my Wii U. Mario Kart was great, Star Fox co-op was pretty fun, and 9-player Runbow is still demanded at every party I have. Shame it never caught on, but I will be there day one for the Switch.
Yay! Comments are back on! I (of course) respect your decision to turn them off, but I prefer the comments being on. I don't leave comments particularly often, but it's nice to read through what others have said. Gives your channel more of a community vibe :D
Wii U. I enjoyed your company. Like smash bros. I've played that game TOO MUCH. And Splatoon. And mariokart. And all eshop games. And super mario maker. Eshop options were perfect. And amiibos. And Wii party u. UGH THE WII U WAS TOI GOOD!
Honestly, playing Splatoon with the Wii U's gyroscope controls has been one of the best experiences I've had with gaming. I genuinely loved it, and still do. I don't want to see that kind of gaming go away.
The comments are back... Thank you jwittz! You have no idea how happy I am that I can finally comment again! Coming from a subscriber who supported you for so long as well as not having Twitter and who doesn't have time to watch twitch live to comment on the steam, I am so elated and grateful! All I can say right now is THANK YOU! :)
On TV: While TVii was a dud on arrival, the TV button that resulted from it was a very handy feature. When a remote was lost or not available, it was nice to have something that could turn on the TV, control volume AND open the guide. Best of all, it could function entirely independently from the console, meaning the Wii U didn't actually have to be turned on. I give a lot of kudos to Nintendo for implementing all of that, even if the reason for its existence didn't get nearly the same amount of effort.
SonofMrPeanut dude, I used it for this exact reason. Didn't want to have to reach my remote everytime I wanted to raise the volume or switch inputs, so I just programmed it to the controller. Didn't even remember the NintendoTV was a thing...
Finalblue1234 I thought the idea of one-platform tapping into multiple streaming services was genius, and thankfully others have done a better job executing that idea.
I'll be honest, without comments and a discussion, the experience is lesser. I am very happy to see them back and hope they will stay. I honestly found myself watching less and less, since content is great, but without feedback or community it is not as fun.
Good to know I am not the only one who feels this way about the comments section. I don't care how stupid the comments section can be, just as long as it's not full of spammers, it can still be enjoyable.
I'm getting a idea: How about we grab some of the gamecube games, slap them on the SD like cards, rearrange the controls and make a portable version? A gamecube console with you at all times.
Franco Yauri I got my Wii U on day 1 and I only own 3 game for it lol bayonetta 2, xenoblade x which was the main reason I even bothered with this console and Tokyo mirage sessions which Nintendo censored into the ground for the western release :(.
azurillkirby There are plenty of us who watch tons of UA-cam videos but aren't particularly active on social media and thus don't follow content creators outside of UA-cam.
Personally I still love my Wii U and I still have so much fun playing the games with my friends. I love that fact that I could still play the games on the game pad while my dad was watching TV. I do wish Nintendo had took better advantage of the console's potential (I so wanted a Pokemon Snap 2 with this console). But all in all I still play and love my Wii U and I will not forget the joy it has given me. If this is the end, may you Rest In Peace Wii U.
I just hope the 3DS stays alive for a few more years. I mean, you cant just revamp the handheld just to quickly discontinue titles on it. And not many people can afford new consoles and such.
Come on, man. The 3DS will be six years old when the Switch launches. That's enough already. I'll gladly accept the Switch as the 3DS successor because honestly it has been enough of the 3DS.
But the 3DS still has so much potential. Nintendo will be swimming in their scrooge mc'duck pool of gold after the switch launches. They could you even if just a tiny fraction of their earnings to keep the 3DS alive. At least keep the N3DS alive, seeing as it's supposed to be able to play heavier games and such. It's really recent, and it wouldn't be very fair to discard it after so many people just bought it. I just reeeaaally don't wanna have to get a switch just to keep being able to play Nintendo games. I don't mind ports.
Joshua Adams Not so much as a replacement, than an "upgrade". I mean, yeah, it plays games at higher framerates, but you can still play all the recent games on the old 3ds, which I've found no issue with.
TheJWittz, If you're reading this, please keep comments on. Thanks, A fan since your TCG days. P.S. Please bring back Hoppip to more of your videos. I miss the little guy.
2:59 The TV button was a remote, not for Nintendo TVii. The remote was actually really useful, making it so that you didn't have to pick up your TV remote before picking up your Gamepad. 3:57: That idea actually was used, in Wii Sports Club: Golf. It seemed like you implied that it was never used, though I guess I could be wrong.
That "TV" button is to use the game pad as a TV controller... not the NintendoTV app... that on was an icon on the Wii U menu but it was removed after the discontinuation of NintendoTV.
Gerardson I remember waiting for Nintendo TV. I always started it up and it would say it will be available soon. AND THEN IT HAPPENED TO BE THAT IT DIDN'T COME TO THE UK!
I just realized...comments are enabled! Anyway, I'll miss the Wii U. It had some great games, but I'm excited to see what the Switch will bring to the table.

TheJWittz why were they disabled?
Everyone: We will always remember the WiiU.
WiiU: Stop telling people I'm dead
Everyone: Sometimes I can still hear it's voice.
Rest in Peace WiiU. I never got you but I will still remember you.
I own a Wii U, and I personally don't think it was how the console was bad. I honestly think it was to play, and it was pretty comfortable to hold. Even if other people don't like the Wii U, I love mine.
boxfry I agree! I really liked the Wii U for virtual console, but the main problem I had was always having to change the dang Pad all the time lol
I just liked it for the few games I have for virtual console and Pikmin 3
That’s about it
Still keep on using it and like to have it

The Wii U is my favorite Nintendo console of all time. Rest In Peace, Wii U, you will always be remembered.
I love how you used the End Credits from Super Mario 64. Nice touch.

I am glad the comments are back!
Even though some comments are definitely trash, I think conversation is much better than silence.

I loved my Wii U. Mario Kart was great, Star Fox co-op was pretty fun, and 9-player Runbow is still demanded at every party I have. Shame it never caught on, but I will be there day one for the Switch.

R.I.P Wii U, i'll miss the game i played with U... NOW (push the Wii on the floor) I NEED ROOM FOR THE SWITCH
Step aside Dreamcast, there's a new underrated console that should've gotten more attention in town!
This song makes me tear up omg
I'm actually going to miss the Wii U. It was a rough ride at times, but I have a bunch of great memories from it.
Comments are back? Finally, Nintendo fans can ACTUALLY unite.
Wow, the comments aren't disabled on this video?
i personally love the wii u and its actually one of my favorite consoles. and I enjoyed lots of the games that are wii u exclusives.
I bought one a couple of months back. So many cheap yet brilliant games available for it.
Wii U. I enjoyed your company. Like smash bros.
I've played that game TOO MUCH. And Splatoon. And mariokart. And all eshop games. And super mario maker. Eshop options were perfect. And amiibos. And Wii party u. UGH THE WII U WAS TOI GOOD!
R.I.P. WiiU, Wii will love U.
Even though we will Switch to the Nintendo Switch, Wii will always remember U.
Wii u is the best
R.I.P Wii U, the most under rated system.
:*(
Honestly, playing Splatoon with the Wii U's gyroscope controls has been one of the best experiences I've had with gaming. I genuinely loved it, and still do. I don't want to see that kind of gaming go away.
R.I.P. Exenoblade robot skells.
finally I can read the comments after finishing a video rather than feel horribly depressed when I scroll down and see "comments are disabled"

The Diamond Pig same lol
I miss the days when I could comment on Jwittz's channel...oh wait...
I wonder why he's allowing this again. Either way it's pretty rad! :D
I think the wii u will be remembered like the gamecube, a great console that didn't sell that well with few, but great titles
On TV: While TVii was a dud on arrival, the TV button that resulted from it was a very handy feature. Jwittz, I've been watching you for the longest time. And I have to say, you've brought me so much joy. And I thank you for that, my friend.
But i always use the TV button when i couldn't find the remote
I'm getting a idea: How about we grab some of the gamecube games, slap them on the SD like cards, rearrange the controls and make a portable version?
A gamecube console with you at all times.
I still play my wii u even though I have a switch

Wii U isn't truly dead. It still has amazing games!
Franco Yauri I got my Wii U on day 1 and I only own 3 game for it lol bayonetta 2, xenoblade x which was the main reason I even bothered with this console and Tokyo mirage sessions which Nintendo censored into the ground for the western release :(.
time for the homebrew community to step up its game for the Wii u.
To be honest. I actually enjoy gaming on the Wii U. Great titles like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. For Wii U are one of them.
Yay the only actually used form of communication between youtubers and fans on youtube is back!
Literally no other way. Not like Twitter exists. Or Twitch. Or Facebook.

The Wii U is like a level 100 Magikarp. It's awesome when it can do something, but then you realize it's a Magikarp.
Best comparison ever.

Its 2018... still playing the wii u. Along with the PS4.
The comments are enabled; praise JWittz!
the TV button isn't for TVii, it's just a TV remote button, it's actually really useful.
Graham Merph lol I use my game pad as a tv remote now
God I am so happy that the comments are back, at least for a little while
...and then there's me playing on my new Wii U that I bought a couple of weeks ago...
AquaAggron same 😅
Agreed. Now that it's discontinued, it's actually a perfect time for me to go try it, since the prices will be going nothing but down.
I just purchased a Wii U today for competitive Smash 4
I WILL NEVER FORGET THE WII U. SMASH 4 WAS THE GREATEST GAME IF ALL TIME! YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A PLACE IN MY HEART.
What? Comments allowed, Wittz, please keep it this way we like you.

Your own jokes, maybe next time.
LTZ Xenim
That's the worst joke I've ever heard
I'm still keeping my Wii U set up even when the Switch comes out. Still some great games to be played like Mario Maker, Xenoblade, Smash, Zelda's.
Hey the comments are back thanks jwittz
Even though Wii U is dead, I will buy it anyway.
Personally I still love my Wii U and I still have so much fun playing the games with my friends. I love that fact that I could still play the games on the game pad while my dad was watching TV. Well I guess nobody realises that the 3ds was replaced more than 3 years ago by the new 3ds
Joshua Adams
Not so much as a replacement, than an "upgrade".
I mean, yeah, it plays games at higher framerates, but you can still play all the recent games on the old 3ds, which I've found no issue with.
TheJWittz, If you're reading this, please keep comments on.
Thanks,

R.i.p Wii U I had so many good memory's :c
Pleas keep the coments we all waited for it for so long!
When he talks about how nobody used the tv remote button..... I do all the time, mainly cause I use my remote, but still.

Election Day 2016. The day JWittz gave us comments back!
Thanks to expanded UA-cam comment features, he doesn't have to lock off comments altogether anymore.

I still love the Wii U
TIEMEN LOL You're right
The Wii U has had some of my favorite games Nintendo has ever made.
I always use the TV button to turn my TV on/off and switch inputs
why does everybody say nobody uses the tv feature? I never needed to pause to get the remote. I didn't even need a remote. I have one on the gamepad
RIP Wii U (Nov. 2012 - Mar. 3 2017)
So bad that we don't even remember when it launched exactly.
