+Dank Frank Sonic Boom: Rise of Cory in the House was better. Got me to finally buy a Wii U AND a 3DS just so I could have the exclusives for both versions.
1) Hardline your Wii U 2) Have internet that doesn't suck If you do that then you should almost never see that message. I very rarely have issues with Splatoon.
You made my whole year jwittz :)! Why? Cause its my biggest pet peeve that people mix up crocheting and knitting, and to hear you say crochet hook made me have this warm fuzzy feeling that makes me feel good about myself. THANK YOU!
***** I don't think this year was lacking, per say. I think it would have been much better with Zelda and Star Fox, but over all, it was a very good year for Nintendo. I honestly think Splatoon alone has helped Nintendo tremendously.
+Aquablast64 Nah, I love Nintendo. But one of the things they have to improve on is world wide releases. We all over the world should be able to play games at the same date (or very close near the same date). Europe (where I am from) having to wait for so long Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is kind of unfair, but North America having to wait for Yoshi's Wooly World for so long is also kind of unfair. All of this could be solved with worldwide release dates. (And I know that localization might be a issue, but Nintendo has proven they can do it with Pokemon XY.)
+Aquablast64 Yeah we have Mario and Luigi Paper Jam here as well, but we don't have Yo-Kai-Watch I really wish they would be more consistent with global releases
Let's hope the nx avenges the wii u and throws away the wii name I would say throw away motion controls entirely but splatoon is the best game on the wii u and uses it and we're all looking for a splat2n on the nx.
TheGhostgodzilla Well I would argue OPM is an instant classic, but that's beside the point. Crunchyroll doesn't offer OPM and that was the point I was trying to make.
I'm happy to have been with this channel for so long, I grew up with Nintendo and I have always loved it. I can't wait see what there is to come in 2016 from Nintendo and from this channel :D
I just got Splatoon for Christmas, and in a matter of three days, I had already clocked over 30 hours into it. It is just about the most addicting, and charming game I've played in a really long time.
trust me, I highly doubt that they're done producing nostalgia driven money makers. I love Earthbound and I am predicting an Earthbound Remake or a new Mother series game. Something after Mother 3 perhaps
+H.Mal.X. .X.ice.H Chrono Trigger already has a sequel, as well as Earthbound, so i think that the right thing to say would be "I honestly just want a Mother 3 or Chrono Cross sequel that doesn't suck"
H.Mal.X. .X.ice.H It wasn't that bad, yeah, it wasn't at the same level than the previous game, but what do you expect, CT really changed the way that people looked at JRPG, so it's hard to top that (besides, the 3d made it lose it's charm)
If you played any of the Explorers game all the way through then don't raise your expectations above that. The game's story is 60% as good as Explorers. Best of luck!
It's definitely as hard as them but this new Emera looplet mechanic can make things 2 times easier. You can get one shotted easily in the mid dungeons but chances of finding reviver seeds are extremely high. You find this item called "Tiny reviver seed" a ton in dungeons it has the same effect as normal reviver seeds it just doesn't restore back pp and hunger. You find that seed a lot. A;though my main gripe with the combat system is just pressing the a button to do that neutral attack. It got nerfed a fuck load and that makes me mad since it forces you do moves all the time and pokemon in dungeons cannot be one shotted like they could in past iterations. You need to bring a lot more elixirs then you normally would. Dungeons are also shorted not going past 15 throughout all the story dungeons but in exchange they make dungeon layouts as complicated and big as like Explorers and Rescue Team end dungeons. This applies right at the beginning of the game so you don't really get smoothed into the big dungeons you hop right into it. I don't like that at all tbh.
im so glad you put youkai watch is on the list. with everyone ripping it a new one for being "a pokemon clone" when it was first announced, it's nice to know one of the big pokemon youtubers i follow enjoyed my favorite game of the year
I'm very happy with the Wii U lineup this year. X, Splatoon, Neo and Mario Maker were some of the best games the system's gotten period, and they really help to show that the Wii U's not just about Smersh.
Hey Jwittz! Do a Q&A! And if you do, why don't you do ANYTHING with your gaming channel any more? And I know about your twitch but wouldn't it help to upload your streams to UA-cam?
I got Splatoon during Black Friday through the Splat Smash bundle set and dear lord I'm just...hooked. It's almost become part of my daily routine: Eat, take care of puppy, check messages, get some rounds in on Splatoon. I can't play regular shooters because first person screws me up along with other things but Splatoon made it so simple and so easy to just pick up and play. You have to worry about your ink yeah but no having to worry about "Oh no, I ran out of ammo or guns". Also, no voice chat with people mocking your ability to play. Very nice (this is coming from somebody though who yells at the screen when people are just standing doing nothing or being stupid).
When I saw Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker up there, my face lit up. When you said "No remakes", my heart dropped. When you said, "Super Mystery Dungeon's story is lighter and slower then in older games", I questioned whether I should buy it. Still, LOVE the list.
I honestly wasn't expecting Super Mystery Dungeon to get any attention in this vid and legit yelled "YES" when it did. It was easily the best game of the year for me... granted I don't have a Wii U to have attempted many of its titles you mentioned.
Is the mystery weapon at 14:54 a weapon that was going to be in the game? Was it cut? It's a charger, but it looks like a scope version? New weapon confirmed?!
At this point in the game the plot of Xenoblade X feels like Beast Wars. -Space battle -Ship falls appart -the probes containing the members of the crew get scatter around the planet -Most of the all person from the probes has somekind of amnesia/stasis memory loss -They land in to a mistery planet. Etc.
I would like to point out that Stella Glow is a 2015 Nintendo 3DS exclusive that didn't get nearly enough publicity. It is a great Tactical RPG that was apparently made by the same people that made the Luminous Arc series.
You got great taste in games! I agree with mostly everything! My little brother and I will definitely buy some of the games you mentioned, they are the games we really are interested in. Thanks!
I think Codename Steam deserves more love. It's a brilliant strategy game that I just adore. And with the amiibo integration, I'm hoping they do something for the Roy and Corrin amiibo when they come out.
Yes, thank you for mentioning all of my top 5 favorite games (besides Xenoblade Chronicles 3D) 4. Yoshi's Wooly World 3. Super Mario Maker 2. Xenoblade Chronicles X 1. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon The reason I put PSMD at the very top, was because I was waiting for this kind of game to come around for nearly a year, and boy did it deliver. I haven't had so many feels for an ending in a long time. Sure the story felt a bit linear, and the dungeons are much harder than in the previous games, but hey, at least I got to have Riolu as a starter option whom would later become my all time favorite Pokemon. So yeah I really enjoyed this game.
Hey, I am a long time Mystery Dungeon fan and I would actually have to say that the story was one of the most impressive features in the new game. Yes, it is A LOT more childish then say Explorers of T/D/S, but to me, that helps to make it feel all the more real, with each character reacting as they probably would. And I love the transition of where you start, to where you end up. It gave me a greater sense of adventure and achievement, like I was really there. Also, don't tell me you didn't find the ending amazing. When those credits rolled, I legitimately shed a tear, AND I NEVER DO THAT! And then the epilogue! The story to me was a lot like Regigigas, the slow start might make you question if it was worth your money, but when it picks up, it is sure to leave a mark. P.S. What about Smash?
also for Splatoon, if you could tear yourself away from the addicting online mode for long enough to find all the Sunken Scroll easter eggs you get to learn about the game's dark lore and secrets.
Son wanted Splatoon so bad awhile back, I was underwhelmed by the video and marketing generally. Eventually got the game and was just blown away by the sheer fun of it, but also the polish. Granted, I am a latecomer to Splatoon, seeing a more finished product, but man, if there was ever a game that justifies a console purchase, this is THE ONE for WiiU
"That gold standard of Darkness, Time, and sky" Well, I don't see how you can hold anything up to those. Those games have the best plot of any child game ever. It's actually my favorite plot of any medium
I just ordered a Wii U last saturday, and I can't wait to play it! I think with my leftover cash, I'll order Splatoon probably, can't afford every single game so I'll pick the one that seems the most fun to play.
I was really hoping that, in a Nintendo year as slow as this one, Little Battlers eXperience might've actually gotten noticed, but I guess that was too much to ask. Man, we are NOT gonna get that sequel localised...
+TaleOfTheToaster I know how you feel, man. I also wish LBX would get the attention it deserved. Still, I'm confident that the sequel will get localized. Mostly because the anime of LBX W has already started airing in america. So if they localized the anime, they will probably do the same for the game. Stay hopeful, buddy.
Jwittz, in my opinion, My #1 favorite in the world would by Mario Bros 3 for the Super Nintendo! You can never get old of the hidden secret items, magic flutes, and fighting in 8 unique world's, with a fight with the koopalings at the end at each world! For those who haven't played it, you should
Sad to hear that TheJWittz wasn't a fan of the team that goes by Codename S.T.E.A.M. I absolutely love the strategies that you have to think about in order to have success in this game. This game also has my vote for one of the games that is best enhanced with Amiibos. Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina add a whole new level of team customization to the game and if you treat Codename STEAM like a Fire Emblem game and try to not let anyone fall in combat, the difficulty is insane, especially if you go with the highest challenge mode settings. I would be really curious to learn what your problems were with the game because once the update came out, the long enemy turn times became a non-issue for me. For me, Codename Steam is my 3rd favorite Nintendo game of the year behind Super Mario Maker and Splatoon.
Mine are 5. Mario Party 10 4. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon/Rumble World (tie) 3. Super Mario Maker 2. Yoshi's Woolly World 1. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Whelp I'm still getting though Triforce Heroes, and as a Zelda fan I find it fun. It gets most frustrating if someone wanted an item you took and they kill themselves (and thus everyone else) because of it!
My game of the year is Super Mystery Dungeon, for sure. A coming of age story where the story elements age with the characters, all culminating in some of the best twists in the series? Yes. All of my yes.
Is it just me or are the "S" really sharp in this video? They hurt just a little bit. Might want to look into that :) Great video though. Like the footage showing on screen, overall editing, music used in the background and voice-over.
*Slams fist on table* I'm so glad that you mentioned Yo-kai Watch! I'm 12 hours in and it's a ton of fun. I have to agree that it doesn't play like Pokemon at all- if anything the bribing with food and the 3 v 3 battles (excluding the exciting fact that rotating all 6 of your Yo-kai around is an active part of the battle system) reminds me of Dragon Warrior Monsters. Also, it reminds me of Animal Crossing in the sense that in both games I've found myself saying "I'll spend about 20 minutes playing right now" and then 2-3 hours will pass. Not that that hasn't happened with other games... but with Animal Crossing and Yo-kai Watch after those 2-3 hours I'll have still not completed the original task I set out to do because I got distracted by some self-appointed side quest (catching bugs/fish, collecting things, talking to people in hopes of getting little missions to do... that applies to both games!).
My major problem with XCX so far is the fact that I have yet to find a way to revive fallen comrades in battle. In Xenoblade Chronicles, Shulk has the ability to spend one bar of his chain attack gauge to revive an ally; Cross doesn't... of if he does, I didn't get it yet... This is extremely annoying when you're trekking in a region where the monsters you're encountering are high-level among monsters that are low-level.
1. Super Mario Maker2. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes3. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D4. Pokken Tournament5. Splatoon6. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse7. Yoshi's Wooly World8. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon9. Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer10. Yo-Kai Watch
for me IMO num 1 is Pokemon SMD and 2 is Mario maker haha just got to be they're such fantastic games but still great video and happy new year everyone
This was a pretty slow year for both the PS4 and Wii U, but both got awesome games especially the latter. The 3DS meanwhile is really going strong, especially impressive due to the smartphone fad going on.
But jwittz that's the point of monster hunter, by battling the monster many times, you get better as a hunter, you learn new techniques, you learn all about the monster's attack patterns and abilities, you don't get better because you fought monsters and gained levels. It's because you went out and learned the attacks, became a better hunter, and did the work to get better gear. That's why monster hunter is so cool

Good list but I am disappointed that Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric wasn't on the list. Overall: 1337 out of 69. Too much water.
Wtf

Same
+Ronda Wilson I would use a potato but I ate it.
+Dank Frank that must have been one good potato
1) Hardline your Wii U
2) Have internet that doesn't suck
If you do that then you should almost never see that message. I very rarely have issues with Splatoon.
do you live in a motel 8
You made my whole year jwittz :)! Why? Cause its my biggest pet peeve that people mix up crocheting and knitting, and to hear you say crochet hook made me have this warm fuzzy feeling that makes me feel good about myself. THANK YOU!

That's awesome.

Really looking forward to Super Mystery Dungeon, but it won't be available in the UK for like, at least 2 months.
Bleeegh, laaame
+Charm Yeah. Missing the Christmas market will do it in for European sales.
Same as Australia -_-
+Charm You guys did get Yoshi Wooly World several months before the US did, so it is only fair. :P
+Aquablast64 Nah, I love Nintendo. But one of the things they have to improve on is world wide releases. I didnt think there was 10 even released this year
xD
+saminabox there was exactly 11 wii u games released this year
Sam Klug dead on arrival
Let's hope the nx avenges the wii u and throws away the wii name I would say throw away motion controls entirely but splatoon is the best game on the wii u and uses it and we're all looking for a splat2n on the nx.
#1 is gonna be Animal Crossing Amiboo Festival
NOOOOO
+SimplebutAwesome (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
;_;
+WBS Animal Crossing Weaboo Festival
+WBS animal crossing snooze festival
16:16 and most notably, not One Punch Man.
well, he said classic.
TheGhostgodzilla Well I would argue OPM is an instant classic, but that's beside the point. Crunchyroll doesn't offer OPM and that was the point I was trying to make.
+Protagonist Oh I agree with you OPM is amazing! Maybe they couldn't get the rights?
TheGhostgodzilla Seems like it.
It does have Osomatsu-san though.
Calling it now, Fire Emblem will be back on top at the end of 2016
W for profile picture
+The Omni Blade can't wait! February can't get here fast enough.
+The Omni Blade I have never played a FE game but I am buying it cause I got amiibo and i have heard a ton about it.
+Logan S you should try out awakening, it's a fantastic game and has a mode for more casual players if it suits you.
+Bryce M. So pumped for Fates!

What a good year for Nintendo.
Happy New Year Jwittz
I can tell the Witcher 3 is gonna be #1.
+CrissAngel115 when you see a joke, just laugh, like, and move on, but do not be a fucking buzz kill.
Even if it wasn't Nintendo, witcher 3 was by far not the best game of the year, even though being game of the year
+CrissAngel115 He was joking.
a real game on a Nintendo console? pfft nah
+darkmanknight1 Then what surpassed it? Mgs or Fallout? Not at all.

Minecraft Wii U has to be #1 or I'm unsubbing
EDIT: It was just a prank guys
Unsubbed
I wish UA-cam could make a feature where I can unplug someone's internet router for making a dumb comment.
Being a big Minecraft fan, I have to admit: mc Wii U is terrible.
+Sans The same game but just on the Wii U? He doesn't care if one person who doesn't know what opinions are unsubbed. Sorry if you are just joking.
+Sans the Wii U version arrived a year late and missed a ton of opportunities. no gamepad inventory management was a real killer
Yo-Kai Watch and SteamWorld Heist are on here? I KNEW IT!! I LOVE THOSE GAMES!!
(Splatoon at No.1 was a surprise)
Your lists are so great and detailed!
yay splatoon is number one!!
Thanks for the spoiler (even though I knew it was coming)
+Dr. Farewell dont read the comments until you finish the video...
+Andrew Prep Thanks for the tip Obama
What, no Amiibo Festival?!
+Cole Kahwaty Mario Tennis Ultra Smash was so much better 10/10 on Ultra Smash! LOL
+Sam Klug the joke

My GOTY from all developers was Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. I LOVE the story. It was definitely on par with EoT/D/S
Happy New Year to you, JEEESH!
No 5) Wish we had that in the UK right now
No 1) Wis my parents would let me get it but apparently its "too violent"

Weird.
Tanner Mcclune Yep but hey,
Parents, cant live with them, Cant live without them.
+Samuel Turner It's the equivalent of shooting water guns. Your parents are too sensitive.
2015, and still no new pokemon game
+DeEwouterKabouter Quality takes time.
+DeEwouterKabouter sure there is ya know mystery dungeon ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?
+DeEwouterKabouter Super mystery dungeon? lol
Ther was one last year, and they said there wasn't going to be one this year, what did you expect?
what has this world come to!?
Sorry, but I hate Splatoon, only because I keep getting disconnected online. I have never, ever, had a full online game of Splatoon :'(
You have really bad wifi then
Harry Marks
I know. I really need to get it fixed.
I feel ur pain fren :[ I can play most games fine but splatoon never works for me
andrepokemaster1456
God dammit Australian internet!
Why hate a game because you run on Motel 8 level internet?
im so glad you put youkai watch is on the list. with everyone ripping it a new one for being "a pokemon clone" when it was first announced, it's nice to know one of the big pokemon youtubers i follow enjoyed my favorite game of the year
ProJared loves his Monster Hunter. Hearing him rant about how it was beaten by Tomb Raider Go for Mobile/Handheld GOTY on TB's podcast was beautiful.
My favorite game this year is either MH4U, or PSMD. However, MH4U isn't a nintendo game, soooo.... yea.
But it's a Nintendo exclusive.
+James McDaid (Ampharos) On a Nintendo console only. Not a Nintendo game. Makes sense.
AJfromMillay Eldritch Pikmin You guys are clueless. I JUST SAID THAT AT THE END OF THE COMMENT!
James McDaid No you didn't. You said it's not a Nintendo game. We're trying to tell you why it is. LOL
AJfromMillay But it's NOT a nintendo game. It's made by Capcom. Capcom is not Nintendo. Minecraft is on the Wii U, does that make it a Nintendo game?
Anybody else here without 3DS and WiiU
I'm very happy with the Wii U lineup this year. X, Splatoon, Neo and Mario Maker were some of the best games the system's gotten period, and they really help to show that the Wii U's not just about Smersh.

I've got soo many faves!
I think I'm going to make a 2015 faves for my youtube too this video inspired me!
Steam world hiest was a game I've been looking forward to for the ENTIRE YEAR it's so worth it even if you're not too into strategy games.
When I saw Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker up there, my face lit up. When you said "No remakes", my heart dropped. When you said, "Super Mystery Dungeon's story is lighter and slower then in older games", I questioned whether I should buy it. Still, LOVE the list.
I have nothing clever to say so
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
+Andrew Firth What will it be called? Subs and specials? Charge speed? Range? So many Questions!
I know that but it's it the weapon!
If you mean 11:54 it's a ballista
how did I get here from watching Steven universe??? oh well, I still enjoyed the video! Happy new year JWittz!
I liked how you didn't spoil the story of Pokémon Super Mystery dungeon, as we in Europe sadly don't have it yet.
At this point in the game the plot of Xenoblade X feels like Beast Wars.
-Space battle
-Ship falls appart
-the probes containing the members of the crew get scatter around the planet

Yes, thank you for mentioning all of my top 5 favorite games (besides Xenoblade Chronicles 3D)
4. Yoshi's Wooly World
3. Super Mario Maker
2. Xenoblade Chronicles X
1. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
The reason I put PSMD at the very top, was because I was waiting for this kind of game to come around for nearly a year, and boy did it deliver. I haven't had so many feels for an ending in a long time. Sure the story felt a bit linear, and the dungeons are much harder than in the previous games, but hey, at least I got to have Riolu as a starter option whom would later become my all time favorite Pokemon. So yeah I really enjoyed this game.
I waited all year for this.
I really like Splatoon too, despite the difficulty I've been having lately with it. I hope they make a sequel to it when the NX comes out.
Super happy to see steam word heist here, that game has an amazing soundtrack!
C'mon, no love for Amiibo Festival? That was like, _the_ highlight of 2015!!
Happy new year.
Why was the SMB Overworld theme playing throughout the video, including the Crunchyroll ad at the beginning?
Why does everyone ignore Fatal Frame 5? It simply doesn't exist for nintendo's fan and is without a doubt one of the best 2015 Wii U games :(
Jwittz + Crunchyroll = Awesome Combo
also for Splatoon, if you could tear yourself away from the addicting online mode for long enough to find all the Sunken Scroll easter eggs you get to learn about the game's dark lore and secrets.
happy new year!
I loved the list, I agree with all of it. However, what I love more is that almost every time I see a crunchy roll add read I see RWBY.
Happy new year jwittz I CANT WAIT FOR POKEMON Z
"That gold standard of Darkness, Time, and sky"
Well, I don't see how you can hold anything up to those. Those games have the best plot of any child game ever. It's actually my favorite plot of any medium
Thank you for the full disclosure of... your incinerated squeaky chair :P
Every time he is sponsored by Crunchyroll I imagine Arin popping out of nowhere and aggressively trying to market it to me.
It was only a slow year if you have ADD.
Mr table
Is that so? I have seen localised LBX W manga here in England, so positive signs!
Happy New Year! great video, and awesome top 10! YAY SPLATOON #1! = D
>triforce heroes in a top 10 list
Damn. Nintendo's year was really bad wasn't it?
+Unshaved Malevolence Well I thought it was fun.
BlueShroom46 So you didn't think it was good.
Just fun.
+Unshaved Malevolence all he said was that he thought it was fun, holy shit...
Considering that video games are meant to be fun, a fun game is a good game.
+Unshaved Malevolence
have you played it locally?
Jwittz, in my opinion, My #1 favorite in the world would by Mario Bros 3 for the Super Nintendo! You can never get old of the hidden secret items, magic flutes, and fighting in 8 unique world's, with a fight with the koopalings at the end at each world! For those who haven't played it, you should
YEAH SPLATOON! My favorite game of 2015. Can't stop playing it!!
Happy new year🎆🎉🎇🎊
Sad to hear that TheJWittz wasn't a fan of the team that goes by Codename S.T.E.A.M.
Mine are
5. Mario Party 10
4. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon/Rumble World (tie)
3. Super Mario Maker
2. Yoshi's Woolly World
HAPPY NEW YEARZZZZZZ
Is it just me or are the "S" really sharp in this video? They hurt just a little bit. Might want to look into that :)
Great video though. Like the footage showing on screen, overall editing, music used in the background and voice-over.
Splatoon is just Jet Set Radio and TF2 combined. PERFECT!
Super Mystery Dungeon still isn't out in Australia yet :( My heart feels empty this Christmas...
My top 3 Amiibo festival (loces that game, fun tonolay with friends) - Splatoon - Super Mistery Dungeon
Yo-Kai Watch
one of my favourites this year was mario and luigi paper jam.
for me IMO num 1 is Pokemon SMD and 2 is Mario maker haha just got to be they're such fantastic games but still great video and happy new year everyone
Have you tried Stella Glow from Atlus? it was a 3DS exclusive SRPG That launched in November. it was my personal favorite 3DS Game this year
