- The term “capsule computers” may not mean much to you, but it led to one of gaming’s most enduring and beloved developers. That’s the term from which Capcom took its name in 1979, after all, and it’s what the company called its earliest arcade machines. It wasn’t until 1983 that the company actually started developing video games, debuting with Vulgus. It wasn’t half bad, and its visuals wouldn’t be out of place in a throwback indie shooter today, but it gave little indication of just how many of the industry’s biggest franchises the company would introduce to the world. Today, we’re taking a look at them all, from Ace Attorney to Viewtiful Joe. Here's Every Capcom Franchise Ranked from WORST To BEST.

A lot of these ratings show how series fatigue is such a big factor in enjoyment of a game. In hindsight Mega Man Battle Network 6 is considered one of the best of the series by fans and still has a sizable competitive multiplayer community. It got worse ratings than Mega Man Battle Network 4 which is considered a rushed mess with endless backtracking, hundreds of translation errors, and a subpar postgame that requires you to beat the game from start to finish 3 times in a row just to access.
MMBN was a good example of reimagining a franchise, it modernized the story but kept it's heart by not forgetting what it was.
Only ever played 3 (forget which one) and blue moon. Loved both of em.
The second MMBN game was the first one I played, and I immediately fell in love. I tried Star Force, but I didn't really enjoy the perspective swap. I wish they would bring back the MMBN series one of these days, it was fantastic.

Megaman fans literally surviving on copium alone, especially considering their last three mainline Megaman games have just been absolute smelly stinkers.
Man so many great classics came out of Capcom, definitely an all time favorite!
Who cares what the haters including Keiji Inafune think about Capcom? Despite being treated like “Crapcom” by these ungrateful haters (I know Capcom can have its problems, but then again, so can any video game company, even their precious Nintendo and Sega) least WE never gave up on the company!
@@kieranstark7213 Capcom was in a rough spot in the early 2010s, but they've been killing it lately.
Monster Hunter in 2010 was some obscure game that I couldn't convince anyone to play because they thought it was some shovelware crap. There was only one time I found a real person who was like "Yes. I've heard of Monster Hunter". But he was confusing it with "Fossil Fighters". It's good to see that it's now as beloved here as it's always been in Japan.
this. i remember falling in love with tri and wishing that EVERYONE would play this marvelous game, but it was tough to get people into it. when i saw the trailer for monster hunter world i was like "its.. happening O.O"
Capcom needs to remaster a lot of these franchises.

Capcom has a HUGE game library up there with Nintendo's. Capcom really needs to make their own version of Game Pass.
Yes, and this is an advantage in itself. Instead of being confused about making a new game, they can continue their legendary game with mixed mechanics from the entire franchise. I wish bof and megaman legends will revive 😭🤧

I really want them to bring back Gargoyles Quest. I really love that series and it's a shame its been dead for so long.
unfortunately Capcom decided that not enough people were into the Gargoyles Quest franchise to warrant a resurrection like good old GnG got. but then again, who knows... 2D is regaining momentum which will allow certain genres and franchises to revitalize, maybe GQ will be one of those franchises, only time will tell.

Having watched this vid and looking back on all of my favorite games growing up, I've realized that Capcom was responsible for developing a large majority of my favorite games. MegaMan, Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, the list goes on.

The effort put into these lists alone is just incredible. I watch each multiple times and once I’ve seen them several times I use them to fall asleep to. Not because they’re boring I just enjoy your voices and they’re weirdly comforting to listen to. I struggle with sleep so it’s genuinely super helpful. All your other lists, worst games ever etc series are fantastic too. I’ve been here pretty much since you split from WC (which I Unsubbed from when I heard about how they treated a number of my favorite presenters) and I look forward to everything you do and hope for nothing but success for everyone involved.
Nothing weird about that. For some variety I can suggest You Can Beat Video Games and Ryukahr for similarly relaxing videos to fall asleep too, but are also a lot of fun.
this list reminds me that Megaman Legends never got it's 3rd game, i mean Tron Bonne kind of worked as a 3rd entry, but it wasnt the 3rd game that we all wanted. 💔

...my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
I need an online remaster for Power Stone and Power Stone 2.
As well as no Power Stone, I was surprised to see no pocket fighter, and no puzzle fighter. The hours I burnt on puzzle fighter was insane.
I will forever love and praise Project X Zone for introducing me to so many fantastic franchises I never would have tried and also for being the greatest fanfare game ever, filled to the brim with references and comedy from all kinds of characters coming together for flashy combat. The spritework is absolutely beautiful, the animations pull directly from source material as a beautiful love letter to each and every game represented, and the music selection of remixed classics from all of these games makes the game a fantastic treat, even if the story is only good enough to facilitate all of the fanservice.

Wow. Ace Attorney 7th. I’m not disappointed, more surprised that a game which is effectively point, click and read is so highly rated.
I am a fan of these games, so I am happy to see it there.

Outbreak is probably a close second simply for being too ahead of its time and not having online multiplayer in the PAL version.

Monster Hunter is hands down the best capcom franchise... probably the best game franchise period. So much content, so much depths, its a veritable culture. It is tellingly the best selling in Capcom's lineup.

SNK card fighters is amazing! I loved that game growing up.
I was gobsmacked when BOF was so low because BOF 3 and 4 were my jam, but then you reminded me of the last one with the microtransaction bullshit and it all made sense.
I loved Gargoyles Quest for Gameboy. That thing was impossible to see in the dark, but I loved it. I had the stupid official clip-on light. We had nickel-cadmium batteries and they drained fast.

Capcom is one of my favorite gaming companies.
Goddamn Capcom is one of the best developers of all time... right up there with old Konami.
I grew up with their franchises and I've got fond memories of smashing NES controllers playing Mega Man 2 and Commando.
Another company I would include in that legendary list was Namco.
Tekken, Soul Calibur, Ridge Racer, Mappy, Dig Dug, Pac Man, Ace Combat just to name a few.

I've never read the novel versions, so can't comment on them. But, if you think about it, the later entries of Resident Evil have a lot in common with the 1997 film, The Relic.

An anthropologist steals sacred leaves from a hidden South American village, covered in virus ridden fungi, capable of rewriting DNA and turning people and creatures that eat it into monsters, sends it to the city, where carnage ensues within the restricted boundaries of the museum.

Mmm. One company I'm kind of curious about for some reason is Bandai Namco (Pac Man, Souls series, Tales of series)! Maybe if you guys ever run out of popular series. I know Bandai Namco may not be as well known or high up on the list comparatively to other things.

Gargoyles quest was one of the best games I'd ever played in my life. It's basically a metroidvania game with a JRPGwhen you aren't fighting

Sengoku basara. The "Saints Row" to Dynasty/Samurai Warriors' "Grand Theft Auto". In that it took what the original did, turned it to 11, remembered it's supposed to be fun and then lost the damn plot.

So quick question since i believe starforce is also a cartoon like battle network(game)/NT Warrior(show). I love the NT warrior/battle network series but never got around to seeing or play starforce. Is it a different series(not linked to nt warrior/battle network) with different characters and all except megaman and co?
Also I kinda like the idea of 2 versions but mainly cause I also like pokemon. All though I always went with the 3rd versions during the early years of pokemon with yellow being the first pokemon game that got me into the series I kinda wish they would bring back the 3rd versions but as of know that is only a pipe dream unfortunately
Capcom has always had their sh#t together. They are one of the most consistent gaming companies ever. They're the gaming king of sequels and rehashes, but still a king non the less.

In the age of EA and Blizzard bullshitting its consumers, i feel Capcom is among the few that still produces great games.
Capcom was just as bad in the early 2010s, but they really turned things around.

That US Gold Strider 2 was called Strider Returns in the US.
I think Battle Network can be revived by having Trading option, coop, Net Navi customization and PVP..
Mega man XI, Puzzle Fighter & Resident Evil 2 Remake should be on this list.
X-Men Children of the Atom & Marvel Superheroes were insanely great in the arcades.

The Bionic Commando games are part of the Commando series. The giveaway is that the goal in Bionic Commando is to save Super Joe. That, and Commando being in the title.

@@roryk101 Still official release from Capcom. There were others in the list that are only Japan series. Plus the fact Super Joe appeared in EVERY US Bionic Commando game. Definitely related.
