I didn't realize just how many franchises Capcom had until I saw this video. It's pretty insane to see how much Capcom has grown since the arcades, and they're definitely one of the best Triple A devlopers/publishers in the modern era with many of their recent games
Probably the most iconic company besides Nintendo, street fighter, monster hunter, mega man, resident evil and dmc, all big series even if I haven't played them all.
It's incredibly sad how they are doing NOTHING with their franchises, Monster Hunter gets a slow upgrade every year (hoping for mh6 to finally be a huge departure from the series, especially with how crazy they tried to push the envelope in sunbreak), Resident Evil gets either quality remakes of brand new games, and megaman get quality remaster, every other franchise can disapear or maybe get a game every 5/10 years.
I like how the Nintendo video was "Yeah Mother was a franchise about aliens I guess idk it's on life support" while the Capcom video is "Here's a detailed description on every Rival Schools game"
48:25 OBJECTION! The first Ace Attorney game originally came out in 2001 on the GBA (only in japan). (The DS wasn't out yet in 2001.) The same goes for the second and third game. The DS port was the first version, that made it to the west. This is, why the fifth case of the first game suddenly makes so much use of the touchscreen, it was a bonus case for the DS port. EDIT:grammar
@@Legend-of-Kai And also, showing Kristoph Gavin as one of the attorneys is wrong, because of spoiler reasons i won't tell the exact reason why, but that was also a mistake. TAKE THAT!
Darkstalkers Resurrection did not flop, it actually sold really well despite being yet another remaster (something Capcom has done way too many times) just because the fans did NOT want the franchise to die, even if it meant buying the same game for the 5th time. Thorgi's Arcade made a great video on the subject, Capcom just refuses to make a new one, despite insane demand.
We Mega Man fans may not be starved for content in the past, but considering most of those sub series end of rough cliffhangers (especially Legends!) it's been pretty rough. I feel we'd be more okay with the lack of games today if most of their stories were tied up better personally.
AA definitely isn't dead. With the recent trend of Capcom Collections (Megaman) as well as Great Ace Attorney finally getting localized, Investigations is liable to get a duology collection as is the 2nd Trilogy featuring Apollo. And storywise, there's still room for another Athena-centric game seeing as she never got her big growth moment like Phoenix and Apollo in their 3rd appearances. Maybe not a Mainstay, but it exists.
im not sure how they'll localise aai2 though. will they use the fan made names and dialogue? honestly i think aai might get a port, but not aai2, kind of like how mother 1 and 2 are on the switch, but not mother 3
@@dopamine5170 Mother 3 didn't get localized because Ninty is too scared of the LGBT to bring over the Magypsies. Also probably the drug use and other stuff that definitely bump the rating up. But mostly the Magypsies.
@@dopamine5170 What do you mean "how will the localize it?". They legally cannot sell a fan translation, they would just run into copyright issues immediately, but nothings stopping them from just making a official localization, as far as I know.
@@Tudsamfa thats what i mean. the names and dialogue that are now familiar to us (justine courtney, raymond shields, etc) to my knowledge are 100% fanmade and it would be far more troublesome to make new names and dialogue to both accurately translate/localise AND avoid copyright infringement. an official localisation of aai2 is very unlikely to happen as a result
Street Fighter Alpha is actually considered the mainline games, it's known as Street Fighter Zero in Japan, even though its story takes place between one and two.
@@Legend-of-Kai Another info to share, Street Fighter EX technically isn't dead, the developers have moved on to create Fighting EX Layer which only keeps the original characters of Street Fighter EX, removing the capcom characters altogether!
I think Marvel Vs Capcom can be safely assumed to be dead. Not through any fault of its own, but because of the legal issues. The development cycle of Infinite showed that after the acquisition by Disney that Capcom was forced to do the heavy lifting on budget (so many returning characters from 3 is because the budget was quite low and they needed to recycle assets) and also had a ton of requests that they had to deal with with regards to things like the roster (things like "no X-Men" and "no Fantastic Four" were clear requests from Disney's wanting to push the MCU). With Infinite leaving a bad taste in Capcom's mouth on the production side and general poor sales, I don't think Disney will be licensing out the IPs to Capcom again. Dino Crisis can PROBABLY be said to be also dead since Capcom is making a new "dinosaur shooting" game and not attaching it to the Dino Crisis IP in any capacity. I think on the off chance Exoprimal succeeds they'll stick future dinosaur games into that branding. I don't really have confidence that Devil May Cry will get much in the future. At least, the plot of 5 seems to indicate that Itsuno might not have confidence he could get a sixth entry greenlit, because he wrapped up basically every character arc that was going on within that game and didn't pull a Megaman by leaving a sequel hook. Not even in the Vergil DLC's new cutscenes which probably were made once the sales figures came in and Capcom could have seen the potential for more entries in the franchise. The framing of DMC5 very much seemed to be Itsuno accepting that it likely would be a grand finale to Devil May Cry, with all the celebrations it did to the history of the franchise and the ending being fairly conclusive. I can't read minds but considering both how Capcom treats its franchises and the way DMC5 was constructed it's very much possible that Itsuno may not have expected to get another DMC game made, and he might not even want it made given how he's actually very mindful of the DMC story and he has more or less concluded Dante, Nero and Vergil's stories. Dead Rising would probably be in "Exists" level. It hasn't had any new games for almost a decade now and the most it's getting is just ports on eshops. Capcom has not really been interested in having multiple games of similar "styles" in recent years which is probably why Street Fighter has been their only fighting game getting new entries (because Capcom is very squeamish when they make a mistake in the market and in the 2010s they oversaturated the market with fighting games which led to the bubble they created with SF4 bursting). Lots of higher ups might think, "Two zombie franchises is one too many." It's honestly sad. Capcom has so many beloved and iconic games that they could make a full-on Capcom vs. Capcom (not Fighting All-Stars, I mean a big budget Versus title) with multiple seasons of DLC and the largest issue with the roster would be not being able to fit ENOUGH of their classics onto it... That they completely neglect.
If one were to consider other franchises aside from Marvel having the same "combo heavy, easy supers" gameplay style, like Tatsunoko vs Capcom, probably not. They might find another partner (Shonen Jump, Hasbro, Nickelodeon, and so on) turn CVS3 into something more like MVC, do a "Capcom All Stars", have a single franchise in the limelight, or even go "Capcom vs. Everything" and pull out the weirdest possible characters.
@@parsath_2584 Itsuno has stated in somewhat vague terminology that whatever he does after Dragon's Dogma 2 will probably be his last project and with how conclusive DMC5 was, wrapping up everything that the series was doing narratively (even going as far to call it the end of the "Sons of Sparda" storyline) and not having the hint of a sequel hook - not even in the Vergil content which would have been well after Capcom could have given a greenlight to a sequel - it might not be a Devil May Cry game. That's more or less the point I'm making. It "might" continue but with how Capcom actually seems fine with letting IPs go to sleep even if the people heading their projects is insistent on making a new entry, having DMC's [adoptive] father more or less indicate that at least for the moment he's content with everything would be a reason to believe that maybe it won't get milked and only will get a new project if Itsuno actually has something he wants to do (and while DMC is the project most near and dear to his heart he has voiced a desire to work on other projects like wanting to work on a new fighting game).
Darkstalkers never met CAPCOM'S ideal expectations of money they wanted the game's to make people litteraly made a petition that was literally more than enough but it wasn't good enough for Capcom. People bought the new Capcom fighting collection just to get a new DARKSTALKERS GAME and they turned thier backs on the fans and the fans retaliated and refunded CAPCOM fighting collection.
Simple reason: FAMILY PRIDE (Capcom is also known unofficially as "Tsujimoto & Sons" Company for a reason.) Monster Hunter IP has the TSUJIMOTO Family written all over it, especially when the main producer happens to be the second-gen OWNERS of Capcom itself, Ryozo TSUJIMOTO to be precise! His own older brother Haruhiko is Capcom's CEO, and his own father Kenzo is Capcom's Founding Chairman.
It's gonna take some time. RE sells about 15M copies per year, which will increase as they put out more games. MH sales aren't really evergreen in the same way, even if it's selling 20M+ per game now.
@@Potidaonthat's mostly because a main game gets released every 3/4 years (the last one was World over 6 years ago, even though Rise also sold very well). Also the MH saga went crazy with world, which is a 5th gen game. MH Wilds will sell probably over 25/30 mln, and the games expantion (which will be released a year after) will sell around 15 mln
Capcom gave us the Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Trilogy, meaning it isn't dead. If it were dead or finished, they wouldn't have put the work to localize The Great Ace Attorney games or bundle the next 3 main installments releasing in 2024. That deserves higher up...
Man, with the recent amount of SEGA games that returned from the graveyard (Super Monkey Ball, House of the Dead and Samba de Amigo) now I need one of these videos for SEGA, love to know what happened to Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5 and NiGHTS into Dreams

Ironically Monster Hunters success is credited to nepotism, one of the series heads is related to a high up Capcom, allowing a greater bearth of time and creativity. My fave megaman,(and arguably the face of the company) has the greatest understandable example of franchise fatigue, hopefully the decade off and collections gave em some direction.
You dont know how long i waited for this Capcom is my childhood and i have always wanted a video where someone would appreciate what capcom did many years ago
56:15 OBJECTION! I never heard of this franchise until I saw the trailer of the anime. (It just appeared randomly on my recommendations) I didn’t even know it was a Capcom franchise, so you aren’t alone. :) Anyway, I really applaud you for all the effort you gone through to cover all these Capcom franchises, even the humor. Great job. The company sure has a knack for saying certain franchises would comeback if there’s enough demand for it.
An interesting thing about all the Megaman is that all of them hace a lot of cancelled games, even Megaman 2, the 2nd best selling game in the series adter Megaman 11 (yes, it took them over 30 years to neat that record), and this not only applies to sequels but for new spiniffs such as one that resembled a realistic first person shooter, and spinoffs for the spinoffs. Megaman is full of bodies in the closet.
Maverick Hunter actually looked sick, the main issue was they tried to change the artstyle and everything. If they stuck with what was established and made a solid fps around it, it could've been fire
Yeah well in addition to Mega Man Starforce 4, and Maverick Hunter. If Capcom hadn't cancelled Mega Man Universe they would have basically been the first big Triple AAAA Company to the "Mario Maker" or user/community content/level creative scene. Which I think would have been a good platform to catapult future Megaman games and series from, because if you look at the fan communities, they literally have a fangame, which is still actively being updated called Mega Man Maker., and I could not be more proud of the fan community and the amazing titles that they manage to push out.
Mega Man is one of a franchise that got the love but hard to done right. Keeping the same formula is safe but you will end up like CoD while innovation is difficult but it made many cool spin off.
@@chocov1233 man I feel bad for Retro they also had that Zelda spinoff that was them trying a more dmc style thing where you played as the last male of the Sheika with a cursed arm in a time where the Link and Zelda incarnations are missing that Nintendo killed in the crib. Lots of sick concept art for it leaked about a year ago. People practically had to bully Nintendo into putting them on Metroid Prime 4.
Would love to have a new Breath of Fire game so bad. I got my wish with Dragon's Dogma 2 coming out, I just need a turn based game to bring Capcom RPGs up to the point they should be~

It's crazy that this is only the *series*. Capcoms sheer amount of quality one offs is similarly insane. I dont care about most of what they make now, but I grew up with this company. I love Capcom.
Sengoku Basara was the franchise that itroduced me to the Musou genre. Played the games like crazy; 175 hours in SB3, and 350 in SB4. I also watched every anime of it.
@@markmessi9020 no i mean super monkey ball, yakuza, jet set radio, samba de amigo, nights into dreams, beyonetta, shenmu, and the tons of sonic spin off franchises
Ah, Okami. Probably my favorite game of all time. Truly sad not enough people had the pleasure to experience it, but…it’s been almost 20 years. I think I prefer it to have a legacy of one excellent game than possibly ruin it so far down the road.
It's nice to see Capcom has returned from their dark ages as of recent. They might be more willing to experiment with reviving franchises now that consumers look at them more charitably.
I'm watching this in July 2024. Even after the Dead Rising Remake/Remaster reveal, I'd still have it at Mainstay. Dragon's Dogma, after its sequel, would be promoted to Mainstay. And after the fan poll Capcom did, I'd say Dino Crisis would get promoted to Life Support and maybe Breath of Fire to Zombie status? And after the reveal of SNK characters as guests to SF6, I honestly think CvS is now dead. It'll take too much effort/resources from Capcom to make a 2nd full fledged fighting game, and if they did, it'd be MvC and maybe even Darkstalkers ahead of CvS. So Terry and Mai being guests in SF6 is like a proxy for CvS, but I think a real full CvS game will never happen. ...but I don't know, I guess Zombie is fine.
Megaman X was supposed to be finished with X5 leading to the story in Megaman Zero. But they retconned it and kept it going, giving us the abominations in the form of X6 and X7
To be honest I would put Mega Man in the mainstays, the number of its games in the past made it have a good influence, but its sales can't meet flagship standard.
Final fight had a fighting game, then after that just became street fighter. Its safe to say it is dead, as if they make a new one it will probably be called Street Fighter: Final Fight subtitle.
They're never gonna do that. Final Fight is a very important franchise for Capcom historically. Not to mention making an existing IP a spin-off of another would be monumentally stupid from a business perspective.
Heck even metal gear and castlevania are looking grim which is absolutely ludacris. Only pro Evo and silent hill are looking alive atm. Hopefully we get that rumoured metal gear remake.
This video is awesome! So happy to see Sengoku Basara get some mention here. I think their second round of localizing it was done well but it just didn't catch in the west. I hope they try again by some means or measure. And I think it's due for a sequel.
You missed Toraware no Palm (Imprisoned Palm) which had 2 instalments with DLC packs and was on iOS, Android and ported to switch. They still get merchandise every other month as well
I really think they should make a sequel to strider. The reboot they did some years ago was very good and I think it sold well no? It would be awesome for it to be their premier side scroller
You forgot Slam Masters, though there are ownership issues with it, and Black Tiger/Magic Sword/King of Dragons can also be considered a franchise, as well as Cyberbots/Armored Warriors/Tech Romancer. Adventure Quiz is also missing. All can be considered dead. Megaman World can be considered a sub franchise to the main series, consisting of 5 Game Boy games and a spin-off called The Wily Wars for Genesis (called Megaworld to reinforce it’s collection) and is dead. There’s also Xtreme and Power Battle, which have 2 games each. Capcom’s Disney games can be considered Dead as well.
Capcom's turn nice. Many favorites from them though one really big ommission in this video is the SonSon series, one of their earliest that started on arcades. You probably didnt because you likely just assumed there was that one arcade game, but it should be here as it has a sequel on PC Engine, has been referenced in various crossovers with the most prominent being having a playable character in marvel vs capcom 2 and of course the first game being a mainstay in basically all of Capcom's classic arcade collection releases. Now despite its importance to the company's history and frequent releasing of the first game, the series definitely is zombie tier at best since no one at Capcom or who has left the company previously has expressed interest in finally making a SonSon 3 after 40 years. They seem content in just letting it be those cute couple of journey to the west inspired games from their early years that they love to reference now and then. I'd love to have some kind of power to convince them to get to it since despite nothing new in decades it's a favorite of mine from them. But ah well, at least MvC2 SonSon is a great waifu lol. Also for dead rising, I'm just paraphrasing off of memory from Matt Mcmuscles video on the topic, but from what i remember that series is definitely not coming back despite its previous success. It's a lot of drama between the studio that made it and Capcom. Like, genuine one going behind the other's back type stuff and just overall burn out with the IP. It made mad money but it's definitely dead. A prime example of "sales figures aren't the end all in deciding if a game series continues" for sure.
I know capcom Vancouver disbanded after the release of 4 but i heard a lot of rumors of either a remake or reboot of the series. the first 2 and off the record were amazing. Some scary, horrific shit plus funny stuff u can do made for a fun time. 1 and 3 were launch titles for the xbox 360 and xbox one but i do remember people thinking 3 was just ok. 4 of course bombed like hell. If they do make another one, i would love that remake man playing the OG one is buggy as hell
@@backupschmliff1156 Oh yeah, I knew Clover dissolved into Platinum. Hideki Kamiya, director of Okami, works there and they've shown interest some times :( Man, I've been literally praying for Okami 2 for YEARS. I hope it can be done someday.
It's sold millions of copies over time and got excellent reviews, despite maybe being Kamiya's worst game. It may have been underrated at the time, but it really isn't anymore.
If there is one developer that is on par with nintendo in terms of amazing franchises it’s definitely Capcom. Monster Hunter is my all time favorite franchise
Not seeing Auto Modellista (first and only racing game by Capcom as far as I can tell) in the video really breaks my heart. I really love the aesthetics. It's so unique seeing cel shaded cars in such a style. They really messed up with the handling and controls at some regional versions. It failed so much that Capcom never attempted to do another racing game ever since.
When capcom was hacked it showed a lot of plans for the company including re4 remake and re4 vr port street fighter 6 and onimusho REMAKE alot of those happened still onimusho didn't get announced but we are waiting
The way things are going I'm hoping Onimusha Bionic Commando, and Strider series gets a remake, Darkstalkers gets at least 1-2 more installments, and if they go rando and bring back Plasma Sword, i think that'll be Capcom's answer to soul calibur.
As much as I love Sengoku Basara, and as a very longtime fan, (in fact I'm one of the creators of the 4Sumeragi translation patch) I'll say this: I think it sadly fits more in the life support\zombie category than the mainstays one. It hadn't had a new major title or anime released since 2016, and that means 7 years of inactivity from the franchise, besides the mobile game which in all honesty doesn't count, and with the creator, Hiroyuki Kobayashi leaving the company rather recently, I don't think we'll see a new title any time soon. Besides that, this is a really damn good video! keep it up!
@@dominiccenteno1233 Thanks! Just a warning though I do these types of videos most likely once a month as they take a lot out of me haha so won't be anytime soon
I watched the whole vídeo just to get to the Sengoku Basara segment. Sengoku basara is my favorite gaming franchise ever and so it pains me to correct you about its current state. It actually made me happy watching you consider Sengoku Basara a mainstay but i don't think it is and we can see there is a lack of research from you part about this franchise. Before any explaining, just want to tell you that you did a good job overall, very enjoyable video. Sengoku Basara had a nice run until the spin-off Sengoku Basara Sanada Yukimura-den. Sengoku Basara 3 was the best selling game of the franchise even though here in the west the success wasnt much cause of poor marketing. The franchise still had a prosperous future ahead but the sequel Sengoku Basara 4 (which btw is a greater game) sold less, it was maybe because of poor advertising for new fans and there was no anime to promote it. Still i believe the game had success, it got nice reviews, won a award and even was the best selling game of the week in japan. But then came the spin-off Yukimura-den and it was a failure, game had almost to no content and for what i searched, people in general did not enjoy the story. There was no reason to play this game if not for the poor story and new characters, the content was so poor that you really didn't have much reason to play with thoose new characters. (This game was the only one who was not produced or directed by the fathers of this series, maybe thats one of the major reasons for the failure) Next we have a low-budget anime (Gakuen Basara) which was fun but i don't how well that went and a mobile game that after 1~2 years was shut down. Then we have the 15th anniversary of the franchise and they announced Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi Anniversary Edition, basically a deluxe edition (with no new content) of the same game released 5 years ago. If they gonna re-release a 5year old game in the same goddamn console, atleast translate it. Fast foward and we have the sad news that Hiroyuki Kobayashi, creator and producer of this franchise, left Capcom. The director of this series, Makoto Yamamoto still works on capcom so we still have that going for Sengoku Basara. Thanks to this turn of events, Sengoku Basara is probably Zombie or even dead. With a bad localization, bad marketing, bad spin-off, bad re-release of a goddamn 5 year old game in the same goddamn console, failed mobile game, producer gone, its pretty hard to see this series continue. I don't know how well it sells on japan but there is alot of merchandise, on their official twitter its all they promote about plus game promotions. It may have been a flagship in Japan but nowadays i dont think it is anymore, people still ask for a Sengoku Basara 5 but i don't think capcom will care. Last time there was any type of news related to Sengoku Basara was Aug 12, 2022, when Kobayashi announced his depart from Capcom. So in reality, we dont have any Sengoku Basara news for almost 3 years. The last hope we have its on the 20th anniversary (July 21, 2005) but take in mind that our last hope was actually on the 15th Anniversary.
I personally think you should have included games with only one mainline entry. I get you didn't want to have to talk about a bunch of old one-off titles from 20+ years ago, but in some cases like Asura's Wrath I think the titles were recent enough and/or notable enough to include
I started in gaming with 2 Capcom games back in the 90s: Street Fighter and Rockman I really loved your video, I appreciate the hard work, subbed, and thanks !
@@rocraider163 Yep, I'll most likely end up going through all of them. Atm working on Bandai Namco, Konami will most likely be after that, then square enix, sony, microsoft even, koei tecmo maybe the order will be all over the place but would be cool to get them all done
Pretty good list... But I have a problem with the way you've placed Marvel vs. Capcom and Megaman. The title of your video is "The Current State of Every Capcom Franchise." Currently, both of those franchises are either dead or just barely on life support. There will NEVER be another Marvel vs. Capcom game, and Megaman doesn't even appear to have anything on the horizon.
Humble Bundel just recently gave away a couple of Capcom games for a buck. I actually liked Lost Planet 3 a lot and I feel like it had potential. I wish It would be possible to get a remake of the first game similar to the Dead Space Remake but I guess this is really unlikely and probably a stupid idea. The Megaman collection is also fun (I abused the rewind option).
First and foremost I would really love Megaman Legends 3. The Marvel vs Capcom series need s a return to form ala MvC2. A new MvC with the animation style of DragonBall Fighter Z/Gulity Gear/DNF fighters would look amazing. Dino Crisis in VR would be great. A new Project Justice would also be refreshing. A new Breath of Fire would be welcomed as well. Lastly, a Lost Planet collection seems to be in order.
I'd put Capcom on par with Nintendo and Sony. They have several of the most iconic and influential games on the planet under their belt. The only thing separating them is Capcom doesn't make consoles.
@@NetBattler Capcom confirmed that even if there's chance for a new Mega man game, it wouldn't be for a while. This is because Mega man has two problems. One is Kazuhiro Tsuchiya the producer of Mega man 11 has left Capcom, and the reason mega man put on hiatus before was because Keiji Inafune left Capcom. So thats a bad sign. The second is mega man is kinda hard to evolve. Mega man is known for his weapons when you beat the robot master. Problem is some power ups are disliked by fans, mega man 4 and 5 are prime examples. So Capcom is like can make a mega man game where all of the power ups can be equally great???__
Capcom abandon JRPG genre after Breath of Fire was discontinued the only genres that remain in Capcom was action,action-rpg,fighting game and visual novel
Capcom has been playing it super safe for a while now, they got burnt hard for a while but they're turning things around and hopefully that means they can take risks again. I get why some of these are not being touched, Lost Planet and Dead Rising had big fumbles in their last games and polarized the fanbase so whatever happens now they'll alienate someone with their next entry and it's not worth the risk. Sengoku Basara is just in the Monster Hunter waiting room, popular in Japan but they won't release a new game if it's not released outside of Japan. Onimusha remaster didn't do well and whatever the next game is people are expecting it to be a AAA game on par with Resident Evil's visuals. Then you have the ones with no hope of seeing a sequel any time are the ones that occupy the same space as their alive franchise; why would they make any fighting game that isn't Street Fighter or MvC when they can just put those characters in those games? Is it really worth making other sidescrollers when you have two Megaman side scroller franchises? In fact why would you make other Megaman games when people want classic and X. Dino Crisis is just dead, it is too similar to Resident Evil and like Onimusha people will compare it to the modern remakes and expect visuals on par with them and Capcom knew this a long time ago which is probably why they abandoned it early on. Capcom is not gonna be having more than 5 AAA franchises not until they find a cash cow machine like Bamco has with licensed games.
Cool insights and breakdown! Definitely hit the nail on the head for a lot of these. A shame to see honestly because I particularly like Dino crisis and onimusha. Guess they are just RE reskins in a general sense and RE sells so why bother l
They'll probably do Battle Network 7 next (even if the series ended) since the collection sold so well. The ending of Battle Network 6 doesn't really prevent another Battle Network game, unlike the Zero series.

We Mega Man fans may not be starved for content in the past, but considering most of those sub series end of rough cliffhangers (especially Legends!)
it's been pretty rough. I feel we'd be more okay with the lack of games today if most of their stories were tied up better personally.
Lies again? Best Dad Chubby Children
Agreed.
im not sure how they'll localise aai2 though. will they use the fan made names and dialogue? honestly i think aai might get a port, but not aai2, kind of like how mother 1 and 2 are on the switch, but not mother 3
@@dopamine5170
Mother 3 didn't get localized because Ninty is too scared of the LGBT to bring over the Magypsies.
Oh really was unaware of that thanks for sharing!
One could also place Street Fighter II in "Life Support", if we consider each other individual series; the rest would be "Finished".
It was take place before SF2 since SF2 introduce Cammy after she left Shadaloo as Doll in SFA3 and join Red Delta in SF2
@@Legend-of-Kai Another info to share, Street Fighter EX technically isn't dead, the developers have moved on to create Fighting EX Layer which only keeps the original characters of Street Fighter EX, removing the capcom characters altogether!
Thats my favorite street fighter
Lots of higher ups might think, "Two zombie franchises is one too many."
It's honestly sad.
I agree with you.
Devil May Cry V sold well.
There will be another entry.
Fr bro.
I feel like one day Monster Hunter franchise will sell more than Resident Evil. It’s inevitable really
Potentially yeah, each new game sells incredibly well. RE is doing well with its remakes at the moment though
Simple reason: FAMILY PRIDE (Capcom is also known unofficially as "Tsujimoto & Sons" Company for a reason.)
Monster Hunter IP has the TSUJIMOTO Family written all over it, especially when the main producer happens to be the second-gen OWNERS of Capcom itself, Ryozo TSUJIMOTO to be precise!

56:15 OBJECTION! I never heard of this franchise until I saw the trailer of the anime. (It just appeared randomly on my recommendations) I didn’t even know it was a Capcom franchise, so you aren’t alone. :)
Anyway, I really applaud you for all the effort you gone through to cover all these Capcom franchises, even the humor. Great job. The company sure has a knack for saying certain franchises would comeback if there’s enough demand for it.
🤣 thanks though means a lot. I've heard that a lot you know a bunch of these franchises but never knew they were made by Capcom
@@UltimateTS64 Basically Metroid P{rime but with X and Zero.

It's such a shame that the Breath of Fire series are dead. I enjoyed these games as much as Square Enix's Final Fantasy series.
Dark Void also technically counts because of the Dark Void Zero spin-off game, which people actually liked more than the actual game
Since that Spinoff isn’t a main entry it may not count.
You forgot to mentioned that Darkstalkers got in the latest port, Capcom Fighting Arcade Collection!
Capcom really does have an incredible lineup of series'. 👏👏

Although none of them share a name, I wonder if Armored Warriors, Cyberbots, and Tech Romancer could be considered as games in the same series...
Same for Black Tiger, Magic Sword, and King of Dragons.
At least games like Commando and Mercs have the same Japanese name.
Capcom is going strong.
I believe even their forgotten franchises can make a comeback.
And to boot Inafune made the original Dead Rising.
@@austinreed7343 well that's definitely not gonna help it, yeah lol

Not seeing Auto Modellista (first and only racing game by Capcom as far as I can tell) in the video really breaks my heart. I really love the aesthetics. It's so unique seeing cel shaded cars in such a style. They really messed up with the handling and controls at some regional versions. It failed so much that Capcom never attempted to do another racing game ever since.
Not gonna lie, seeing Mitsunari's angry face at the start of the video made me smile.

Dragons Dogma II Has Been Announced!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cyberbots is a franchise you left out. armored warriors is the first game in the franchise
(This game was the only one who was not produced or directed by the fathers of this series, maybe thats one of the major reasons for the failure)
Next we have a low-budget anime (Gakuen Basara) which was fun but i don't how well that went and a mobile game that after 1~2 years was shut down.
Woah! I thought you were going to do the video on only one of them. You're going full ham on them all?
Lmao didn't realise you could comment before it releases but yeah same format as the Nintendo one.

There was a leak for a new game in the latter.
Final fight is heavily tied into the street fighter universe, so it will always be around
No mention of Slam Masters? Or did I miss it?
Humble Bundel just recently gave away a couple of Capcom games for a buck. I actually liked Lost Planet 3 a lot and I feel like it had potential. I wish It would be possible to get a remake of the first game similar to the Dead Space Remake but I guess this is really unlikely and probably a stupid idea. The Megaman collection is also fun (I abused the rewind option).
I'm on that megaman copium that we will get a new game since legacy collection breaking records
I don't think I'd genuinely change any of your placements, excellent video and excellent opinions and coverage :)
To be honest, I think you were too generous with your rankings on a lot of these. I'd lean toward most of them being in zombie or dead category.
😭😭
I'd put Capcom on par with Nintendo and Sony. They have several of the most iconic and influential games on the planet under their belt. The only thing separating them is Capcom doesn't make consoles.
no power stone entry recently is criminal
Capgoat is on the rise again. Gimme my new battle network with good cell shade graphics and online with balanced battle chips please! 🙏
I love Capcom just hope for some Dino Crisis and Megaman comeback ♥
I would love to see Netto in future Megaman game.
They've made Monster Hunter Stories 1 and 2, though, which are JRPGs.
Mhstories games are JRPGs
I still believe they'll resurrect Megaman...and it's gonna be big. Just not now....but before I die (I'm 25, so in the next potentially 65 years)
Capcom has been playing it super safe for a while now, they got burnt hard for a while but they're turning things around and hopefully that means they can take risks again.
They could bring back ZX if they start making the X series in 3D again like with X7-CM.
They'll probably do Battle Network 7 next (even if the series ended) since the collection sold so well. The ending of Battle Network 6 doesn't really prevent another Battle Network game, unlike the Zero series.
@@austinreed7343 Not when the core dev team is now part of their RIVAL developer (Inti Creates).
@@TsurugiMatsuda
Inti still does commission work. If they really wanted to, they could request they develop a new ZX project and they probably wouldn't object. The series' sales are the bigger problem, really.
Would love to see a Bandai Namco one.
I'll probably get to it eventually
Bandai be like: here's new gundam and dragon Ball gacha games.
@@NetBattler
Bandai does own Gundam, by the way.
@@austinreed7343 I know. I still cant believe Bandai haven't officially translated both gundam seed destiny (psp and PS2) such a disappointment because I like the gameplay was so nice..
DMC isn’t even half the age of megaman and it’s already one of capcoms best selling that alone is telling.
I’m still mad about how lost planet turned out. They had the perfect formula for a franchise with 2 and ditched it.
Mega Man is 35 years old, DMC is 21.
What, no Haunting Ground?
Is it a franchise? Nope.
It's spiritual relation to Clock Tower doesn't count.
I loved Mercs when I was a kid but I never realized that it is as a sequel to Commando.
I learned something new
48:23 AA actually started on the GBA in Japan
(Pheonix was trying tp tell you multiple times, but you didn't listen and put the franchise elsewhere on the list)
