Ah, such a missed opportunity. Would have loved to see under the bonnet and what not, just to glimpse what makes those cars special. You could outright make a youtube series out of this, pick a classic rally car, put it on a lift and point out various bits and pieces about what makes that car special. It would be even more amazing if it was possible to to poke and prod someone involved in the development process of that said car. George Donaldson's stories about his time in Toyota, Mitsubishi and Subaru's world rally teams were amazing.
Fun to see Ian! Great memory of him driving my dirt Miata practice car at Dirtfish. So many laughs that day. It was always a great time when he was in town.
A pity that the Ford RS200 was not mentioned. Also a pity that the Juha Kankkunen Peugeot 205 T16 E2 winning Rally Sweden car was not present at the time that this video was shot. The Peugeot 205 T16 E2 is definitly one of my two favourite Group B Rally Cars. The other one is the Rothmans Opel Ascona 400 WC Car, driven by the best driver ever Walter Röhrl. I have had an interesting phone call with him for about 45 minutes in the early 90s.
100%!!! You can have your Lambo’s and Pagani’s or even Singers, I’d have what’s in this collection were I wealthy enough to do it. And I’d drive all of them!!!!
Brilliant. I could spend all day in there. I remember a few years back going to see david suttons collection of different rally cars, for those who can remember him, he ran an independent rally preparation business, running cars for Hannu Mikkola and Ari Vatanen in the ford days, when Ford were on strike and also he ran the British Audi Quattro rally team. Hes place was like a museum of old rally cars, but was also a working business still preparing classic rally cars.
Awesome video and some impressive cars over there!! That Subaru WRC S10 and the Audi S1 definitely my 2 favorites with that Subaru WRC P8 in a close 3rd!!
S1, and the Richard Burns gift Subaru. Almost 4 years ago my 04' STI exploded and ripped the hood in two while I watched it burn to the ground. Still love me some Subaru, also owned an EvoX and now a 7.5 Golf R MT. There's something about them i4 turbo awd cars I love so much.
If I was a billionaire... About the Skoda Octavia WRC. A few month ago I heard an interview of Armin Schwarz. He said that prodrive did a bad job on the development of the Octavia. Prodrive gave the development to their junior engineers, with not great success. He tested the car in England and it was awful to drive. A lot of pumpsteer and so on. I can understand why they sell the Octavia, it is the ugliest car in the workshop. And there is a TR7.
I realise that Group B gets all the attention but the other cars are equally exciting. Feel free to do a more lengthy tour of the collection if you can with more detail about each car.
You need to go to Estonia to get Colins test car Ford Escorf Mk2. Never raced but tested. >Full documented car by Ford. My boss was driving on winter rallys with it but sold it 2 years ago. its still in Estonia so please look it up! I would like to see it in museum rather than driven to peaces by somebody
Are Group B cars road legal, I assume they are, if so can you daily drive an Audi S1 if so, sign me up, you can keep your Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s, I would happily spend the rest of my live in total discomfort if I could drive that S1 as my only car, 😂
The (short) quattro is not the epitome of Group B cars! It was still based on a road car chassis, had a horrible weight distribution and only won two rallies.
@@ammermohammed832 The exact opposite is what Group B so special: it was rally cars turned road cars, not road cars turned rally cars. As for the sound, I agree.
Gotta chime in to respect the S1: Audi wanted to maintain relevance to their production cars, win or lose. It may not have always been fastest, but its 5cyl noise, flames and outrageousness will always stand.
Poor filming and rushed liked mad , what a mess Why the hurry you couldn’t have been going anywhere else because of Covid lockdown , but then again why are you even there during Covid lockdown ?
*What's your favorite car at BGMsport?*
The 2000 S6 WRC Subaru
The 555 Subaru was my first dream car, and still #1 in my heart today. Absolute perfection, in my opinion. Sorry, nerding out a little 😅.
Lancia 037
The RS1700t, the rarest of the lot & barely got a glimpse ....
Delta S4 for me, then the 037s. The whole collection is awesome👍
The Petter Solberg Subaru is very underrated in terms of beauty. Also a very historic car.
blobeye is a classic
Why the rush, a walk through of every car wouldve been nice!
Agreed should have been a proper go over with a look inside and under the bonnet.
Yup, I think I spied an RS 1700T which they just walked past and I would of liked more detail.
@@saz9170 I think BGM own the Escort 1700T
Group B, golden age of rallying

Spotted these legends during your coverage of Monte, and was really hoping for this! Thanks 🤙

this shouldve been a 20+ minute video
NOW THAT'S A DREAM CAR GARAGE!!
🤟😁👍

Great audi 1:00 - 1:34 👍

How the hell , they did not talk about the most icon car... the Ford escorts ...beats me they are more interesting to me
Awesome video and some impressive cars over there!! That Subaru WRC S10 and the Audi S1 definitely my 2 favorites with that Subaru WRC P8 in a close 3rd!!
The Chevette HSR though, watching those things race in the late 70’s is amazing.

Any idea as to why did your EJ255 went and blew up?
Oeff.. Escort RS1700T behind the 037!
OMG that 308….OMG that 037….OMG that….EVERYTHING😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
S4 Delta and many 037 WOWOWOWOW!
The Delta S4 in the workshop looks to have damage to the main bulkhead fiberglass section!

Wow what a collection, many thanks for showing these amazing cars.

The r5 turbo used to enter rally Lebanon alot back in the old days as well as porsche and m3 e30 and manta 400

Great stuff. I would have liked to see more (about 3 hours would have been good)!
What a collection ,could have easily been a hour special 😋
absolutely beautiful
Got to see that Renault 5 at Race Retro 2019, although I think that's the only car in their collection I've seen in person
Did I just spot a Ford RS 1700 ... I would love to get a closer look on that an get a history lesson !
David Evans surely are a WRC journalist, he knews a lot of the details of each car there..
That was great, very interesting
wowzers!! skipped past that RS200 and hsr chevette
PUMAAAAAAAA!
Surprised there was no mention of Bill Gwynne
I had a TR7 not rally spec though :)
Just brush past a Lotus Cortina, to center on a Talbot 🙈
Great collection, what's the rush though? This is youTube make it as long as we like please.
How did you skip the Ford RS 200 group B car??? wtf?
Skipped the RS200?
What about them fords in the background? no 6R4`s & no RS200`s no T16`s.
Did I see a 64 Dodge Dart?
This guy must use 100$ bills to wipe is bottom jajajaj amazing collection!!!!
...or £50 notes being the UK! (currently that's $69)
He is the luckiest man in the world
Needed 13 minutes on each car! Oh the ones missed! An RS500, totally ignored!
Coño, el Ferrari de Zanini.
Why doesn't Colin stand still instead of rocking back n forth
This could of been an hour easily, all those cars 13 mins not long enough
Bloody hell slow down
Love this, what a place! Please though guys, remember there’s a fucking pandemic happening and this is why you’re there and not say in the Alps!
The Opel Manta 400 stood out the most in that collection........🤔😔!!!!!

The (short) quattro is not the epitome of Group B cars! It was still based on a road car chassis, had a horrible weight distribution and only won two rallies.
Which makes it even more special as its based on a road car as compared to the rs200 and s4. It is the best sounding rally car of all time
That engine at full revs is as good as it gets

The epitome. Get over it.
Doesn't even mention the feckin' RS200 in the corner......
More on "std" rally cars as opposed to group b, hence video title!!
I find DirtFish anything they cover isn't very good too many waffling **** and camera work always on speed.
Poor filming and rushed liked mad , what a mess
