This was from a time without fancy winter tires, abs and other boring crap..... The fact I still remember it after 50 years says enough ! Wish my dad kept it for me..... He changed later to a Taunus and quickly after that a 2.0 3-door Sierra, sadly not a Cosworth.... Still drive the smaller Ford transit connect today for my job.

What made them iconic? Success.. Always loved the lines on the mkI. Would probably take over any mkII III etc. They have such nice curves and the proportions, which they mostly kept through the generations but they lost those lovely curves, are just about perfect.

The London - Mexico cars were equipped with the Kent-Crossflow engine and not the BDA engine.
This is true it was the Kent engine but highly modified to a capacity of 1850cc not a 1600cc found in the road cars

Maize yellow looks so much better in modern 2k paint. Maize always looked a bit drab in cellulose.
