- A fan of fast Fords? Or slow ones, for that matter? Either way, if you’re big into the Blue Oval, then you’ll be interested in Ford’s new Heritage and Innovation Centre in the UK.
Just finished, it houses more than 100 vehicles, from a Model T, through multiple GT40s and a million-pound Escort, to all the best Cossies and RS Fords. Recently relocated from Dagenham to Daventry, it also provides access to a library containing brochures, owners’ manuals and advertising materials from Ford’s UK history.
So, before it opens to the public, join Top Gear Magazine’s Tom Ford for a tour of 100-plus years of Ford history in Britain.

Does anyone remember the Ford Racing games on PS2?
I visited the collection at Dagenham several times, but it was asked and everything was pushed into every corner, so looking at the cars was a real problem, so nice to see the collection having a proper home. The only downside was that we used to borrow cars for events and trackdays at Dunton. We just phoned them up and negotiated what we wanted. One year we had an Escort Mk1 and an RS200, quite a contrast to what we were making at the time.
Loving these tours and all of the interesting content that is coming out of UA-cam TG. Great stuff and hats off.
Ok Top Gear office boy, stick to making the tea, we can do without the obvious fanboying of your bosses!!

Thanks, Tom and Top Gear! I've become much more of a Ford fan as I've grown older. As a U.S. native, many of these are familiar to me largely from British car TV (I'm sure you can imagine at least one show).
As an American i find it a struggle to fall in love with any of the big 3. You got the C8 and that new crazy fast mustang and Dodge makes shit cars. Not trying to argue but ,may i ask how?

Wow! Looks amazing, so glad they've got everything displayed properly now, a lot of new additions since i saw the collection in its old home back in 2015.
Very cool. I've always loved all (well most) of the UK and European fords. Those cosworth sierras and escorts are amazing. Hillarious to see the escort because in the US that was just a cheap commuter car. Wish we got the cosworth stuff here.

Iv had afew fords and had a fiesta featured in Performance Ford July 2001 . Absolutely love the Escort Rs Cosworth- such an iconic car . I’d love one …..one day

Supervan 2 and 3 are the same vehicle. It's a ford c100 chassis underneath originally with a Cosworth DFL then a Cosworth HB when it was updated to supervan 3. Now it runs that rather naff V6.

11:16 is that the last Fezzy next to the Mk1 Escort with a load of Signatures? I've had a Mk4 Ford Escort Eclipse driven 2 Transits, a Transit Connect for work and now own a Mk6 Fiesta Zetec (S Rep) now. Got to love a blue oval. ♥ Wonder if they can grab those Fords that are stored in that old dealership in Germany. Would be cool to have them along with their siblings in that Centre.
I thought the last fiesta from cologne was grey with all the signatures? Maybe a couple different ones were sent out?

@@stelamo that’s because it was a prototype the car never raced or went on the road.
It is only one of it, and Ford sold it to a private collector in Arizona(?) because of the economic recess of 07-08.

Growing up in a Ford family, all the vehicles we’ve owned (besides me I’m the black sheep) have been Fords. I still own a Ford truck but I work for Toyota so I also own a Corolla. But, I’ll always be a Ford fanboy. 🤙🏼 I love this collection.
It'll never be the same as the old place, had a proper old school feel to it, my mates dad worked there and I was lucky enough to go down there a few times and have a wander round freely

Good series this "collection series".
This brought up a fantastic memory from the last year when I acted in a play called 'Made In Dagenham' based on then-Ford production, the political issue of gender pay disparity during those times & a plot of launching Cortina (the then-new car) in the British market. An interesting fusion of being a theatre person & an automotive enthusiast!!
