Since watching your video “the mental side of RC racing” it has definitely helped me. I’ve done 3rd place in a club A main and 2nd place in a bigger race B main. Smooth is fast and fast is smooth. Also marshal how you want to be marshaled! Godspeed bro
I heard it as slow=smooth and smooth =fast. Tires only work best being given one command push forward or turn to a side. Although I will admit that dancing between the 2 is quite a thrill on its own. Thanks for the advice r.rc
Hey man, you make great videos and you've got a stellar voice. If my buggy driving was as smooth as your voice or the background music you use, I'd def cut my avg lap times down by 1-2 seconds.
Can´t stress the working together aspect during training and qualifying enough. Right now this is a sensitve topic for me as during my last two races I suffered around 100€ of damages due to unneccessary blocking in training or people trying to win the race during qualifying. The best solution for both is to just let the faster driver bye at a convenient spot. Less risk of crashing, both can run their comfortable pace and the slower driver has a chance to learn the racing line of the faster driver.
I've always been told to race at 80% Do don't overdrive and react to what the car is doing. Be in control of the car brake early get turn in as you said roach when your on the rostrum it goes out the window, I've learnt to change my breathing to help try and calm me down during mains.
I ain't lifting until I see the checkered flag or Jesus!! First order of business is making it around the track consistently without crashing. Crazy thing is, once you can do that, the speed just kinda happens without you really having to put much effort into it. If you get that part down, people are literally just handing time back to you with their crashing while you feel like you are on a Sunday cruise.
i have found when you are behind someone slower 9 out of 10 times they will crash on their own. if they dont crash they will move over. either someone knows your faster or trys to push their driving beyond their skill. trying to make a pass often times fucks you both up and sometimes will land you on your lid losing you postions while they drive on by. put the pressure on them by staying close or approaching them quick in the turns but know when to back off.
i've got just under 30 hours on the simulator. tried to setup my virtual truck the same way my real truck is setup and i'm going from there. we'll see how i do when i eventually go to the local track. used to race 30 years ago in my teens but haven't done anything but bash in almost 2 decades.
How do I get started in racing? Get a Tekno, go to my local track and crash it a lot?😭 All I do with RC cars was bashing around with my 1/5 scale. Running on a track is always quite intimidating for me

Opening music is smoooooth. If I ever go pro I'll still be watching. (Pro = not likely / Still watching = very likely)
This is for your last video. I have the tlr typhon. I came 2nd in a trophy race and won a club race with the tlr typhon
After watching this video I took on board a lot of the advice and came 2rd in a recent final at Essex Carpet clash UK. Keep up the good work mate
just wow, the SCTs bowling over first place and none of the ones shoving him onto his lid even checked up
The red and yellow SCT is a dirty driver. Probably doesn’t have many friends.
Very well planned our video. Great information

That thumbnail is fire!
Yeah it is
It's quite simple, the car in the thumbnail drives quite smart
@@RoachRC you have great videos and great thumbnails
Roach, you are right because at wicked it helped me a lot to be smart and not just drive as hard as possible. Wish I could have raced you
Flat out always!
I always like the music in your videos buddy! 👍😁

Over thinking is issuance my issue. Oh and miss timing turns... almost always happens when I start to get into a flow.
❤❤❤❤content baby!!
@ROACHRC ONE WISE MAN GIVE ME TWO BEST ADVICES:
SLOW IS FAST
KEEP THE RUBBER DOWN
More FORC air time. I'll have to get some footage of the outdoor track sent to you.

Trust me, if you can hang onto a 5th scale with some level of efficiency you should be fine
Can you please make a video about expo settings
That would probably be a short more than anything else
@@RoachRCas eloquent as you put topics into words with the jazz background probably a 5 min video.
Set to zero, done 😂
smooth is fast
Is anyone running hobao these days? The sste is looking kinda enticing for a beginners 8th scale racer
Fists of Ham is my Indian name 🐽
