Zakk Wylde was 19 when this song was recorded. Discovered by Ozzy. Cant remember where. But the kid was a monster.
He 1st appeared on The Ultimate Sin album of 88.
~22 or 23. Zakk was born in 67 this album was recorded between 89-91 he was 19 on the No Rest for the Wicked album.
We had No more Tears and Metallicas Black Album the same year, I was a Junior in High School, saw both Shows. Alpine Valley and the Bradley Center
Megadeth had Countdown to extinction #2 on the album charts after the black album. And this was Ozzy's 1st retirement. People called the tour the no more tours tour. (1991).
This album was followed by Ozzmosis (1995) and The retirement sucks tour. I saw both in Winnipeg, Canada. And Metallica's Oh Poor Touring Me at the old Winnipeg Arena. Seen Ozzy 3x. Metalllica 2x.
I grew up with Ozzy & other heavy metal bands like Metallica... I was 18 when this 1st came out ... Ozzy has definitely been a forerunner in the Heavy Metal genre!!

I feel so privileged to have seen this concert in person as with no rest for the wicked the previous year. He is a true metal god! He couldn't create a bad song if he tried and because he had such great guitar players with his distinct vocals they could have turned the worst song ever written into a hit.

No More Tears was the first Ozzy's song I liked and then the first album I liked. But funnily, it wasn't the first song or album I heard, because before that a friend of mine had given me Bark at the Moon and I didn't like it at all. As time passed, I became a huge fan of Ozzy, but still Bark at the Moon is my least favorite and I don't think I've revisited this album for the last ten years. As for No More Tears, in my personal chart I'd say it shares #1 with Ozzmosis. Both are greatest albums ever.
