Jacksonville , Florida USA but really all over the South East Southern Rock genre of music , it was always on the radio since I was 4 years old , I'm 54 years old now .
I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd live in the “Warehouse March 30, 1975” New Orleans,La. It was the Nuthin’ Fancy Tour I was 17 years old at the time… I am truly blessed.
When I first heard this song and heard the solo, I had a melt down. I was 7 years old. I can't comprehend back then how we, as people, have something this beautiful. And when I finally found the name of the band, I found out that they no longer play because of a plane crash. Take note, I was 7 and found something really beautiful just to have the world take it away in an instant. That whole reality thing spoke to me as a child. But hey, 30 years later, I still get the chills when listening to freebird. I listen to it every night since I was 7.
They are from Jacksonville FL. This came out in the 70's. The best version of this song is Live with the addition of the piano. Yhey frequently used four guitarists.
Ronnie Van Zant was one of my absolute favorite voices in all of Southern Rock. Legendary band, and they deserve their place on the leaderboard; truly one of the great pioneers of the genre.
I heard it for the first time watching that 70s show one night. My dad walked by and heard me say I wonder what that song is in the really like it. He loved being able to share something with me,that was ours, and we have so many good memories together,I know music will always bring my dad to me when I want to feel like being with him one day in the future (he is battling terminal cancer,I love him for the gift of music and am now sharing it with my son)
My very 1st concert. I was 14. Veteran's Stadium, Philadelphia. It was beyond amazing. I still remember it like it was yesterday. ✌️❤️⭐️ BTW, I was yelling at you, IT'S NOT OVER YET!!! 😁 And they're from Alabama, USA. They have a very sad backstory. Half the band died in a plane crash. 💔
When this song gets a chokehold on you…… This song takes you on a journey. My parents met in the 60’s and I was born in 89’. My earliest memory of this song is sitting in the back of my dad’s station wagon and when this song came on the radio…he…would…BLAST ITT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now as an adult every time I hear this song on a playlist I catch myself being transported, stop what I’m doing and vibing 🎶Looooooooord I can’t chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaange🎶
I just caught the freestyle at the end and it totally crack me up. But it's completely appropriate for the feeling of the music definitely. That was great.
Lynyrd Skynyrd The ballad of Curtis Lowe The Songs about the lead singer’s role model, growing up a legendary black man A must hear You’re welcome, boss
Really enjoying your content! Such nostalgia, watching you experience the music. Fantastic stuff. I recommend "Albatross" by Corrosion of Conformity. Sounds metal I know, but it's much more of a 90's wail kind of sound. Thanks for the vid.
My second time watching you react and I’m going to binge today! You’re reactions are very entertaining. “Who’s the guitarist?” My answer,” Which one?” 😄
(If you look at the album cover behind you, it tells you how to pronounce the name 😉). They played this at the "Day on the green" concert in 1977, where I was in the front row... And I was *feeling it!* This concert was recorded on video and recording for all history and the video can be had from "Wolfgang's vault." Along with Skynnard, Santana, the Outlaws and Peter Frampton doing his Comes Live album played,, as well!! It lasted all day, the entire Oakland coliseum was filled with pot smoke and I had to pay the outrageous price of $8.50 to get in. It was 12 bucks at the gate and that was just not happening. 😆 Now, they're asking a hundred dollars a ticket for lawn seats to Foreigner... Sheesh.
I know, it’s crazy to think of how cheap the tickets were back, then by today’s standards. But at the time, it was hard to come up with enough scratch for a ticket.
One of my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs is Sweet Home Alabama. I grew up with 60’s-90’s music from my grandparents and it introduced me to an amazing world.
Damn, bro just tackled Free Bird... Props. It's a classic but it DOES kinda drag on. Certainly not everybody's cuppa. Okay, it's not a classic like this, but would LOVE to see reaction to: DragonForce - Through the Fire and Flames. Heavy fast guitar and super high energy.
SO much fun to watch you discover these masterpieces for the first time. Lynyrd Skynyrd is the personification of 70s Southern Rock out of Jacksonville, Florida. Sadly, they lost key members of the band in a tragic plane crash at the height of their popularity. If you get a chance to check a live performance of this song you will see that they were the real deal and could actually duplicate or even surpass the studio version with their playing. Thanks for sharing your reaction...and your 'free style' ;-)
The guitarist who wrote this song from the band was Allen Collins He’s in the picture standing by the light pole tall guy ! He’s was 17 years old and in high school smd already had wrote the entire solo and his wife to be Kathy Collins ask Allen “if I leave here tomorrow woukd you still remember me” and then Ronnie Van Zant the singer snd piano player Billy Powell finished the lyrics and music so Freaking awesome

Another Lynrd Skynyrd is Simple Man, slower song but really good
Shinedowns cover of Simple Man is amazing too
I want him to listen to stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin so bad
I feel happy when watching you react to these songs that I've grown up listening to once my dad got me into all this stuff.
They are from Jacksonville FL. This came out in the 70's. The best version of this song is Live with the addition of the piano. Yhey frequently used four guitarists.
Watch them do this live in Oakland,Ca….in a stadium….it’ll blow your mind…..all guitars going straight in with the piano….🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ronnie Van Zant was one of my absolute favorite voices in all of Southern Rock. Legendary band, and they deserve their place on the leaderboard; truly one of the great pioneers of the genre.
i’m 19 but my parents always played this song, i wish i could remember my first time hearing it
I heard it for the first time watching that 70s show one night.
BTW, I was yelling at you, IT'S NOT OVER YET!!! 😁
And they're from Alabama, USA. They have a very sad backstory. Half the band died in a plane crash. 💔
How to pronounce the name of the band is ON the album cover! I love it! Simple but awesome times to live through take my word for it.
This what we used to call a JAM.
Check out some more Skynyrd. "I ain't the One" the Breeze and "Gimme Three Steps'.
I looked up and saw Ronnie, in Heaven, Smiling. His Work is Goes On!
When this song gets a chokehold on you……
This song takes you on a journey.
My parents met in the 60’s and I was born in 89’. My earliest memory of this song is sitting in the back of my dad’s station wagon and when this song came on the radio…he…would…BLAST ITT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now as an adult every time I hear this song on a playlist I catch myself being transported, stop what I’m doing and vibing
🎶Looooooooord I can’t chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaange🎶
I just caught the freestyle at the end and it totally crack me up. But it's completely appropriate for the feeling of the music definitely. That was great.
These guys are from Florida & Alabama . They were part of the southern rock bands that were big in the mid to late 70’s
You forgot about California (Ed King) too.. 😜
My favorite band literally everrrr ❤️ RIP Ronnie van Zant 😢 💔 🙏🏼
The only song thats got me pulled over
You NEED to listen to Lenard Skynard - Simple Man. Probably one of their best songs, if not the best, in my opinion. It hits you deep in the soul.
Spelled Lynyrd Skynyrd
He said “this is a chill one”. How quickly one’s fortune can change 😂
You crack me TFU. Keep up the great entertaining reactions.
Freebird outro always playing somewhere.☮️💜🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Kashmir by Led Zeppelin!!🙌
This is a chill one... It's smooth... Oh boy, he doesn't know...
Simple Man is another song they absolutely crushed 👌🏼
Incredible song
My 2nd fav.
Lynyrd Skynyrd
The ballad of Curtis Lowe
The Songs about the lead singer’s role model, growing up a legendary black man
A must hear
You’re welcome, boss
@@otto5580 fantastic song also!
My favorite
Released in 1973, LS is Jacksonville Florida's finest.
Really enjoying your content! Such nostalgia, watching you experience the music. Fantastic stuff. I recommend "Albatross" by Corrosion of Conformity. Sounds metal I know, but it's much more of a 90's wail kind of sound. Thanks for the vid.
I wish I could here this for the first time again. It was face melting. I want to feel that again.
My second time watching you react and I’m going to binge today! You’re reactions are very entertaining. “Who’s the guitarist?” My answer,” Which one?” 😄
Most Fl Southern Rock Bands back in the day had three guitarist - another great one was the Outlaws the Fla Guitar Army
2:50 I was so excited for him to hear the solo
Check out the live version in Oakland CA 1976. Something to see played live !
1977, that is
Saw them in 1976 - I was 19 and they were amazing!!!!!
Now, they're asking a hundred dollars a ticket for lawn seats to Foreigner... Sheesh.
I know, it’s crazy to think of how cheap the tickets were back, then by today’s standards. But at the time, it was hard to come up with enough scratch for a ticket.
@@fleetskipper1810 Yup. If I had to pay the $12 instead of $8.50, I couldn't have made it.
The face he makes when the solo kicks in is the definition of face melting
One of my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs is Sweet Home Alabama. I grew up with 60’s-90’s music from my grandparents and it introduced me to an amazing world.
Great Grandparents Cherish Them
Love Sweet Home- you can’t help but gyrate to that music.
They had three guitarists when this song released in 1973. Allen Collins, Gary Rossington, and Ed King
One of the best band ever well done mate ❤️
Steve Gaines, Allen Collins and Gary Rossington on guitar!!!!!
That look at 5:30 like he rediscovered god😂
The guitarist who wrote this song from the band was Allen Collins He’s in the picture standing by the light pole tall guy ! He’s was 17 years old and in high school smd already had wrote the entire solo and his wife to be Kathy Collins ask Allen “if I leave here tomorrow woukd you still remember me” and then Ronnie Van Zant the singer snd piano player Billy Powell finished the lyrics and music so Freaking awesome
Free bird would kill a 15th century peasant
My favourite song of all time! That solo is epic!
Listen to voodoo child by Jimi Hendrix (:
I second this
